If anyone deciphered my ramble from last night, it's OK, I've sorted it. I did today's run before work, and I did tomorrow's when I got in this evening before eating. There was still 12 hours between them which is only like running one evening and then the morning after, so I thought that it fit better than running on Friday evening and backing right up to the weekend which has a rest day before it for a reason! So I ran 5.1 miles on the treadmill this morning, and 3.7 outside this evening. For bizarre bad planning reasons I wore my outside stuff on the treadmill and then my new shorts outside :dizzy: I was meant to be running outside before work this morning but it was raining just a bit too much for my liking. I'm such a wimp!
I haven't got my pack for the BUPA run through yet:tantrum: Shopping afterwards sounds good. And eating, of course ;) I'm now in London rather than Hitchin tomorrow, but the meeting is likely to be just as horrible no matter where it is. Because we might be staying over I need to pack a bag, including some fruit, nut and seed supplies in case I get desperate for something unprocessed! We might end up in a hotel with a gym and pool (Kylie - the one we're in for the run), but I'll only take my swimming stuff because it takes up less room and because I've got all my runs in. If the meeting goes on all night then we sleep and just travel back on Friday with no intention of going back to work there might be time for a leisurely swim before the train. Or possibly some shopping... I'm rambing again, aren't I?... |
i'm going to the gym tomorrow morning. I'm guilty of walking on the treadmill its my warm up, I do pound the stepper and the cross trainer though and then swim.
|
I really really want to go to the gym or do something, but I still can't get shos on over my gammy toe. I may even have to go to the Doctors (shock horror! twice in 5 years!) I'd planned to start my couch to 5k running program this week as well. Oh well, at least I'm not sitting round eating chocolate instead.
Princess, that sounds like a fab workout, I wouldn't be worried about walking on the treadmill. |
I would throw in weights to but i need to get back home for 9am to get up to uni for my thing at 10 - well its 45 mins brisk walk with a backpack on but after the gym I will be knackered so need an hour to pace myself.
Will prob head to the gym about half 6 if I can get up. |
I was walking on the treadmill today too, it just bugs me when that's all people do! Why not walk outside? ;)
I did my HIIT on the bike. I wanted to do it on the treadmills but they were all full :censored: Just a word about HIIT! Its BRILL! I felt all woozy and my legs were a bit wobbly for a while, then I felt like throwing up for a good half hour afterwards (always a sign of a good workout) then I was high as a kite! WEEEEEEE! :hyper: I did some rockin' tricep and chest work today too, only 4 exercises but I can feel them all the same!! :D Very heavy weights. The free weights area probably looked a lot like the shallow end of Sarah's pool, only 2 people actually lifting and 8 or so yacking! I decided to use the machines, too much testosterone in the air today - that and there was no space to use any of the benches that were being sat on! We watched doctor who, Billy calls herself a chav! Great laugh! I had a lovely dinner too, veggie burger and a jacket potato - properly done in the oven!! Then I've just come over all peckish so I had a protein shake with full-fat milk! :T Thats me for the day, I'm off to sleepy Superwoman land, where superheroes go to recharge their batteries! Night night  |
2frus- I am learning BFL! And is is like a foreign language to me at the moment but Sarah has helped and hopefully the stuff I'm reading will sink in soon. Is your HIIT the same HIIT as BFL??
And until about half 6 this would've looked like total jargon to me but hopefully I will still retain the info when I wake up in the morning! |

PLEASE IGNORE IF YOU'RE SQUEAMISH OR BORED WITH ALL MY FOOT POSTS!!
The blister was under the nail and the pressure has lifted the toe nail and it is not properly attached to the bed anymore. It's going to come off eventually but I'm trying to ignore it. Just frustrated because I can't do anything much. I'm SO not good with pain |

Claire, your toe sounds horrible. I know from all the marathon things I've read it recommends taking a decent rest afterwards because of what it takes out of your body, so I wouldn't try to start C25k until you're fully healed up.
Right, the meeting now isn't in London, it's in Hitchin again. And the other side won't be there. I wish they'd decide this sort of stuff a bit further in advance! Sadly, I'm still on the 7.20 train, so I suppose I'd better get some sleep. |
It might be worth going to the doctors for that now rather than later. My friend had one under her bigtoe nail then it went infected then it went blood blistery and she had to get it sorted in hospital and she fainted, so maybe go before it gets to that stage if it looks like the nails going to go, best just to have the doc give you something for it now. Sounds ouchee.

 Leah - officially called effluvia - exercise-induced sickness! As skwigg says, if you don't feel like you're going to throw up or cough up a lung, you're not working hard enough!
And Clareh, yes I did a BfL style HIIT session! I printed out their little chart that's on the website and stuck it to the bike while I was pedalling, to see when I should hit my 9s and 10s! For the last minute I had to visualise lying on the sofa watching TV and strutting my funky stuff on the beach in a tiny bikini to get through the 10! The people in the gym must've thought I was mad because I was right next to the door - got some funny looks, but thankfully I was working so hard I couldn't really gurn back at them! I swear I was the only one there working up a sweat - it was dripping off my chin! Yummy! My kickboxing instructor always says, "You should work so hard sweat should be dripping off your chin..." Well there you go! I'll have to tell him! I'm still "getting" a cold... I'm a bit snottier today, but it doesn't seem to be affecting many other parts! I woke up with a cough at 4am, got my Benelyn and went back to sleep! :crossed: that I'm ok for Saturday! I'll just have to dose up with Red Bull and Lemsip! |
Reading this, it does kind of make you wonder why we put ourselves through this.... the answers are that you feel really good about yourself afterwards and the end result is worth it.
Clare, its suprising how quickly I noticed body changes on BfL - I've kept a blog which isn't so much of a blog but more of a diary/record of how I've been getting on. I also forgot to mention that you get lots of helpful advice, recipes and general support on the Ladies who Lift forum here at 3 Fat Chicks. |
