I bet its the yoga doing that to your inner thighs. Our yoga teacher warns us all the time about how vulnerable our inner thighs are, and makes us warm up and rub them down very thoroughly.
Chocolate is my achilles heel, so the puddings are useful for me, but if you're not a chocaholic, I wouldn't bother. Save the 100 calories for something you'd really enjoy! It'll be interesting to see how you score at the doctors. Nearly lunch time!! I'm having an early one today. |
 Frus knows the perils of inner thigh things! Box splits are the worst culprit for yanking precious bits about! :tape:
I'm hungry for my lunch, just an hour to go!! I've eaten 2 oatcakes already to try and stave off the hunger, I'm trying to bloat myself out with Pepsi Max now! ;) |
Well - that was interesting - I've found out that the new shower does a kind of pulsing massage. I could have stayed in there for hours.....
I just did the Fitness Personality Profiler at spark people website - it was very accurate for me, said I'm an 'Independant Thinker' type and has given me a few ideas about what kinds of exercise to try next. I've been thinking about it and I might treat myself (or let Kevin treat me) to a Tai Chi DVD. I did enjoy the Qui Gong class yesterday but I can't face falling over in front of the little old ladies again. BTW, is it me, or do all little old ladies have the same hair do?? |
Oooh I've found spark people! It's WAY better than fitday - only thing is all my custom foods are in fitday! :tantrum:
|
Nah Spark People is rubbish! It thinks half a cup of oats is 303 kcals when that's the value for a whole cup!! Also, it thinks that half a cup of kashi is 30 odd calories, but 27grams is 100kcals, whereas when I last weighed half a cup of kashi... guess what - it was 27 grams! Gah!
Back to fitday! |
When we're little old ladies, we'll make sure we don't all have the same hair. I think there are two little old lady hair dos, grey and curly or grey and straight! :)
Why have I never heard of Spark People? What a fab website. I couldn't find the fitness profiler though. I had sweet and sour chicken for lunch, not the healthiest choice, but not worst either, and no dessert!!! |
No I couldn't find the fitness profiler either... And that's what I went on there for!
I'm going to have pink hair when I'm a LOL! Dave's been to Costco and there's usually danish pastries to contend with in the kitchen at work. However today there are NONE! :yikes: I don't know whether to be pissed off or pleased! On the way down to the kitchen I thought, "I don't need one, I'll be good." But now that there aren't any I really want one! I'm thinking I might get some Maltesers before kickboxing... Only thinking at the moment mind! I might end up not! I'm so tired :tired: at the moment. I think it was the running! I'm glad I'm having the day off on Thursday, I need more sleep  |
I don't do my food in Spark People - I've got a battered old notebook and calorie booklet for that. Every now and then I check my food groupings on FitDay to make sure I'm headed in the right direction but I'd go nuts if I had to check carbs/protein/fat every meal. I use Spark People mainly for the exercise tracking, especially the Strength Training bit. You can customise it for what exercises you want to do and when and you get a little video of the exercise so you know how to do it properly - I haven't got access to a gym and trying to learn form from a book was a right waste of time. I also like the resources section which is where I found the fitness personality profiler.
|
I found it, I'm an Independent Thinker too. I wouldn't bother tracking my food in it, I use paper and head for that. I hate Fit Day. It just doesn't suit me personally. The info and exercises are really good. ANother thing to while away my time with!
|
Oh and I did the eating one, I'm an emotional eater
not! |
It says I'm a Portion Distortioner - and its very accurate in describing my eating patterns.
|
okay I still can't find it...
|
I just sent you a PM - you can't put a link here, all you get is **********.com
|
I'm a fast fueller! Hmmmm I think I got 4 for everything but portion distortioner, of which I scored 3. So how come if I scored 4 for nearly everything it's ranked one on top? :dizzy:

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D god bless boots IDEAL WEIGHT! |
SO COOL, Helen!!!!!
|
well done!!!!!
yummy I had the nicest dinner. I had tortilla wraps I made 3 because I had to unfreeze 3 they were stuck together but only ate 2. I put in veggie chilli - veggie mince, half a tin of tomatos, peppers, onion, mushroom, hot pepper sauce just a teeny capful, and some beans then salad and put lime on it for dressing and a bit of grated cheese was gorgeous. I'm also making soup for uni to save money. Making lentil soup with chana lentils the other half of the tomatos, half a lime chopped up and some curry powder. You have to cook it for an hour and blend it then add a bit more water and cook again but it ends up gorgeous and tastes creamy and only costs about 30 for 4 portions. |
Woo hoo indeed, 100lbs!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Well done you. What a fantastic achievement.
Michele |
:hat: congratulations, you must be over the moon :cp:
|
Brilliant, YP - Well done - it goes to show what can be done with a lot of hard work and determination!!
:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: |
Well done YP! :cheer:
Hooray for you - ideal weight AND a marathon runner :D I dub thee WonderWoman :D Be back on in a bit - urgent Tilly ballet frame stuff to do, but I have NEWS so will post later! ;) |
I'm back! I'm so addicted - I need to check in here AS SOON as I get to work!
Right anyway... Kickboxing last night, I'm now practising for my green belt. It's a sinch! Woo! And the other girl who's on the fast-track black belt has been off for a few weeks since she's been ill. She is a green belt at the moment, and I severely want to catch up with her and/or beat her! Anyway, she came last night to say hello, then she'll be back on Thursday. She brought with her... anti-natal scans! :faint: She's preggers! I'm still in shock!!!! It was a surprise for her too! But she's carrying on kickboxing for as long as she can. Respect to her. But since she'll be having to take time off... Well, I will get my black belt first! Mwahahahahaha! This is of course unless I get knocked up next... So I'm really pleased for her, but also secretly pleased for me, since I want to be the first lady black belt in the club :D I'm so evil  Oh and I know I haven't been weighing for ages and ages and ages because I was sick and then I was getting all stressed out about it, but I weighed in this morning and I'm 11 stone 11lbs, which is fine by me! At least it's not 11:13 which was my plateau weight! I would've been mega pissed off! Oh and my bf% is down by 0.7% too, which is seriously GREAT! It means that since the last time I weighed in at 11:13 I have lost... Duh duh duuuuuuh, 2 whole pounds of fat and no muscle! YAY! So it's all good! Oh and yesterday I was thinking that I'd have Maltesers, I went to the petrol station and picked up a bag, standing in the queue feeling up my bag of maltesers, thinking, "This is nothing! For 180kcals, that's NO FOOD at all!" so I put them back and picked up a Muller Light since I was starving! :D :D I just need some :dust: For Belgium! |
Ve vant news!!!!! I live my life vicariously through other people, and I need gossip, anything of interest!!!
I walked again this morning, that's 7.5k three days in a row. The next two mornings be swimming mornings Yay!!!! I'm thinking of getting up at 4.45 and walking to the pool :dizzy: My eating has been really good this week. I've got my groove back! |
Ah ve have news! Typing at the same time. Double protection for you then young lady. Will that be a chastity belt prior to black belt :D
My favourite diet book is called Picture Perfect Weight Loss. It's a boring sensible book, but has pretty pictures pitting an seemingly healthy choice against a healthier choice. Like a sandwich versus a salad, and has pictures of how to get more bang for you calorie buck. I really like it. My new weigh ins are Fridays. I used to do it Monday but that wasn't working for me. If I have not lost weight this week I'll scream! In public! On the scales in my swimming cozzie in the middle of the changing rooms! |
 Yes... chastity belt... :chin: Good plan!
|
Well done Frus on the willpower to resist those maltesters AND on the weight loss. Good news about the other girl getting preggers!
Ky, I'm so glad you're feeling better - but keep in mind how you felt and don't over-do it. You aren't seriously considering getting up at 4.45 are you??? I know that I shouldn't weigh myself every morning - but I do. I only record my weight on Saturday mornings though - thank goodness because this morning the scales showed a gain of 2lbs! I've been good, except for an ounce of gorgonzola cheese and 3 crackers yesterday evening, so it isn't a 'real' 2lbs gain maybe its a punishment for the cheese. :( My neighbours' house is up for sale - AND ITS NOT A JOKE THIS TIME!!! (Last time she was playing some weird joke on him). Woo Hoooooooo!!!!! I think the whole road will have a street party on the day they move out. I am sooooooo looking forward to my day off tomorrow. We're going to the coast for the day, come back early for The Medical and then go out to dinner. Its strange, now I've been told that those tests need doing urgently I've started feeling under the weather. It was a struggle to get my rear end in gear and get out walking this morning - it could also be because I've set myself a challenge of walking 10+ miles each day (except Thursdays!) |
:crossed: for the medical although all that exercise and healthy eating WILL have done the results good already
Your 2lbs is sodium stuff from salty cheese and crackers ;) |
I get up at 5 now so it's only 15 minutes earlier!!!
I was going to have second breakfast at work, but someone burnt the toast and the restaurant had to be evacuated!!! 300 calories saved! I'm really hungry now though! I'm gonna have to go hunting for food at break! Best of luck for the test but am sure that it will all be fine. |
OMG - I'm just trying to sort myself out a diet/exercise blog.
What a weird experience blogging is - a bit like keeping a public diary. I'm not sure I like it really (I love reading other peoples' though!). Its like giving people a window in to my life and its quite time consuming. Yes, I know, posting here is time consuming as well but its more like a conversation whereas blogging is a bit... narcissistic. I'll give it a couple of days and then decide whether to delete it or not. I thought I'd sorted it out the other day but it turned out I'd just kept the first entry in draft - d'oh - you'd never guess that I've used computers for the last 25 years! |
I want to see Sarahs BLOG :D
I've been refreshing a radiohead ticket site for 2 hours I'm bored now. :p |
Sarah, I think keeping a blog is a good thing. It helps me to know where I've been and where I definitely do not want to return. Plus it can be a place to just vent about STUFF.
The weird thing is--only two people in my "real life" know about my blog, but I know lots of others read it. I don't want to share it with anyone else in real life. Doesnt it sound weird that I dont mind total strangers reading my stuff, but would freak if anyone from "real life" saw it?? |
Veggie, I've got to wait and see if I feel comfortable with the whole idea first.
Jen, Yes, I can see that it would be good to blog to clear your mind. It just feels a bit strange - I've never kept a diary or anything else like that - don't know why, its just not something anyone in my family has ever done. |
I keep a food diary in the journals but haven;t done it for ages I'm so lazy.
I've walked to uni and back which is 4.4 miles I finally found out by going the same route with my friend in the car the other day and measuring it. Then I did an hour and a half at the gym it was so good. Feel knackered now though |
I just did that Health and Fitness workout!
 Holy macaroni, batman! It's fabby do! I've never tried bench presses on a stability ball before  They were GREAT! Won't be back on till late tomorrow morning! I'm having a lie in. I AM having a lie in  |
I want to see Sarah's blog too! And I also want Kylie to update hers. I'm not demanding ;)
Thank you everyone for saying nice things about me. Tonight I've been drinking free wine in celebration (and instantly putting a few pounds back on ;) ). Frus, woo hoo on your advantage in the race to black belt! Chastity belt is the way to go ;) Jen - I know exactly what you mean. I had another blog before this one, and someone I knew found it so I stopped posting on it and moved on to something else. I like sharing on my terms, and i don't like the thought of people finding out more than they should do about my innermost thoughts!!! Still, the marathon news seems to be spreading through work since my boss found out the other day. Today two people asked me when the marathon is, whereas before there was only one person who knew about the crazy crazy plan. It seems to be out in the open now though, so I'll have to go through with it! |
D-Day again tomorrow. Gonna chin myself if I haven't lost this week after last weeks shock gain!!
Results later! ;) |
I have a love hate relationship with blogging. I'll have to try and get back into it again.
I went to the gym last night and did some quick cardio, it was really good. Was planning to do weights, but there were just too many people. I have signed up for my first ever Pilates class tonight. Gym twice today, coz I'm swimming this morning. I decided that due to Pilates it was definitely overkill to walk to the pool this morning!!! There's no milk in the house, so I am having toast and cottage cheese and a pink grapefruit for breakfast. I think in the last year I have had something other than porridge less than 10 times! I'm weighing in either today or tomorrow, not decided yet. If I haven't lost, I will definitely scream!!! |
I had porridge for breakfast....
Then I promptly went back to sleep! :D See I said I was having a lie in! I'm still full from my porridge :dizzy: I have some things to do at the post office and have to try and get money out of our letting agents. I'm going to go and buy some ingredients for protein flap jacks... I haven't made them yet and I don't know how they'll turn out, but one can only try! |
