I rejoined Curves on Saturday, it felt SO GOOD to have a work out session again. I left because work commitments were getting in the way of going, far too frequently to justify paying the money each month...but I had a good head on all weekend and decided I can work it in :)

Have been angelic with the food this weekend as well.. am feeling very virtious (sp) :)

I worked out in my garden yesterday for hours. I had a lot of neglected or dead plants including two queen palm trees that needed to be got rid of. I count getting one palm up as an hours work out. In the end I had to ask J to help as it still wouldn't budge...I could invisage me pulling so hard on it and it finally coming out, and me and the root ball toppling backwards into the pool... that wouldn't have been funny as the water temp is on 45 degrees! Brrrr....

Sarah, I'm jealous of your lovely walks on the moors with Fred and George, they must love it. Take you camera next time you hunt for the lake and take some pics for me will ya?

Well done YP on the birthday bash and NSV :)

Ok, must get ready for work and pack my exercise gear ready for curves after said work.

Have a wonderful day all... gonna be 78 degrees here today :)

Well done

I did a core body class at lunch, with a very cute instructor. It was great but I am shaking all over now!!!

Sarah Ann, there is a new AWT book, called GL (Glycaemic Load) and it's even better than his first book, with great recipes, I bought it at the weekend, as well as the latest issue of Runners World.

Back to work!

2frustrated 02-06-2006 09:11 AM

Oooh look at you miss Runner's World! I bought it too! I feel it's justified to spend 4 quid on a flimsy magazine since I just ran a 5K in sub 35 minutes YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Scales may be down a pound if it ain't a fluke, had a good eating weekend things are looking up! :hyper:

I'm really tired, think I'll go to bed once I've eaten. I had to get up at 5am yesterday to pick my parents up from the airport, then got woken up at 4.30 this morning by my parents and my sister and her boyfriend all banging round the house getting ready to go back to the airport.

I did do a fastest ever 58:15 10k at the gym though - and was quite amazed that it was my fastest on the basis I did it on level 4 hills!

Early night I think, I need to get some sleep before the weekend. Although I say that now and will probably end up on here all night :o

Still in the dark as to what an NSV is, no one seems to want to tell me

Ms veggie told you ;)

A non scale vicotry is a benefit of weight loss other than a number on a scale, like fitting into a cinema seat, or being able to run 5k in 40 minutes, something like that!

micheleherts 02-06-2006 05:18 PM

Thank you YP and apologies Veggie god above only knows how I missed that.

I think being 22 and a half might be pushing it though! :D Don't wanna try and explain that one, why the thing has buckled!:o

I'll tell you what the DVD is like when it comes. Ordered it from Tesco Jersey so might take a few days to arrive.

Yeah, they're usually pretty good. Will see what tomorrow brings!

Ouchy on the back ache. :(

Ouchy owie Ms veg

YP you rock with the running! I have entered the ballot for the Great North Run - I find out on Thursday whether I've got a place or not... Since their are about 3 applicants to one place I won't hold my breath! But if I get a place then WOOHOO and training starts in earnest!

Did my teaching stint last night, it was great! I'm really enjoying it, my "competitor" didn't show up and I like it slightly better without her  I got home and did my weights - a new routine but it's about the same as the old one! :dizzy: I think the other days will be different, but there's only so much you can do with dumbbells... Maybe I need to get a home gym!

Woke up this morning shaking like a little leaf... I think I really pushed myself with the running, which is good, but disturbing when you wake up worse off than when you went to bed!

Had my caffine fix, so hopefully the caffine shakes will shake the other way to the tired shakes ;)

Veggie - what have you done to your back, or is it something that just crept up on you? I've got backache and a pain in my hip as well and it has just sort of crept up on me, getting a little more painful each day. I finally gave up went to the doctor yesterday which was a bit of a waste of time. He just told me to take Ibrufen BP (the cheap stuff) every 4 hours cos he thinks I've inflammed the joints or something with all the walking (I should learn to take notes when I'm at the doctors!) My problem is that I don't have too much pain while I'm actually walking (more like a dull ache) its only when I stop and have rested a while that it really hits me. The fun really starts if I need to get out of bed in the night for any reason - thats when it really, REALLY hurts. :( He told me to stop walking for a couple of days but the dogs would go nuts (and so would I) and DH is working all daylight hours at the moment so he can't walk them.

Lovely walk this morning - beautiful sunrise! There was a knee level low lying mist. The dogs love it because they know if they stay low they can creep up on me and grab hold of my trainer laces to make me jump. My dogs definitely have a silly sense of humour. :fr:

My neighbour is lucky to be alive today - he was in a car crash yesterday. His car was hit by a lorry from behind which pushed his car forward in to the back of the lorry in front. His car is a total write-off and is about half the length it was before and he walked away without a scratch. :dizzy:

2frustrated 02-07-2006 05:47 AM

Wow! That is mega mega lucky about your neighbour. Lorry drivers are the WORST. They should have automatic warning systems that don't allow them to get too close to the car in front. And as for "lorry races" on the Motorway :rollpin: My pet hates :censored: I always keep out of the way of lorries, they are far too dangerous. Especially if that was me on my motorbike between those two lorries  doesn't bear thinking about.

Your dogs rock ;)
