Maybe you've discovered a new magic formula, drinks lots of beer & eats lots of chocolate (must be done to excess to produce required results) and voila - weight loss  Way To Go!!

Got the munchies today, "you know what" is approaching, and the choccy cravings are starting and yes, I'll probably succumb :^:

2frustrated 05-19-2005 07:52 AM

Apparently you burn about 100 cals more a day when you're pre-menstrual!

MadamDotty 05-19-2005 09:16 AM

Frus - I love you, you know how to make me happy ;) :D

Mind you I think the jacket potato with butter & cheese for lunch was probably more than 100 cals!!! Oh yes, and the choccie biscuit I had afterwards! - told ya I had the munchies. Still I did jog this morning and I'll go on my rebounder this afternoon, plus, of course, I've got those extra 100 cals to help me along.

x

2frustrated 05-19-2005 02:09 PM

Ah well it all helps!

I've had a gingerbread man... ginger's good for your digestion.... mmmmmm gingerbread men!

kykaree 05-19-2005 02:46 PM

I get ginger teddy bears made by buderim, they are a bit like jelly babies but made of natural ginger extract, very nice they are too, no fat, but full of sugar!

BIGGIRL27 05-19-2005 03:19 PM

Channel five: Diet Doctors

Hi Girlies... Oh dear! I phoned the DietDoctors TV show thingy! Had a longish interview on the phone today and they are supposed to be coming to Preston to interview me again next week!!!

WHAT. HAVE. I. DONE.????? LOL

Frus and Kylie... the two of you are sending me to the furthest room of 'Healthy ****' with all that CHOCA-TALK!!! LOL I finally gave in today and had a WW chocolate sponge pudding... usually that satisfies my chocattack but for some reason today I have been acutely aware that it was 'fake' and to make matters worse, I had to go to Thornton's today to get our nephew some birthday sweets!!! Grrrr... I was dying!!! But I prevailed... :)

Hope everyone is feeling good and motivated :cb:

YP1 05-19-2005 04:27 PM

Wow, that's exciting about the tv programme - I woudn't have had the guts to do that!

I'm feeling relatively motivated today, but looking forward to my "week off" next week. I won't be too bad, but it will be nice to relax a bit and catch my breath before hitting the gym again in June.

OMG Can't wait to see you on tv! :D :cb:

cat90 05-19-2005 08:51 PM

WOW :faint: you are BRAVE :cp: but I won't get to see you  so you'll have to keep me up to date with whats happenin'

Well, I got on the :goodscale: and this morning I weighed 168.5lbs Nekked  and this afternoon I weighed 170.5lbs after i'd just eaten :dunno: so whichever it is i'm still a bit less than I was at the Doc's  and i've just eaten 4 Bounties and half a packet of chocolate hob-nobs  what am I like? I have to fast for 14 hours before I have my blood taken tomorrow so my cut off time will be about 8-9pm  so I think i'm getting everything in before then :lol3:

kykaree 05-20-2005 02:37 AM

Has any one tried the Rosemary Conley Belgian Chocolate Mousse???? I'm not one for "diet products" but this one has saved my chocolate adoring hide on many an occasion, just over 100 calories and it tastes "real". Even hubby hankers after them!!! That's the one who doesn't eat sweets or cakies!!!!

I couldn't do tv, far too nervous, and I have enough stress in my little life at the moment. You know how I told you all I got the underwriting job...........well........our stupid HR people advertised two stunning jobs at once, so I went for both. I had the interview for t'otherun yesterday (OMG I'm speaking Lancashire in my post, shock!!!) and I think did ok. I am dreading telling the other lady that I won't be coming over, but hey can you help being utterly fabulous and in demand?? And this one is more moolah! Afterall we don't just work for love of it do we???

I am so happy to be escaping my current department, it's getting very *****y and political, and our fabulous manager is going to the same department I had the interview for!!!!

BIGGIRL27 05-20-2005 04:09 AM

Hey Gang

YP I don't know if I have the 'guts' to do it either. I think it was an impulse thing... I thought ooo that'll keep me motivated, but I never ever thought they'd really call me back! Now, I'm like ugh... well maybe I won't get picked in the end. I definitely wouldn't have even called if I was back home. lol The only thing I'm REALLY REALLY dreading is if they want to take those 'underwear shots' of me. Hm. I think that's a deciding factor because I HATE IT WHEN SHOWS DO THAT!!! I don't mind revealing a roll or my bat wings, but I will not stand in front of a camera in my underwear!!! lol So, Veggie you may not be seeing me lol

Kyk, girllll you are a HOT MAMA!!! Of course, you will just have to be honest and say the other dept. has made a better offer, no? BTW the RCBC mousse is my lifesaver!!! Don't get them often though.

Cat, Fantastic weight loss for you! Go Girl! Not sure about the candy bars though lol

Other news: I must confess, I have been on the scale... grr... so far, so good though... got a temping job for next week as the PA for a director at UCLAN.. sounds easy enough like checking his email, filing stuff, and making tea... the hardest bit will be making tea for him... I just feel like *huff* make your own tea!!! lol Anyway, it's good money and litterally around the corner from me, so I'm grateful!

OK, I'm going to go cringe now about Five ;)

veggie 05-20-2005 08:18 AM

Oh pleaseeeeeeeee go on tv everyone but me. :D ;)

I've never seen a Rosemary Conley Belgian Chocolate Mousse (yes I copied and pasted that far too long for me to type) :p where are they hiding?

kykaree 05-20-2005 11:33 AM

I get them at the good old co-op, not sure where else they hide!!! very nice they are, much more palatable than her Salsa dvd, I must say.

Get those brews in BigGirl!!!! I hate getting the brews in, I often rebel. We have a machine in our office, and it hates me, I am not good with technology, I was born in a cave!

tootoot 05-20-2005 01:24 PM

TV STARDOM..........................:yikes: ill make do with a wee mention thanks BG! mind you i have to admit having all those experts at hand was very very tempting
choccy mousse, gingerbread men.........................mmmmmmmmmmm going to be hard this weekend to fight of the binge buggre

MadamDotty 05-20-2005 03:37 PM

I've just eaten an M&S clotted cream rice pudding and I feel sick :barf: serves me right I suppose. It was just too rich, I'm gonna have heartburn all night now, I didn't even enjoy it that much, but still ate it all of course - what a pig!

Hope you do get on the telly Tamara, it'd be great to see you, although I fully agree with you, I couldn't do it in my undies either. It always amazes me that some of the people on these makeover progs have real issues with their self-confidence, often due to their weight and they go on telly, in their undies showing the world every ounce of fat!! don't get that?!

Have a great weekend all, not much planned here, having a fairly easy weekend (just gotta try & not eat too much) :dizzy:

YP1 05-20-2005 07:24 PM

I never get the drinks in, but then I never get anyone to get me a drink either. I opted out of drinks rounds when I first joined the firm and I've never been in them. I prefer it that way, not least because I never drink hot drinks anyway. Water all the way for me :)

Urgh. I'm just imagining having to do the underwear shots. I think that would put me off too.

Tomorrow's the big test. I've lost a stone and a half since I last saw my mother. Will she notice??? And will I be able to persuade her that I don't want to eat her cooking without offending her horribly?

I just realised my major achievement of the week. If I get through tomorrow I'll have gone a whole week without a single drop of alcohol and with only one teeny tiny bar of chocolate. Good going for me.

And another thing. I was trying to get some new workout stuff today. How are fat people ever meant to get fit when they can't even get stuff to wear at the gym??? Shame. I saw some really nice stuff but it didn't quite fit. Damn.

kykaree 05-21-2005 01:50 AM

If I ever get enough money I am going to start a busines making proper exercise clothes for fat chicks. I make do with Evans, but I really need some proper, dare I say, lycra (or something stretchy anyway) now I am doing more at the gym, I need closer fitting gym wear, and there is nothing. I feel very bitter that I am the same weight as you YP1 and still in a 22!!!! LOL - only joking about the bitter bit, but it makes life so difficult. I walk around JJB sports and JD woman and see the nice workout clothes and feel increasingly annoyed that no one is catering for us!

I have had less alcoholic drinks in the last 4 months than I imbibed over the 4 day Christmas period!!! I drink diet coke or occasionally I will really lash out and have a BritVic 55. My partner laughs at me, but he's used to it now.

Right ladies, off to work, on a Saturday no less - and I am bitter about that too!!! Hopefully my Saturday working days will be behind me soon!!!

YP1 05-21-2005 02:23 AM

Hi Kykaree, up early too? :) I don't have work for an excuse, I think I'll get up and go to the gym in a bit as there's no hope of getting back to sleep.

I'm 18 - 20 depending on the shop and the fit of the clothes. I can fasten most 18s now, but I'm learning that just because they fasten doesn't mean they always fit, and I can afford to wait to lose a few more pounds before treating myself to 18s clothes from "normal" shops. The 18s tracksuit bottoms I tried in JJB last night were very small though, and they didn't seem to go above that :( I really need some shorts or something for when I do Race for Life - and with a pocket for my keys etc as my current tracksuit doesn't do that, and it could be warm being in July. Let's just hope I'm down to a proper 18 by then!

2frustrated 05-21-2005 02:41 AM

I always thought exercise clothes should be in bigger sizes

I'm up early too and my CD writer is being a :censored: It's not deleting the files and I need to write more CDs, without those files! :censored:

kykaree 05-21-2005 03:52 AM

I'm at work now :( . If you can bear Evans, they have some good shorts with velcro pockets, sort of long shorts, but in a good fabric which seems to keep itself cool. I wear those, but they are a bit loose and the pockets sometimes get in the way on the leg press etc.

I'm going to the gym this arvo, while the :censored: ball is on.

veggie 05-21-2005 10:00 AM

Urgh the FA Cup is on I'm off to the shops for more fruit and Eurovision booze for tonight  Less than a week until Big Brother starts I'm very excited! :D

MadamDotty 05-21-2005 11:03 AM

Luckily my hubby's not a footie fan (yes, I found the only one!! :D ) but he does watch the Grand Prix, but that's the only sport he watches, so I can put up with that. And he does have to put up with me becoming totally obsessed with Big Brother (me too Veggie), just love it.

Had a nice long walk this afternoon before the rain started, so pleased to get that in. Having a nice long session on the internet this afternoon and listening to music, so taking it easy.

cat90 05-21-2005 04:22 PM

I'm having a lazy day too  funny how the side effect of having a few bevvies is not wanting to do anything next day   I should be out practising riding my scooter :dunno: or at the mall spending money :D but I can't really be bothered to do anything  and the rodeo is on, yeehah! thats another thing I could be doing too :dunno: its all overcast and miserable outside :( I think it has been ever since I bought my scooter  is it an omen? :fr: if it is, :censored: it! :lol3: I don't care

Hubby made himself some jam on toast early this morning :yikes: (whats up wi him?) there was a veritable ant-fest going on when I went down later  wiped lots of the little buggers up with paper towel and have put some Raid down ;) I hope that does the trick, I hate them! and its not even hot yet either

cat90 05-21-2005 06:12 PM

Grrrr  i've been outside to see what kind of mess my hubby is making putting a new septic field in so that his son can build a house up here :rollpin: i've taken lots of pics of the devastation and while I was at it I took a pic of my little scooter :D here it is:

veggie 05-21-2005 07:55 PM

Nice scooter. I was imagining one of them you stand on. :p

kykaree 05-22-2005 05:57 AM

I went to the gym to escape the football, bad bad bad idea. All the little gym boys (the ones that work there and their harem) were watching the tellys whilst perched over the equipment. And old men used the weight machines as seats rather than doing weights, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! But I did my workout around them and ignored the silly game. I hate football, don't understand it, don't get why they are paid so much money, don't understand why they wear too many clothes (Australian Rules footballers run around in tight shorts and little vests - far more entertaining) and why there are fifty million different competitions/leagues thingies, I can never keep up with it.

YP1 05-22-2005 06:02 AM

I completely avoided the football. I went out to a rugby match then came in and did a revolutionary thing called not turning the tv on and reading the paper listening to music on my computer. No football intrusions whatsoever.

My mother has arrived safe and sound and asked whether I've lost more weight, which is kind of a result.

And I've set a new PB of 33.30 for 5k on the treadmill. Pleased with that, I've shaved over 30 seconds off my previous best time.

teel 05-22-2005 09:40 AM

Oh well done indeed to YP!! :bravo: :cp: :bravo: When are you off to Greece?

I sort of watched the footie. Not all of it by any means but it was on. I missed the penalties! and had to go on to Sky news to see the result :o

Did anyone watch the Eurovision? I couldn't be bothered this year as the whole scoring business has got so darn politically correct in past years. :judge: The Baltics all vote for each other, the French vote for the Germans and vice versa! And I didn't like the song when I first heard it anyway....HUMBUG!!!

I've managed to get the washing dry.It now looks like its going to rain but earlier it was so good and windy it all blew dry...More ironing :(

I'd better empty the utility room/back porch today as the builder is coming tomorrow to knock a large hole through an interior wall and integrate a room that formerly had a shower in it which has now been emptied and plastered and a light put in and a floor put down. He is going to brick up the original entrance so the whole area is going to look entirely differant when its finished.

Take care all, see you soon Tootoot!!!

veggie 05-22-2005 11:08 AM

I watched Eurovision everyone hates us we don't care. Except we do, why won't they vote for us the meanies. :tantrum: :judge:

cat90 05-22-2005 02:46 PM

 :lol3: Veggie, can you imagine me peddling with one leg on the road to work?

 WOW Sheila, excellent time on the treadmill :bravo:

Can't believe that :censored: silly contest is still going on :fr:

Weather is a bit iffy today :dunno: was :sunny: then :rain: :rollpin: dry at the moment but I don't want to set off on my scooter and then get wet  its not fun :(

kykaree 05-22-2005 02:58 PM

I wanted Moldova to win, the song about the granny that Terry Wogan hated!!!! And I liked the very political Ukraine and Russian entries!!!! I think Javine got a raw deal, no one has ever won it from number two, I sort of liked the song.

I have had a busy day, been swimming, went to Asda (ugh!), came home, went to the gym, came home again, watched two episodes of Dawson's creek on dvd (the last episodes ever) and then did my ironing. Oh what an exciting life I lead.

No eye candy at the gym either :(

BIGGIRL27 05-22-2005 03:11 PM

Hi Girls

Hubby tied me down and forced me to watch my first ever Eurovision Song Contest and I gotta tell ya, I had a big ol' headache and felt angry with the world afterwards! lol But, it was fun at first laughing at people... I actually did enjoy Denmark and Malta though (hubby's half Maltese and born there, but I'm NOT biased! lol) Anyway, Malta represented for big girls everywhere! I just wish someone had helped Miss Honey with that fluffy red curtain she wore!!! Question: Where were her friends???? Anyway, the politics did get the best of the votes... how apparent was that when the largest contributors were at the bottom of the leader board? I mean, Javine is no Madonna, BUT I cannot believe that some of thos ridiculous groups beat the UK by sooo much!

Anyway, I'm not sure if I gushed on this board just yet, but I walked 6 miles yesterday!!!! This is a true accomplishment for me because I have always been very anxious about walking (stop laughing!!! lol ;)) Both my parents are military folk and walk with a quick pace... Ever since I remember walking, I remember being tugged, dragged, and yelled at for walking so slow! lol It caused a great deal of anxiety which lives on to this day! I hate running into someone I know that is going the 'same way' because then I start freaking out about them feeling that I'm 'holding them back' lol Stupid ! know!!!

Anyway, back to watching the dumb antics of Joey!

Have fun, gang! And Kyk, let's go halvsies on the Big girl workout fashion biz lol This has been my dream like for- ever!! It's a huge market (forgive the pun!) that no one seems to want to tap in to...

YP1 05-22-2005 04:03 PM

One more day til Greece. I get on that flight at 7am on Tueday (trying not to think about how early I have to leave the house!)

I can't wait!

MadamDotty 05-24-2005 05:41 AM

Feeling totally :censored: off today, really fed-up – reason? I weighed myself this morning and I’ve gained ½ lb. I couldn’t believe it, I only lost ½ last week, which I assumed was become TOM was due and thought it would catch up and I’d have a better loss this week – not a gain!! I just feel I’ve worked so hard on my fitness, which for me is a miracle, I’ve never been fit in my life, but over the last week I’ve got up early and either been jogging, cycling or rebounding every morning. Ok, so it’s only for 10-15 minutes at a time, but it has been every day, which should surely count for something. I’ve also done over 10,000 steps on my pedometer every day and really feel like I’m getting more active. I just burst into tears when I saw it as I really thought I’d see a loss this week.

I know I’m looking better and I have lost some inches over the last 3 weeks, 1½” from my waist, 1” from my hips and even ½ inch from my thighs, so I am pleased with that, but I want to see the weight coming off too, and I know I’m getting fitter, which is so good for my health, but you know what it’s like, the scales rule all and when you stand on them, after working your butt off all week, you expect to see the results.

I know that scales can vary so much from day to day and I know I’m overreacting, but it really upset me this morning, and I just can’t shake it off.

:(

veggie 05-24-2005 08:40 AM

MadamDotty I'm not surprised you're annoyed if I'd done 10,000 steps a day I'd expect to lose at least 2 pounds I'm sure it will come off next week.

Have a nice time YP1 (too late it is past 7am) :p

BIGGIRL27 05-24-2005 12:28 PM

Madam Dotty, I'm sure that you must be showing a gain because you're building muscle! This is a good thing because muscle mass will burn more fat! And, muscle takes up less space than fat (which would explain the lost inches yet the slight gain) Just keep your head up and know that the weight WILL come off so long as you remain as determined as you are. Keep exercising! Keep going!

kykaree 05-24-2005 01:22 PM

Ignore those evil scales. Everyone keeps telling me how fabulous I look and how I am half the girl I used to be, but i haven't lost that much yet. And the scales are now going so slowly, I am lucky if I lose 1/2 pound a week these days. Just keep going and ignore that nasty things. Created by men to confound and addle and upset the female brain!

BIGGIRL27 05-25-2005 12:50 PM

HELLlllllloooooo (echo) (ECHO)

Chicks? You ok? What's happening where you are? In my world... TOM is coming to town and I'm really just not in the mood! I'm enjoying my temping position, especially since its just around the corner at the Uni!! YAY Also, my temporary boss gave me a contact to enquire about getting a teaching job (I taught Creative Writing/Literature/Women's Studies) It's not a job, but it's a step closer! Anyway, feeling good about food, but exercise feels a chore since that 6 mile walk and the impending drama of TOM! Anyway.... somebody say something... Frus? Kyk? Veg? Cat's on vaca right? ;) Miss you guys!!!! Dotty? Have you gone postal? Are you back? :D

Oh, KYK... yes, scales are evil BUT they also have the power to brighton my day!!! lol

veggie 05-25-2005 02:07 PM

Sorry I just been moaning to myself about going to fat club with still no loss tomorrow. :o

MadamDotty 05-25-2005 02:28 PM

Hi Tamara, hi all - it is a bit quiet round here lately!

Anyway, in a much better, more positive frame of mind today. those darned scales really got to me yesterday & I ended up having a lazy day, having a moment you know - no point exercising, doesn't do any good - kinda thing.

So back to cheery me today, got up and went for a run - still killing me  and have walked plenty. I'll get there, eventually. Bad habits (eating) sort of creep back up on you, & I'd got into the habit of having an iced coffee every afternoon when I got home from work, but it's a tub of powder bought from Whittards that you mix with milk, and it's sweetened, plus the milk, I was was probably having a good 150+ cals a day, so that wouldn't have helped obviously. So it was back to the green tea today.

In school this morning our Nurture Group made muffins & I was asked if I'd like one & with an iron resolve, I didn't know I possessed I said no, so that halo is back on ;)

Has anyone seen the "6 second abs" machines advertised on the telly - mine came today (this is from the woman who has a roomfull of miracle machinery bought off telly). I'll let you know how I get on, but according to the ads, I'll be a skinny minnie by morning (or something like that!!!).

Take care all
