2frustrated 05-01-2005 03:25 PM

4 BOUNTIES :yikes:

I am going to have a rant. Dom and I were supposed to be going to see HItchiker's guide to the galaxy. Not really too bothered about the film but love going to the cinema even if the film's pants! Anyway, so we went and got the film times and the bus times, we were going to go yesterday but neither of us had done a lot of work so we decided to go today.

Anyways, he was on the phone to his parents just before we were going to go out, like 3 minutes before... then he says, "Oh Mum says there's a reveiw in the paper and they say it's rubbish. I don't want to go now, I'd rather revise!"

IDIOT! What about ME? I'd been looking forward to going out all weekend, then he says, " I want to go out too, why don't we go for a walk to the video shop, let's check on-line to see what's in." So I find a video that I want to watch and we see the trailer, then he says, "We've seen the film now though!" So guess what? We don't get the video, we don't go out, he's mooching in the bedroom cos I've told him I was looking forward to going out and he's stood me up, and I've watched 2 episodes of ER on video. Now I'm bored to the back teeth and am :censored: off with him too! FUN!

MEN! I'm going to wallow in the bath with Vanity Fair I think. He can make it up to me when he thinks about getting off his butt!

tootoot 05-01-2005 03:35 PM

kykaree 05-02-2005 09:18 AM

Poor frus, yet another case of SMS - stupid man syndrome. I go to the pictures on my own these days. Still annoyed that I got dragged to Bourne Identity when I knew I didn't want to see it, on the one condition that he went to see Suzie Gold with me, and didn't keep his side of the bargain. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I'm bored today, the gym is shut, and I am at a loose end :(

tootoot 05-02-2005 10:18 AM

tell me about it kyk im bored, gym has dared to close for holidays and im on a mission to eat everything in the house by tea time!!

kykaree 05-02-2005 10:29 AM

I couldn't face shopping in Manchester today, not after tryig a million pairs of pants on yesterday. I think I might go and have a nap, after all, an hours sleep does burn 55 calories!!! My cat is snoring away next to me, she's the only creature I know who can snore louder than the dh.

Dippy Chip 05-02-2005 11:13 AM

Wow. Frus, you're bloody gorgeous, and so darn skinny! Wish my boobs were distinct and separate entities from my stomach like yours are - I'm just one continuous amorphous wobbly mass from my chin to the top of my thighs  !!

WTG you!!! :cb: :cheer:

Janey :dizzy:

veggie 05-02-2005 11:31 AM

 Yes she is annoyingly thin and good looking.

2frustrated 05-02-2005 12:46 PM

Awww shucks you guys! :o

I don't usually look that good (think flat scraped back hair and no-makeup-just-got-out-of-bed blue circles under eyes!)

The guy who took the picture said, "You scrub up well!" Was that supposed to be a compliment!

BTW those jeans are a 16, not quite skinny yet!

kykaree 05-03-2005 01:13 AM

Excuuuuuuuuuuuuse me Miss I'm-still-Fat-I'm-a-Size-Sixteen, Ms I'm-so-happy-I'm-in-a-Size-22-I-told-everyone-in-Etam says get with the programme, you are slim and gorgeous so quit your moaning!!!!!!!

BIGGIRL27 05-04-2005 09:51 AM

Hi Girls

Now that I understand how these posts work I should probably introduce myself properly! :-) My name is Tammara (pronounced like 'camera'). I'm American, living in Preston with my hubby Eric. We moved here about 9 months ago. In that time, I managed to gain weight, get a great job, realise it was a not-so-great-job, then realise if I didn't go I would A - physically harm my manager, B - start gaining more weight from the digestives I was downing to 'cheer myself up' or C - accept my fate as a morbidly obese workplace rebel. I decided to resign.

I now have lots of free time on my hands to search for a new job, exercise, write in my journal and figure out how I allowed myself to waste my twenties thinking a mocha, a brownie, and a night in was a 'good time'.

Now that I'm clearing my head, I'm looking for support. I'm hoping I can use this site to push myself to new heights and pull myself up when I fall down. These days I'm feeling fairly motivated but as I have no UK friends (sniff sniff lol) it can be hard at times. Especially since Eric weighs 10st, has always weighed 10st and is capable of eating 5 sandwhiches in one sitting loaded with butter and mayo!!! Auuuuuaggghhh!!! (and I'm not exaggerating, just jealous!)

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you girls and I hope I can be a good 'buddy'. Any Lancashire/Preston residents here?

BTW Veggie thanks for writing back... I got confused, lost your msgs :) and couldn't respond!

Good luck everyone!

veggie 05-04-2005 10:55 AM

I'm about an hour and half from Preston by train. ;) Officially in Cumbria though.

2frustrated 05-04-2005 11:17 AM

I have an annoyingly thin Fiance, he can eat a whole packet of cherry bakewells in one go! A WHOLE PACK!

But, vengence is mine! I weighed him last night, and I weighed myself! I'm a whole 2lbs lighter than him! VICTORY DANCE FOR ME! (he's 6'2" however :o )

The Primark in Manchester is HUGE! I love it! There's a TK MAXX in the same shop too!

veggie 05-04-2005 12:30 PM

Oh don't my sister dragged me into the Manc tk maxx/primark it was horrible.

Congrats on beating your Fiance. ;) Sounds like a wild night!

kykaree 05-04-2005 05:41 PM

Hey there Big Girl, I am in Ramsbottom near Manchester, so not so far away from you. I am a big girl too, not a lightweight like the likes of miss frus (she'll thump me with a pack of digestives now!!!)

If you want a buddy I am here. I can so relate to a lot of your issues, I came over from Australia three years ago, had three awful jobs, but now am really settled and happy again, and am ready to lose all these pounds that seem to have attached themselves to my body, not sure how they got there!!! Hmmmmmm fish and chips, chinese, curry oh yes it's all coming back to me!!!!

Hang in there chicken, and I'm here if you ever want to chat

Kylie

veggie 05-04-2005 07:21 PM

cat90 05-04-2005 08:31 PM

Hi Girls

Nice Pic Frus ;) have you had your hair cut or is it tied back? How come you're in a size 16? you're four inches taller than me..weigh the same and I'm in a size 14 and some 12's :dunno: its weird :dizzy: I won't grumble though  he-he

I've given up on the supersize me song :rollpin: I can never get those zipped files open :dizzy: I always muck it up :(

I went to the quacks tonight because my arm is really hurting :( turns out i've damaged my bicep tendon and need to take anti-imflammatory's and have physio  its not covered by medical so if I decide to go ahead..it will cost about $50 a session :rollpin: Damn!

BIGGIRL27 05-05-2005 04:45 AM

Hi Gals

I do like Preston, not too city, not country, lots of shops... it's great! I moved from a town in Pennsylvania USA called State College, it lies in the valley of the Allegheny Mountains. England aint got nothin' on the rainy habits of that place! I really like the weather here actually. Only issue is there aren't very many jobs here so commuting is a must and of course like Kryk I HAVE NO FRIENDS!!!! lol

Eric and I do like to go out to the pubs every now and then for the atmosphere but because we're cheapskates most times we buy a nice bottle of red, light some candles and make a gorgeous meal together. At home, I rarely cooked because me and my friends were always out and about, hitting this place and that. Those were the days! Friends! (sigh) lol

2frustrated 05-05-2005 09:55 AM

Cat those jeans were a 16, but I recently went shopping for funeral gear and am really a size 14! MAD! I wear size 12 T shirts, but can't really get away with anything else cos of the big HOOTERS! I've had my hair short for a while it looks a little funkier!

Hey BIGGIRL, why don't you join an aerobics class or something and make friends that way? 2 birds with one stone!

2frustrated 05-05-2005 10:01 AM

Oh I forgot to say I had my first exam today and it went really well

I'm off to vote next...

veggie 05-05-2005 10:25 AM

Yay voting ;) I have beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen. :D Yes I enjoyed it.

I only ever seen one street in Preston you come out of the station then it's up and down the street with shops then back to the station.

veggie 05-05-2005 10:26 AM

Oh yes what I meant to post - :p

I'm not going to fat club :( I have stayed the same and I need to save money this week :(

tootoot 05-05-2005 02:26 PM

im not voting.........unless one of the parties has included in its manifesto to make low fat foods cheaper, gyms cheaper, general losing weight easier
seeing as theres no chance of that im not voting:rofl:
well done on the exam frus.... be careful though youll turn into such a smart cookie youll want to eat yourself

2frustrated 05-05-2005 03:52 PM

Hey that might work.... If I could eat my flabby bits... HEY! Isn't that what we do anyway, from the inside...?

MadamDotty 05-05-2005 03:55 PM

Hi all

Not been around for a while, but I'm back, with a vengence, determination & motivation. So what's happened you ask, well I've got nowhere this year, my healthy eating & exercise hasn't resulted in much, if any, weight loss, mainly cos I wasn't doing the exercise part of it, and then slowly, but surely, I've been adding more and more naughties to my diet, and so my weight is going back up again - what a surprise!! I was totally fed up with it all and didn't want to go back to a proper diet (i.e. counting calories, or points or whatever) and I happened to read a post on another forum (not as good as this forum of course) which has just given me the push I needed.

The post was titled "all the motivation you'll ever need", and was basically about this girls mum who was in her 80's and in hospital and the girl who had posted had said that it hit her that old age will get us all in the end and she didn't want to waste her younger years always dieting and being unhappy, she wanted to enjoy the time before it was too late (it was written much better than that!) It really hit a nerve with me, I've never been happy with my weight - for the last 11 years I've been overweight and been on a constant diet, with my weight yo-yoing up and down, but not too much in the down direction. I'm only talking about 2 to 3 stone, usually around the 2 stone mark, but I've never got back down to my pre-pregnancy weight, which is going back the 11 years. Before that, I was a bit overweight, not much, but the annoying thing is, I didn't realise or appreciate how good I looked. I remember in my 20's hitting 9½ stone and being horrified, and feeling a right fattie! If only I'd realised! 9½ stone is now my goal weight and I would be over the moon to get back down there again, but to get under 10 stone will be just fine and dandy with me.

So what I'm rambling on about is, that I've decided to STOP WASTING TIME (hence the addition to my sig below) and get on with it once and for all. I'm continuing with the healthy eating (minus the extras that have been creeping in) but realy getting going on the exercise front and to that end I've started jogging (am now so stiff I can't even walk - so not feeling too good at this moment in time!) but I jogged yesterday and this morning with my hubby, who's supporting me, even got up at 6 to go out first thing as I just won't get around to it any later in the day!

I am so determined this time, I really feel this is make or break, if I don't do it now, I probably never will. I'm 41, still relatively young, and I'd like to be slim and fit whilst I'm still young enough to enjoy it!

Phew, nuff said. Wish me luck :crossed:

tootoot 05-05-2005 03:59 PM

good luck dotty............. and youre bound to have burned a few calories typing all that out whew

MadamDotty 05-05-2005 04:05 PM

tootoot 05-05-2005 04:09 PM
