I've posted this elsewhere, and I think it's pertinent here...

You set a precedent. One day becomes two days, becomes a whole week - you look back, and think, "I've come this far..." A week becomes a month. Eventually your brain forgets the detours you used to take. You just have to set the precedent; that precedent is what you fall back on when the urge arises again. Like addicts and their sobriety.

Certain foods may be addicting for you (i.e., sugars/carbs or fast foods) - those foods are *DESIGNED* to trick your appetite. It is how junk gets sold to the public. The food companies tell us, "it's what the public wants!" But, that's a copout. Those foods are poison and a drug. What they are really doing is hijacking your senses - placing the bar too high for anything with less fat or less salt or less sugar - anything that is as nature intended.

What I tell myself is that I don't want to be a victim anymore - of the crimes perpetuated by the food marketing machine. I am not their sucker. I am better than that. I liken it to cocaine. I wouldn't put cocaine in my body, so why fast food? When essentially, it has a similar function? A way to hijack the brain - an unnatural high. I want what's real, what's natural, not to be hijacked to an unnatural state.

Just a suggestion, if it's mc donalds then Im sure learning about veganism would completely stop your massy d's addiction.
But I would say, like any addiction, you have to be ready to fully let it go. If you do want to, veganism is a sure fire way to do it. I used to LOVE fast food. Now I don't go near it and I've never been tempted since, i just struggle with pizza and cookies now which you can get vegan
I hope you find the right thing for you hun!! Best of luck!

I eat @ McDonald's on my weekly errand day & nomatter what sandwich I order, I tear off the surrounding bun crust/edge where the highest calories are or I sometimes eat it open-face, saving the other bun half for one of my doggies.

I was a B.King shift manager once & learned that ppl can order salt-free French fries. Or ask for a veggie burger, just ask to have your hamburger patty substituted with a side salad & get a packet of dressing on the side That takes care of my cravings, if your McDonald's won't do that, go to B.King their slogan 'Have it your way' is true.

For a low calorie cold treat, my Dh & I get a soda w a bigger cup & order a ice cream cone w/o the cone & make a diet ice cream soda @ their fountain

I also substitute bacon, for the big fattening sausage patty on a sausage biscuit, it's 1 short slice of bacon cut in half. I ask for their tiny honey packet to squeeze on my biscuit

Their oatmeal is good also. You can eat at fast food restaurants healthy by substituting a yummy, lower calorie food. They are there to keep the customer happy & keep profits up.

Have a great summer & enjoy eating nomatter where u go & 'Have it your way'

I know its very difficult to resist you from McD food but you have to think about yourself and boycott it completely.

I can understand the convenience issue. I am a vegetarian also, and have gone there maybe 5-6 times in my life, mostly for fries. I go to a fast food place maybe once or twice a year (getting the BK veggieburger).

My top cooking tool is the rice cooker. I make nearly everything in it.

Hi, I also have a Subway addiction It's my favorite fast food restaurant to eat at. I eat there 2x every week & they serve breakfast all day.
Their sub buns are way too filling for me so I eat the whole wheat flatbread sandwich The fresh veggies are so tasty that I don't get any dressing on it. The shredded mozzarella cheese is less fattening than the sliced cheese so my sandwich is a good choice for me
If I'm in the mood for a salad, I have a good variety of veggies to choose from & they chop the spinach to your liking when you want spinach.

The best way to kick a habit like this is to replace it with a healthier solution. Find someone else you can eat that is healthier but that can replace your McDonalds craving...

I do go to McDs occasionally for a sausage burrito (300 cal) or sausage mcmuffin (380 cal). I can't stand anything else except fries. When I got "healthy" I stopped the fast food train and got off. I plan, plan, plan so I'm not tempted. If I do need a lunch out, it's Subway, wrap or oat bread and regular mustard. The key to my success was planning so I always have healthy food with me.

Hi, roobear. And I was using before fast food, but after I used a recipe for weight loss, I lost very much weight. And now I want to get fat, I put something on my body weak. I tried to eat much, I even tried food from McDonald's but to no avail. I took the chocolate Coke but no results. I weigh 59 kg and aged 31 years, I think it's not normal.
I would like to know how to have further put some fat on me?
I forgot to specific. I work very much in the automotive industry. I always moving and standing work 8 hours per day.

I hope someone help me with good advice to give results.

What you have have written is brilliant! Well done!!! I have thought along these lines and whole heartedly agree! The food industry is about profits more than people's good health. It is easy to become addicted to certain foods because of the use of sugar in all its forms, refined white flour, and flavor enhancers and additives.

In reality you could eat a meal from there once a day but rest of the day you have to only eat another 500 calories and that's including drinks... at first why don't you try having it 1 time a week say Saturday work hard all week and that could be a sat treat... then once a four night it something for you to work at something u enjoy that don't have give up completely just once a week or every two as a treat.. of not Google a obese person heart look at the images and see what this doing to your heart compared to a healthy heart it's quite scary
