Default Hello - new to the boards

Hello,

I've been lurking on here for a little while, so decided I would introduce myself. For the past two years, my weight has steadily increased and my attempts at dieting have failed. I returned to W.W last year but found that I actually gained weight!

The new style W.W doesn't work for me, so I've swapped to one of the supermarket diet plans and have so far lost 5lb - hurrah!

I feel like I'm alone on this diet journey as I find that if I tell people around me, they only try to encourage me to eat all of the foods I'm trying to stay away from or keeping telling me "you don't need to lose weight". I've even had people literally put high fat/calorie foods under my nose to try to tempt me!! Grr! I find it very frustrating and very unhelpful. What is it with other people wanting to sabotage diet attempts? So this time, I'm not going to talk about it and will wait for them to realise once they see that I've lost weight!

Bye for now! :-)

Welcome, Srawberry!

Unfortunately you're always going to get the odd person who is completely thoughtless and doesn't understand (or want to) about what you're trying to achieve. I get them too - like last night when two eternally skinny friends told me to be careful I didn't go too far.....and I'm only 2/3lb under the top limit of the healthy weight range - hardly too far!

Do it for you - noone else. And just smile and say no thanks when someone tries to tempt you and think where that strength will get you.

Hello and welcome, looking forward to sharing your journey with you! Make sure you come here often, it's a really valuable part of losing weigh success, especially I think if you're not going to a class/support group in the real world. This place becomes amazing, I wouldn;t have got this far without it!

Hi

Strawberry, I'm the same I am surrounded by people who tend to ignore me when I say I'm trying to lose weight and don't understand how hard it is, I decided last week that I'm not even going to tell anyone this time round and just keep a positive attitude about my eating and weight loss ..... but then I decided I definitely need support ha ha, So glad I found this group just fromreading through soome of te pists this evening I feel more motivated and positive
