....I feel this forum is a great inspiration to me, and thanks to each and every one of you for your help over the last 12 months.
Full of useful info and if I ever need any help/advice about diet and exercise I always come here first.
Can anyone explain why during the 2 weeks over christmas I ate like a pig and didnt do any exersize but lost 1lb then after a week back on track I put 1lb on, then during the past week, which I thought was the most successful diet and exersize week since I started a year ago, I put on another lb???
I did five 2 miles walks this weeks! I ate really healthily and did lots of other exersizes at home!
Im so confused, should I stop exersizing and eat like a pig again?!
Well done Cathy, must be all the walking you do. I think I need a treadmill....must talk to Dave about it, hehe.
Chi-Chi, I think Carol could be right and you are gaining due to the muscle building up with all the exercise, I think Steph wrote about this happening to someone in another thread somewhere. It was explained really well.
Chichichi...can you pinpoint one food that you are eating a lot of maybe there is one food that is a trigger for you..are you eating a lot of potatoes? or something else..it could be something as stupid as to much salt...or even to much flour..the only thing i can suggest is that you eliminate the things that you eat a lot of one at a time and substitute something else then see what happens...i don't think it can be muscle because from what i've read it takes ages to build that up.
I have lost 1/2lb this week and am not too impressed, it had better be good next week or I am going to stamp my foot lol!!
Strill it is in the right direction, I have a lot of dieting distractions coming up in the next few weeks so need to keep on tracking!!
The only thing I can think of that maybe I eat too much of is bread coz I always have toast for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch, but I could try swapping toast for cereal I suppose but its a bit difficult to have anything other than a sandwich for lunch coz its needs to be something that I cant make quickly in the morning and carry round college with me til lunchtime, I cant really afford to buy lunch everyday.
But I ate lots of bread when I first started trying to lose weight and I lost over a stone!
Hmmm, Chichichi..the only thing i can suggest is that you post what you are eating during the day here and maybe something will 'jump' out at one of us as a I could even input your 'diet' into my calorie counter (if you're not using fitday) to check that too
Well done TQ, any loss is a step in the right direction.
I like a good foot stamp, gets all the agression and tension out of you
What about salt Chichi, their is a woman at my class who sticks to plan, so she says, and rarely losses, but she adds a lot of salt to her food and this was dehydrating her and her body was hanging on to every little bit of fluid she drank.
I have no idea how much salt this woman adds to food, must be an awful lot.
One very happy bunny here.
A 6lb loss this week...sounds really impressive at this stage of the game doesn't it...I know it is only the fluid I gained from TOM, and if you look at it the other way, it means, I haven't actually lost any weight for the past 2 weeks...lets not look at it that way then
I'm just happy it has gone again, can't wait for this last 7lbs to join it too
A good week for me, I lost 3lbs and I did a naughty evening of pizza & ice-cream with a friend, so I'm well pleased with that, although some of it is from the previous week, when I expected a better loss but didn't due to TOM.
So a good start to the year, i too have some dieting distractions coming up next month TQ, so I'm trying to get a head start with it, so to speak!
Chichi, I wonder if it is water retention, someone mentioned too much salt, are you drinking your water daily, as your body will hold on to its water if you're not drinking enough. It's so frustrating when the scaled don't reward your hard work, but sometimes this weight loss business is a law unto itself.
My advice would be to carry on with the good work, keep exercising and drinking loads of water and it should catch up with you. Best of luck
