Default Help with metric conversion please!!

hya,

Ok i put in my rough weight to convert it into lbs so that i would know roughly what people weigh as many people go by pounds here

Right so i found two different pounds

the first one said 196lbs (avoirdupoir)
the other one said 238lbs (apothecary)

Anyone know what the heck is going on??? im confused on which one people go by.

Many thanks in advance!!

Can work out 10 stone is 140lbs, but need to borrow lots of fingers and toes to count any further than that

We weigh and measure in avoirdupoir (until they invented metric that is). Apothecary is, as the word suggests, a specialist system for weighing herbal and drug like substances.

14lbs to a stone and 2.2 lbs to a kilogram

Unless you are American that is! I am not 100% certain what their measures are but I know they are slightly different.
