Thumbs down Dieting when living abroad

Hi everyone. Iīve been reading all your threads over the last few weeks and have tried to register but have had a few problems. I live in Germany with my husband and two daughters but originally come from the West Midlands. Where I live in Germany, I have found very little in the way of low-fat products or diet foods. Has anyone got any good tips for yummy recipes that dont need hard to find ingredients. Please Help.

Hello, fuseaddict! I am from the States and also live in Germany-Berlin. I have been here one and a half years and have also had great difficulty finding low fat items--let alone non fat! It really takes lots of work and persistance, but many of the recipes can be adapted. I have several W.W. cookbooks and you just have to pick and choose what will work. I have lost weight slowly, just 22 pounds over several months. Stick with it and don't give up!P.S. What are Fuse bars?

WHAT, you donīt know what a fuse bar is?I shouldnīt really go into too much detail as we are on a dieting thread, but a quick description is needed. Cover your ears if you like chocolate. Ok, itīs a cadburys bar of milk chocolate (iīve started to saliva already), and inside is a FUSion of nuts, raisins and other yummy things. Theyīre my absolute favourite. Fortunately for my diet, I canīt get them here, I live in Nurenberg.
Thanks to everyone who has replied so far.

Hi Flumper

Hope youīre feeling a bit better now. I had a day just like yours last week.
Here in Germany, itīs mostly nestlesī that is sold but last christmas I did notice a few cadbury bars in a shop in the City, itīs a good job we dontīvisit the city much!!!
I went home for a family wedding last year and for a joke the father of the bride gave me a red-cross parcel to bring back home with me- Of course he knew about my fuse addiction and inside was a box full of Fuse Bars, well needless to say, I was more excited than my wedding night!!!! (ok, nearly as). Anyway, on 28th April was the day of my last bar, it was sad!!
