Default Memory of a Goldfish- Can you help?

I can't believe that 4 years have pasted since I last logged in ! Here I am again, starting out with the best intentions to shed some pounds. Stones..... I have a quarry full of them to shed. I'm not looking to show off in a bikini this summer, I just want to feel better. My knees are really suffering and I don't have to tell any of you just how tired and old a person feels carrying so much extra weight. I think I have about 7 stone to lose to be near a normal range for my height but to be honest I would be happy losing 3-4 stones.

And so my journey starts again.......

I need help. I have been trying to locate a small magazine that contained nothing but the calorie / fat grams of food. It was great. It had listings from all the major supermarkets, a lot of fast food places and just general listings. It was about the size of a readers digest magazine, and the paper was not glossy. I seem to recall that it was published quarterly. I would really appreciate it if some one could give me any information on how I could track down a copy. I have been to a number of high street magazine/book stores and no one seems to stock it anymore. I actually found my last copy in a garden centre of all places.

I have decided to start keeping a food diary and count calories and I feel so unorganised with out a copy. I am currently using a small reference book with information in it but it's just not the same.

Thank you

I have a small calorie counting magazine for general and labeled products which I bought from WH smiths, you should be able to pick one up there!

Good luck with your journey, you've took the first step by deciding to lose weight, go for it!

This sounds like a really useful thing to have, so I'd definitely be interested to know where you locate this guide if you manage to find it! Sorry that I can't be more helpful.

The only thing I would say is that I've come across a couple of calorie counting websites that seem to have a lot of information on products found in the UK, including supermarket brands. One that I remember using was called Nutracheck, but I just looked on it now and there's a possibility you might be restricted to the number of searches you can do for nutritional information if you haven't paid to sign up. I'm not sure about this though, as I know I used to search on it all the time without paying a penny. It was definitely useful to be able to find information on products from Tesco or Sainsbury's that just weren't on the calorie counting sites based in the USA.

Best of luck with your weight loss!

Hi there Tina, Welcome back

have you tried the website foodfocus.co.uk, it gives you just about every food's calorie content & fat content as well as having an exercise journal and eating diary if you want it. Plus it's totally free.

Good luck, you can do it, x x
