Exclamation Sugar Free!!!

oh low and behold please tell me im not the last to know about this, but ive been eating a lot of "sugar free " gum and drinking loads of diet coke. well ive had a dodgy tummy to say the least but it seems that the sweetners used in sugar free gum and also diet coke and many other sugar free products, mainly sorbitol sorbitol contains a substance called phenanylin(sp?) which produces laxative side effects!!!!!!!!!!!! no bloody wonder they help with weight loss so no more sugar free gum, polos or anything else now for me......even the diet coke is banned from the house , ill do the deed and drink the water

Yup! Does that to me as well - and gives me headaches if I have too much of it.

Another name for it is, I think, Aspartame.

This is going to sound daft... but I eat a lot of mints so it IS relevant......

Is there a big calorie difference between the sugar free polos and the ordinary ones?

And..... Jan...... was there a reaction??
