I'm still in bed. Been to GP today, BP is a bit lower but still high. Got my scan tonight. I am plodding along with my OU course now that they have rebound my text books for me. Apart from that been watching TV and playing games on the internet. The nerves in my left side are definitely starting to work again, am in alot of pain. Put pain is positive, so mustn't grumble.

Hey all meant to post yesterday but was very busy.
I had my first weigh in on Tuesday night and I lost 11 pound, very pleased. I know most of it will be water with it being my first week but still pleased.

Working on next week now its going ok but had a terrible two days. Got people all around me saying I must lose weight and its just getting me down, do these people honestly think I like being this way and just sit around all day eating cake (I wish).

If one more person says `well just eat less and exercise more` I may not be responsible for my actions. If your see a story on the news of a large lady on a murderous rampage near Stamford then it`ll be me!!!!

Hope your all having a better time of it!!

Hey Ladies,

We aren't a very chatty bunch at the moment are we!

I fell of the wagon over the weekend so I am now trying to claw my way back to healthy eating.

How is everyone else?

Hello everyone

Just been trying to catch up huge huge job. I have huge internet problems,
eating hasn't been that great at points, a week in Ireland last month didn't help. My relatives just love to feed me and I love my grub, added to the fact I've just got out of the habit due to tiredness and just stuff indoors you know what its like.

Knightbabe are you ok? What happened have you had a stroke or have I got it very wrong?

Michele

Michele you are right. I've had 2! Small one then big one a week later. Scan results due Monday. BP has levelled off. Can walk about without stick as long as someone with me. Still need stick for longer distances or when tired. Sleeping loads at mo, apparently that is good as means my brain is repairing itself. My concentration is improving thanks to music therapy - stroke survivors improve if they listen to music.

Knightbabe I am so sorry to hear you are having such serious health problems. What a huge shock for you and your family. My father had a stroke when he was 58 he is now 65. His left side was affected mainly his arm. He still has no feeling in it but it isn't all dead and useless as it was when he first had the stroke. His blood pressure is under control now and he takes aspirin to keep his blood thin. A couple of years later he had a TIA (transient ishaemic attack) where the brain throws off little clots giving you the symptoms of a stroke but these go within a few hours, this would have been avoided if he hadn't stopped taking his aspirin when him and my mother moved into their bungalow. My father said he'd run out and was too busy to get any more!!! I wish you a speedy recovery and I hope you are getting the physiotherapy treatment that you need.

All is well here. I was out last night with the girls from work, we went to a race night. I drank only a glass of red wine since we were eating as well.
I had veggies lasagne salad and a piece of choccy cake it was lovely.
I've not been on the scales for a while, clothes aren't feeling quite as tight
but I've never struggled with maintaining weight as I have this year.
It's never ending honest to god.

Take good care everyone
Love Michele xx

UPDATE
Went for follow up for me stroke today. Also got results of MRI scan. I have been diagnosed with MS. I have been referred to a specialist for more tests to determine what type of MS I have. If I have any new symptoms in the mean time I have to go straight to hospital. Back at the stroke clinic in 3 months in the hope that I will have seen the other specialist.

((kn1ghtbabe))
I just joined here yesterday, started Xenical on Monday ( so far so good lol), and now have just realised that it is my birthday on Sunday. Now that in its self isn't a problem, I know that I'm making changes, and birthday or not, I'm sticking to those changes. But I said to my hubby last night, please please please don't get me a birthday cake. Get me a WW choccie roll if you have too, but no big cake. And he hadn't even thought of how hard it would have been for me if he plonked a flipping cake infront of me

Hey Knightbabe! - we have 2 things - no 3 things in common! An OU course (I am doing A103 - Humanities), HIgh BP and posting on this board. Hope you feel better soon. What course are you on (you may have said before).

Alibali- Make sure hubby sticks a candle in the choccie roll!!

I wish I could say I had been behaving but sadly a number of pairs of trousers are a bit tight! Back to the drawing board!

Peacock I am doin EK310 Researh with children and young people.

At midnite I got a wii fit. Have tried it today, it should help me recover from my stroke and help with my MS problems as well. It is great fun. Although puppy thought it would be good to try and bite me while I was doin it.
