Default Surviving Xmas

I don't know about anyone else but I'm dreading trying to keep to the weight loss over Xmas.

Everyone knows I'm trying to lose weight and they have been supportive but I know for a fact over Xmas they will all tell me to relax a bit and pick back up after Xmas and just enjoy myself. Im woried that if I do that then I will pile the weight on and be depressed by new year.

Any tips anyone?

Default stressed already..

Yes! I went through the same feelings last night. It hit me that Christmas here is surrounded by food. It's a tradition that's been around for as long as I can remember. Christmas day I cook the traditional turkey meal for our family and I think I can do okay (fingers crossed) if I stick to my program. Christmas Eve is bugging me because it begins with eating and stops only when we go to bed. I'm going to come up with a plan for myself, write it in my journal and read it or change it around if I must every single day from now until Christmas...even if I write one word. As for 'anyone' telling or asking me to lay back, they already know better. lol......I can be very assertive when I have to. It's coming up with a better plan than 'eating the holidays away' that's bugging me.
I would also appreciate any help at all!!

I will join the stress party. I am worried because I won't be at my house for nearly 5 days and I am so in control of what I cook myself these days (finally after many years) that I really hate not knowing what is in what I am eating. However, I even more hate having the fact I am on a diet being made a fuss of and can think of little worse than almost a week of a nearly mother in law (who is very nice but it could be anybody) fussing over my eating requirements.

ugh.

I seem to becoming more and more aware of how the shops keep pushing stuff at us (I'm not saying it's not me that picks it up, buys it and eats it etc) but has anyone been into morrisons/tescos etc recently? the aisles are heaving with xmas chocolate!

Anyway back on topic (sorry slight ranty thought up there!)... I just plan on doing what I normally do... with the exception of xmas day dinner... where i'll have a little bit of what I fancy but not masses. I guess the fact that I'm back in work dec 27/28/29/31 will be good as I'll be carrying on 'on track' as normal

Perhaps if you sit and pre-decide how you're going to tackle it it'll help rather than waiting for xmas to arrive and going along with the flow (just a suggestion)

Best of luck eitherways

I am only going to the folks for a few days so not unduly worried. As long as I knuckle down afterwards eh?

I feel confident enough that I won't eat a bunch of chocolates, etc. It is just the week worth of meals I am not cooking. I think I will get to know their area really well for the amount of walking around I will have to be doing.

I only have a few sweets that I really enjoy. They are the sweets that the family makes sure are made during the holiday season. This year no one is going to make them. If they aren't there, I can't gobble them down lol. There will be lots and lots of things for family and friends just not the two things I really like. They will get over it lol.

Last year I had M&S mushroom parpadelle for Xmas dinner. I may make it a tradition. I don't really like roasts anymore and I don't eat meat anyway my family will have all the usual though.

The whole 'losing weight before Xmas that you then put back on and take until March to lose' thought is depressing me though.
