Default Where to buy workout clothes in UK?

Hi everyone,

I've just moved to the UK (Edinburgh) from Australia, and I'm trying to find a cheap chain store or something, where i can just buy some cheap tank tops and yoga pants for the gym. I didn't bring any of mine with me from home because of luggage restrictions etc- I figured it would be cheaper to buy them here rather than pay for excess baggage.

But now I can't figure out where to go - all the clothing stores I've found here so far (ie. M&S, H&M, BHS... lots of abbreviations!) are v pricey for such basic items, and I haven't even seen exercise clothes in stock, although on my first shopping trip the other day my main priority was a warm coat so I wasn't really looking hard for workout clothes!

Where do you guys go for gym gear?

Thanks for helping a clueless Aussie.

I actually find M&S pretty good -i get jogging bottoms for £9.50 each which isn't 'too' bad (considering I have to keep buying new ones as I get smaller)

Tesco is perhaps worth trying? I'm not sure what others think but I actually think some of their stuff is good!

Asda used to carry relatively cheap and cheerful gym gear when I lived there - have a look!

There's a sporting goods chain called Decathlon, I don't know if there's one in Edinburgh, but their own basic stuff is good value for money.

If you are after general joggers and t shirts nothing fancy try any chain store. I got some stuff from Primark but hardly ever see size 18-20 and it does come up a bit skimpy at times. I have had stuff from Marks & Spencer, Mark One, Peacocks, Bon Marche, Evans etc. Infact I have no probs getting casual sporty stuff. I find it harder getting anything else! Also if you have a market near you that sells clotohes try there or the supermarket if it sells clothes (Asda, Sainsbury's, Tesco) Tesco did a real cheap thinnish t short (I took on holiday) bargain, only £1.50.

Have you tried Matalan? They normally have cheap jogging bottoms and basic t-shirts.
