I never buy much - just trinkets for the 'rents and if DH wants anything (not usually) then I will splash out.

Last year people were lucky to get a card! Ha!

Changed the oil in my bike today. Icky mucky job, but at least it will sound all lovely and purring this evening :) Not at all motivated to do any work. However the guys are out, so I really should do some just to prove I haven't been browsing etsy all morning! :o

Didn't run today, I couldn't drag myself out of bed early enough, I've been really tired recently. My dad came to work to have lunch with me today, it was good to see him, he's off work at the moment with depression/stress so it was nice to see him more positive, although he spent the whole time checking I was ok. He said I was losing weight nicely though :)

I'm pretty tired and have got a really busy week but looking forward to the weekend.

The C word! Yikes didn't think it was that close really. Was hoping to go out for walks but the rain has put paid to that. Don't fancy being ill again this year.

Bah. I've got a puncture!

I have called the RAC... About half an hour ago. Oh well, at least I'm not at work!

Hello everyone - I'm back. I've been away and off track for some time as my dad's cancer went into its final stages and he finally died a month ago. He had a prognosis of 18 months 6 or 7 years ago so he didn't do bad, tough old thing! He lived 150 miles away so by the end we were going down every fortnight (often with all or some of the kids in tow) to see him and all the travelling about and exhaustion threw me completely off track. I'd done so well as well losing all my excess weight - nearly 40lb.

I daren't even weigh myself to see the damage but am defo up a dress size. Anyway, dad was really thrilled for me last year when the weight had come off - he kept saying how great I looked and how well I'd done. So I can't let it slide anymore.

As some of you know my doggy (my running partner) also died at xmas so I had to stop running (where I live is too remote and scary, running past woods and deserted places, very big distances between houses). But at the moment I'm thinking s0d it, I'll just run anyway (the dog in my avatar is my other dog, and she doesn't do running. In fact she doesn't believe in exercise at all....)

Anyway be nice to see some familiar names around again, and get some support. I'm sure it's thanks to this place I lsot the weight and got fit - not one of life's yo yo dieters so how'd have thought I'd end up having to start over? But if I've learned owt, it's that your health is the most important thing you have. So lots of love to my 3FC friends and budge up, have you room for a not-so-little un?

Hi PhatPhoenix,

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, its good that you had the chance to spend time with him though before it happened.

I'm pretty new around here, but always up for a chat, I mainly get chance to post during the day.

Welcome back.

peacock 2 07-04-2007 04:55 AM

Sorry for your news Phatphoenix - understanderble under the circs if you have put on any. With your running dog gone now too could you not get another one that has more go than the one in your avitar - as you were obviously doing well with the running thing (hark at me, the sloth who never runs!). Good to have you back on board and you will soon lose that dress size!

2frustrated 07-04-2007 05:12 AM

 Phoenix. Sorry for your loss. You'll be fine once you get back in the groove, don't worry about having put a bit on, it'll soon come off.

Well I got my puncture fixed, the nice RAC man sorted it all out for me in my parking space :D There was a HUGE screw stuck in the back tyre :tantrum: Oh well. It's fixed now and I've only missed an hour and a half of work! Heh! But bonus - I got half price sushi in Tesco, so not a totally bad day!

Welcome back PhatPhoenix and I'm so sorry about your Dad.

kn1ghtbabe 07-04-2007 03:35 PM

PhatPhoenix, sorry about your dad. Weight gain understandable in the circumstances. Welcome back to the forum.

Hello All

I'm going to be going quiet for a while. Someone in my off-line life has discovered this website and has decided to tell all and sundry about my private stuff - my fault for being too open here, I suppose.

Anyway, bye for now.

piddlingaround 07-05-2007 04:24 AM

*Crawls back into 3FC dragging spare tyre*

I've been off the rails and off the wagon for a while now, but I'm back and hoping to stay on track!

Sorry to hear that Sarah Ann, hope to see you again soon.

crazy helen 07-05-2007 05:46 AM

Aw sorry about that Sarah Ann, that sucks

I'm pleased today, my first week on slimming world went well, I lost 6 pounds in my first week. I'm loving the slimming world programme.
