Jumping July chat......
summer .. where are you !!!!!!!!!!....
mm only 25 weeks until christmas!.... challenges at the ready ?? ;):dizzy: |
Wow I can't believe its that close to Christmas, that's coming around scarily fast. I don't take part in challenges, simply because everytime I have I've failed no matter how hard I've tried :moo:
I wonder when this bad weather is going to stop, I've got a BBQ planned for the weekend, and I'm hoping it'll be brighter by then. |
Cruel... cruel to mention Christmas.:fr: ;)
|
I'm am so very sick of this horrible weather - saying that it was quite nice here in Cambridge yesterday. Not boiling but not cold either - we had guests round so we ended up in the house all day. :(
|
Lou no no no not 25 weeks until christmas. That's just not right.
|
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please don't mention Christmas - I'll start obsessing and I'm depressed enough already. Although... in a way I'm glad to be reminded because I've decided not to do my normal Boxing Day party this year and it would be best to mention it to friends and family now so they can make other plans. I went to the doctor this morning - sounds silly but every time it starts to rain I start crying - and it was like a scene out of a third world documentary - the queue was so long that some little kids were asleep on the floor! They are giving out antidepressants / tranquillisers to just about everyone. Well, this house smells. Not sure what of, but it definitely smells. Sort of like a cross between unwashed damp dog and sewers. All of us, humans and dogs, aren't happy so we're moving out again until its fixed. Its not just us, several people are complaining about the horrible smell inside their homes the difference is that we can't find a trace that water got in the house. I'm wondering if the drains aren't working properly. |
Just a thought...
Peacock - I haven't received it yet but thats no great surprise because a lot of stuff we were expecting hasn't arrived. Chris - Could you send it to me again.... thanks.... although I'm not in to cooking at the moment. |
Ah  Sarah - hope you all get dried out soon. :rain:
Just cuddle those doggies and DH and it'll all sort out soon. :) |
sorry to mention the event in december....
washing machine is now fixed.. laptop booked in to be fixed b4 the cover thingy runs out.... the pin bit where the eletric lead goes it wobbly so switched of without warning.. grr bed sorted... shopping & cards to buy & post ... will go out in half hr or so,, hope to miss the after school rush.... hope the smells get sorted soon.... couldnt think of anything worse... :0( righto better get on..... lou x |
Must be bad if even the dogs notice it! Can't Ellie do a big fart to mask it all???
I didn't even remember we were in July now - thatnks for posting a July thread!!! |
Lou you've had a busy day!!!
Peacock I'm teaching summer school, I have the 9th graders. No fun but good money :) I'm skipping the gym today it's so nice out I'm going for a bike ride outside. I need to work out some agression I just got an $150 increase to my mortgage due to some stupid escrow shortfall. I called them because my taxes have gone down, not up, but now I have to fax them all of the info. I hate bad customer service. And......the person on the phone barely spoke English, so I'm not even really sure what I have to send :( Ok I'm whiney, time to go sweat it out. |
Ugh, I did 11 miles this evening (after 14 yesterday) and seriously ran out of energy a couple of miles from the end. Maybe that was a bit ambitious.
Don't mention December, this year seems to be going SO fast! Frus - is your toe better now then? |
Here I sit with 2 trembling dogs... there's a firework display going on about a mile up the road, sounds like they're in the back garden though :( I have all the doors and windows shut and the house is vibrating as it's so loud, can't think how dave is still sleeping. Nearly hit a few pedestrians going to collect Hannah's bike a bit ago, she's at the display and was worried someone would nick it....can't see anyone walking along side the road here, no paths, no streetlights...and I had the high beams on...grrrrrrr.
It was weigh an measure day again today, I'm down another 2 lbs, have lost 10 altogether in the four weeks and 15 inches and over 5% dy fat :) Am a happy woman. Sarah, hope the smell goes or you find what it is.... RSG... shame about summer school, but enjoy the money lovey.. Ok, time for a cuppa... see you all tomorrow. |
 Helen - yes toe is better enough to run on :) However it's a bit worse than it was last Wednesday, but that could be either because I have been running on it, or that I kicked a dude on Thursday with it
|
Well 2frus - if you well go around picking on the weaker sex......
All this talk of the 'C' word - CHr*stmas.... I dunno. I have told my lot they are all having money. I got fed up last year when people had already bought books after asking others to buy them for them and doubling up on pressies and stuff. I already have some books and stuff for my neice so I think I will just buy the kids presents - in any case the adults can never make up their minds what they want so it will be a lot easier and far less stressful for me! |
I never buy much - just trinkets for the 'rents and if DH wants anything (not usually) then I will splash out.
Last year people were lucky to get a card! Ha! Changed the oil in my bike today. Icky mucky job, but at least it will sound all lovely and purring this evening :) Not at all motivated to do any work. However the guys are out, so I really should do some just to prove I haven't been browsing etsy all morning! :o |
Didn't run today, I couldn't drag myself out of bed early enough, I've been really tired recently. My dad came to work to have lunch with me today, it was good to see him, he's off work at the moment with depression/stress so it was nice to see him more positive, although he spent the whole time checking I was ok. He said I was losing weight nicely though :)
I'm pretty tired and have got a really busy week but looking forward to the weekend. |
The C word! Yikes didn't think it was that close really. Was hoping to go out for walks but the rain has put paid to that. Don't fancy being ill again this year.
|
Bah. I've got a puncture!
I have called the RAC... About half an hour ago. Oh well, at least I'm not at work! |
Hello everyone - I'm back. I've been away and off track for some time as my dad's cancer went into its final stages and he finally died a month ago. He had a prognosis of 18 months 6 or 7 years ago so he didn't do bad, tough old thing! He lived 150 miles away so by the end we were going down every fortnight (often with all or some of the kids in tow) to see him and all the travelling about and exhaustion threw me completely off track. I'd done so well as well losing all my excess weight - nearly 40lb.
I daren't even weigh myself to see the damage but am defo up a dress size. Anyway, dad was really thrilled for me last year when the weight had come off - he kept saying how great I looked and how well I'd done. So I can't let it slide anymore. As some of you know my doggy (my running partner) also died at xmas so I had to stop running (where I live is too remote and scary, running past woods and deserted places, very big distances between houses). But at the moment I'm thinking s0d it, I'll just run anyway (the dog in my avatar is my other dog, and she doesn't do running. In fact she doesn't believe in exercise at all....) Anyway be nice to see some familiar names around again, and get some support. I'm sure it's thanks to this place I lsot the weight and got fit - not one of life's yo yo dieters so how'd have thought I'd end up having to start over? But if I've learned owt, it's that your health is the most important thing you have. So lots of love to my 3FC friends and budge up, have you room for a not-so-little un? |
Hi PhatPhoenix,
I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, its good that you had the chance to spend time with him though before it happened. I'm pretty new around here, but always up for a chat, I mainly get chance to post during the day. Welcome back. |
Sorry for your news Phatphoenix - understanderble under the circs if you have put on any. With your running dog gone now too could you not get another one that has more go than the one in your avitar - as you were obviously doing well with the running thing (hark at me, the sloth who never runs!). Good to have you back on board and you will soon lose that dress size!
|
 Phoenix. Sorry for your loss. You'll be fine once you get back in the groove, don't worry about having put a bit on, it'll soon come off.
Well I got my puncture fixed, the nice RAC man sorted it all out for me in my parking space :D There was a HUGE screw stuck in the back tyre :tantrum: Oh well. It's fixed now and I've only missed an hour and a half of work! Heh! But bonus - I got half price sushi in Tesco, so not a totally bad day! |
Welcome back PhatPhoenix and I'm so sorry about your Dad.
|
PhatPhoenix, sorry about your dad. Weight gain understandable in the circumstances. Welcome back to the forum.
|
Hello All
I'm going to be going quiet for a while. Someone in my off-line life has discovered this website and has decided to tell all and sundry about my private stuff - my fault for being too open here, I suppose. Anyway, bye for now. |
*Crawls back into 3FC dragging spare tyre*
I've been off the rails and off the wagon for a while now, but I'm back and hoping to stay on track! Sorry to hear that Sarah Ann, hope to see you again soon. |
Aw sorry about that Sarah Ann, that sucks
I'm pleased today, my first week on slimming world went well, I lost 6 pounds in my first week. I'm loving the slimming world programme. |

Welcome back Piddling!
|
sarahann - if you are still lurking - I have messaged you as I managed to lose your emai! When Yorkshire is 'dryer' I will post the thing again.
|
 We'll miss you Sarah.
|
 Sarah. Hope you still lurk.
I'm excited now, I've got my flight details for New York through, so it's definitely on :carrot: Now I just need to get going with the fund raising :yikes: I'm feeling a bit rubbish this week. On Monday I really ran out of energy during my run, and I've been feeling a bit below par all week. Yesterday I only made it to 3 miles before giving up (and ended up sitting in the car for about 10 minutes before I summoned up the energy to walk back into the gym to pick my bag up and shower), and today I was starting to really doubt whether I had the energy to cycle home after work. I usually feel OK in the morning then fade really badly. Mind you today that could have been something today with the couple of glasses wine I had with a client at lunchtime. I did make it home by the way. I think it calls for another early night tonight. I didn't even feel like celebrating hitting 148 this morning. That makes a nice round 8 stone gone, and I think that really is the lowest I want to go. Possibly a bit higher if it makes me feel like I have a bit more energy than I do at the moment, if this is more than just a bug. |
 All round! Sarah - that is horrid! What sort of meanie would snoop on you like that? How nasty. :p
Helen - I hope you're feeling better soon. Get plenty of sleep and plenty of rest. How about taking a couple of days off work, and a couple of days off running COMPLETELY and just sleep and chill out and fuel up. I think sometimes we're more susceptible to "overtraining" than we think. I got battered last night, but the good thing is I've set a date for my brown belt grading  :hyper: Which is the last week in July, so that will be fun :D |
hi all
pretty new here so still finding my way round the forums i`m kaz i`ve been on the cambridge diet 11 weeks now and lost 42lbs or 3 stones exactly :D look forward to chatting to you all well done on your weight losses so far kaz :D |
Sarah I hope you can somehow come back soon :(
Helen feel better, sounds like you need the couch for the weekend like Frus said just lay around and do nothing. Usually when I get sick I work out again too quickly and probably end up sick for longer that I would have if I had just relaxed. Quiet weekend planned for me trying to maintain a couple of pounds lost. Today I have to buy a stupid bike lock, I swear mine breaks about once a year. Have a great day all. |
Thanks everyone, but I think I'm feeling a lot better today. I went out and did 5 miles in the rain this morning, and I'm still awake which is an improvement on normal my normal state by this time on a Friday. I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunity for sleep over the weekend.
Welcome and well done kaz - you're doing well. |

I've increased my exercise this week and seem to have more energy. Just recently I've been in bed early but am staying up way later and getting up early ready and raring to do things.
Sarahann hope you come back soon. |
