Talking Weekly Chat

Hi Everyone...welcome to May! As you may notice from my weight ticker, I'm up another 2 pounds from a couple of weeks ago. ARghhhh! I seem to do well all week and then blow it on the weekend. I'm sortta frustrated with myself. I did not post my menu to Fit Day all week either...so it's back to the routine today. Have a good week everyone.

I used to do that, too. Now I just blow it all week long But seriously, the weekends are harder for me, too. I never feel like cooking (I view cooking as a chore, and I shouldn't have to work so hard on my weekends!), so we end up eating out more often than we should. I also don't have the same structured schedule as I do during the week, so I end up eating at random times and not keeping track of everything...it gets messy. But, it's why we're here, right? We'll find a way through it!

I had a great week last week, and I blew it on the weekend. I had an unexpected entire weekend at home, to myself, with no plans. I tried to hook up with some friends just to have some human interaction, but I only met up with one friend and that was at Buffalo Wild Wings! Well, back on track this week, and I'll be sure to fill my upcoming weekend with activity.

Oh, and I gained 3/4 of a pound at weigh-in last night. Ugh!

Default So Far, So Good

I am feeling motivated so far this week. Have been faithful in posting to FitDay so far - and have exercized every day. Yes, I know, the weekend is coming and that is the real challenge.

It's been really great walking weather here in Upstate NY. There has been a warm high weather system stuck over us for 6 days. That's unusual for us..so I'm enjoying it! The lilac festival starts next week here in Rochester and they should be in full bloom. Can you tell I'm bored at work right now??

Oh well. It's Almost Friday!!

Hope you are all doing well this week!!

Lilacs should be nice here in the next week or two, always right around my birthday. Awesome.

I keep thinking I'm back on the bandwagon, but then I realize I'm still on the ground and I'm seeing the bandwagon kick dust at me. Ha. I was doing well today until they brought in some leftover pizza from a managers' meeting ... ugh. Why is it that some days, it's second-nature to deny non-planned food, but on other days it's in my mouth before I can even think about how bad it is?

Default Friday blahs

Cant say I am in cheerleader mode this week.. Kodak announced the selling off of The Health Group... thats my division. yeah yeah I know I am close to retirement, lol... Im thinking I will jump off the ship just before they turn over the keys to a new owner, if that happens, still iffy I guess....What do others use to put charms on.?? I really liked the idea of having a sash, nobody else seemed interested. lol... Several still have vests from a long time ago...so we shall see what happens.... Everyone have a great weekend.....Barb

Barb...We used to wear a wide ribbon around our necks and crossed it low in front and pinned our favorite charms and pinnettes on it. It worked pretty well, but now it seems like people aren't very interested in wearing them. I'm going to make a vest (someday) to put mine on. I like the pin collection better than the charms.

Sorry about your division being sold off. Won't the new company keep you on just as it is now. I know that sometimes they keep the staff and everything is still the same. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Smile Happy Mothers Day

We decided to let everyone do their own thing with the charms and stuff... Lyn used a engineers hat and decorated it so cute... all her walking stars are on the brim, then her bracelet is across the f ront.. we should get a pic of that to show you.. then we are going to have a contest and judge the most orginal.....I have a lot of charms that I collected over the past 5 yrs or so... they wont all fit onto one bracelet which is full... one of the KOPS used pink felt and made a heart shape she wears her KOPS charms on. I just wanted to improve our g roup a little, a zealous new leader I am, lol.. nobody was even wearing name tags.. so I got a set of name badge holders and made them on the computer ....they are really nice too............well, enough of that... I WANT TO WISH ALL THE MOTHERS A HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.... TOPS HUGS, BARB

Default Yay, a good weigh-in!

I lost nine pounds this week! Woohoo! Makes up for the past two weeks where I gained like 8 pounds. So ... I'm at an all-time low (well, since the 11 months I've been in TOPS).

My TOPS group was only 3 people when my friend and I started in April 2005. This past month we had a new person join, and today we had a guest! Hopefully the guest will come back, then we will have 7 people!

I'm currently the weight recorder AND the stand-in treasurer while one of our members is on a 3-month overseas vacation. I like being involved. We also orchestrated a major clean job on the books and paperwork this spring, that felt good. I don't think that's been done since the 80s.

Since the group has been small, it's been easy for a lot of things to fall out of habit, like charms. How often do you guys get charms? I got my first charm at about 42 pounds, only because we cleaned and discovered that there were some *cute* little charms in there.

Quick stats: I've lost 49 pounds, went from a size 24 to a size 18, and my BMI has dropped roughly from 44% to 37%.

I track my weekly weight in an Excel spreadsheet with columns for weight, total pounds lost, pounds lost that week, BMI%, size, and comments; then I graph the weight loss over time. That visual graph makes a huge difference for me! I hate seeing it go up.

wow Barb no one wanted to go with you well if I lived there I'd have gone with you.

way to go a 9 pound weight loss is wonderful. I'm the co-leader of my chapter I would really like to see a loss this week since I was not there last week. We have about 20 members and about 10 come regualarly. I would like to think of a chalange or something to get everyone excited I'm just not sure what.

Exchanges has been around for a long time. The diabetic diet is bases on the exchanges too. Its very easy to do... I lost quite a bit on Diet Workshop on the exchange plan in the 70s... so yes, It can work very niclely..
Phastastica.. Great loss... keep the streak going.. I showed a 4 lb loss this week, and hope to keep it going.....
