Default Good Afternoon

Good afternoon everyone,
The board seems really busy lately, which is very good.
It's a very warm afternoon here is central FL. We haven't had any rain in weeks and we keep hoping it will come soon as everything is dry and the danger of forest fires is high.
Eleni...How are you doing? I have been thinking about you and wondering if you will be at SRD this year. And how are you doing with your bird feeders this year. My little Chiweenie thinks it is her job to chase away the squirrels and the birds from our feeder.
Quiltmama......I think that I saw you were from FL, also. Will you be attending SRD this year? It's very inspiring to see how well so many are doing in TOPS.
Christie...I am very happy for you, getting to graduate at SRD. If I ever get to my goal, I want to walk across that stage to graduate, too.
One of the women in my tops chapter challenged me to lose 10 lbs. by the end of April. I didn't really want to take the challenge, but I have been trying to get her to set a mini goal and work toward taking off 5 lbs., so I accepted the challenge. Well, the first week I gained 2.5 lbs. It's taken me 2 weeks to lose the 2.5 lbs that I gained. So now I am back to zero. I don't lose weight like I used to anymore, so if anyone has good tips on dropping 10 lbs., let me know.
To those of you that lost weight this week...Congratulations and keep up the good work. I can't remember everyone's name or how they are doing, but keep on trying and have a good week.
Some good vibes for you.

Thinking of you all
Nita

IM Barb, and I post now and then.. I live in Ny.. and believe it or not, it is 79 today. Its amazing, maybe winter really has left us.. I have been in Tops for about 5 or so year, longer than I thought originally, lol... If I reach goal, and that is my plan, hopefully by years end.. I will have lost 103 lb.... Its been a long journey that is for sure. I seem to be getting stronger in my determination to lose it... still having ups a nd downs like everyone does. Have a great weekend......

Hi Nita and Everyone

The weather is finally getting warm here too. We had a dry winter so we are already having some dangerous forest fires. I fear there will be a no-burn order issued very soon. (I live in rural Nova Scotia) So that means, no campfires in the backyard That is one of our favourite things to do on cool nights.

I am trying to lose 6 pounds by May 1st. That will put me down to 235. I have been trying to reach that mini goal since Christmas but it has been a long hard winter. This time I am really determined to do it. So wish me luck

Well, it is Saturday now and I think I will take the 4 youngest kids outdoors to play soccer, that should help me move closer to my goal. Have great weekend everyone!

cheers, cj

Hi Everyone,

Hi Barb...I've been reading your posts and congratulations on being elected leader this year. I was leader for 4 years, but gave it up to become weight recorder, which gives me a chance to try encouraging members as they weigh in. Good luck on your weight loss journey. It takes a lot of motivation and keeping focused to reach our goal. But we can do it!!!

CJ.. you can lose that 6 pounds this month. Stay on you food plan a day at a time and you will have a loss by the end of the week. And you have 4 weeks before May 1st. (think I'll take that advice, too. LOL)

Have a good weekend.

Hugs

Nita

HI everyone. Well I get weighed in on Monday mornings. I feel I have been doing good. We will see. It is hard not to starve myself on Sunday's or skip breakfast on Mondays but if I did, I would be only lying to myself. But it is so tempting!

I don't want to weigh the food that I just ate, so, I really have to confess that I don't usually eat supper on Monday before getting weighed in the evening. The meeting is usually over at 8:00 pm so I eat then, but it is hard because we usually eat at about 5:30 - 6:00 pm. It is tempting to starve all day, but I haven't done that yet. So I completely understand where you are coming from, Lill.

cheers, cj

Default Hi Everyone!

I lost this week..3.25# Hooray!! I exerciswed everyday last week and did 3 hours of yard work on Sunday. Also posted all of my food on Fitday. I do well when I keep track. So next week our club decided to have another challenge week. The loser of the week gets a dollar from everyone. We had one this week and had a good loss from the group and very few gains.

Have a good wek everyone!

That is a great idea for a challenge. I think I might suggest it at our group, since we seem to be struggling with losing lately.

Congratulations to you on the loss, that is terrific. You are almost in onederland! Wow!

It is so much easier to get exercise now that the weather is getting nicer, isn't it? I love fitday too. I couldn't do this without it. I especially love looking at the calories that I ate all week and seeing everyday is below my limit. That feels great!

cheers, cj

Default Monday night...

Lyn, You did great.. I know keeping track does help.. I lost 1.5 Our meeting was very nice last night. We had our installation of officers and awards night. We also had a nice little buffet after with lots of good food...
Lyn didnt tell you that the biggest loser also put the money we gave her into the easter egg game.. If you lose, you get to pick an egg... there is money in some and inspirational messages in some, the person with the most eggs at the end, gets the grand prize... yet to be determined.....Oh btw, there was $5. in my egg!!!!
Everyone have a great week...Barb

Well I went to my meeting last night. I gained another 3 and 1/2 pounds . I gained 4 in the last 2 weeks. Our new leader is so wonderful. SHe joined last week and got voted in as leader all at the same time.
We sang songs which was different but encourageing. I really needed that. She is younger and I am hoping she brings in some new members from her workplace.
I have started keeping my food journal again today. I usually start but then don't follow through with it the rest of the week. So wish my luck on that. I am going to ride my bike tonight after my day care kids leave.

Ya all, have a good day

Default Writing Down Foods Really Does help

Shelley,

I find that when I write down what I eat faithfully, I lose. Try really hard this week to follow through with your food diary. We're all cheering you on!

Did you go on your bike ride? Of course that helps too. It also really helps my moods when I exercise.

Here in NYS it snowed a bit last night and it's hard to think about going out for a walk. My poor crocus are snow-capped. Hopefully it will melt soon. I will go to the gym instead.

Have a great week.

Shelly, I hope you aren't too discouraged. I'm sure that you can turn things around. Have you ever tried fitday.com to track your calories? I'd be lost without it and it gives me an excuse to go on the computer.

Your new leader sounds like fun, I hope she gives you some of the inspiration you need. Best of luck to you.

cheers, cj
