Talking Do you workout?

Have you ladies incorporated exercise into your weightloss plan? What do you do? I do 30 minutes a day, usually on my treadmill, I just can't seem to commit to anything more. Now that the weather is getting nicer here I'm hoping that outdoor activites will help me to get more physical activity.

Yesterday I thought I would go on the stationary bike for 30 minutes instead of the treadmill. We have had it for months and I have never been on it. Well, let me tell you ~ you use totally different muscles on that piece of equipment, then you do on the treadmill! I am soooooo sore today, espesially in the posterior region. Wow, I think I'll go back to the treadmill toay

cheers, cj

Default Hi Ceejaye

I have been trying to exercise at least 5 times a week for about 4 years now. We have a fitness center at work (Hooray for J&J!!) and I do the eliptical, treadmill and once in a while the bike. You're right - they each use different muscles. I also do weight machines - but I don't like this as much as aerobic exercise - so I have to push myself to to it...maybe 2x/week. Each exercise session is 45 minutes to an hour - and i do some stretching (yoga) - but should probably be doing more. it feels so good to stretch and it's relaxing too. Now that it's warmer I'm walking outside more - I try for at least 45 minutes. The first 3 years i began the increased exercise i really didn't lose any weight. I noticed that I felt better and people commented that I looked better, but I really maintained. Now I'm also wirting down what i eat in a food journal and trying to keep my calories less than 1700/day. I just couldn't hack it on any less. This has allowed me to lose the 8 pounds you see on my wieght ticker. I need to lose 25 more to meet my goal. I plan to continue what I'm doing. What messes up my progress is when I skip TOPs meetings and don't write down what I eat. I know this is wordy, but hope it helps.

Keep up the GREAT WORK

Lyn

I exercise M-F. In the morning before work, I do my tummy tape and my bowflex. During my breaks at work I do 18 flights of stairs 2 times a day.

Actually the more you do it, the more you get used to it - you can still feel it in your thighs though let me tell you! After the first 6 flights, I take them 2 at a time for the other 12 - gotta work my butt LOL -- I thought I was going to die the first week I did this -- now I look forward to it, gets rid of great stress to pound those stairs.

Me too! That is really great;and two at a time!? I have short legs I can't imagine doing that!

You ladies are inspiring. I'm hoping to add more workout time to my day once I lose more weight. Honestly, being this big causes exercise to be quite painful at times, that is one of the reasons I avoid it. I'm just waiting patiently for the weather to get warm enough so that we can open up the pool because I swim everyday in the summer. I love it.

cheers, cj

I wish I could go up stairs. But alas some of us can't. I am trying to walk more each time I can. Does that count?

Default Exercise

Hello... I exercise but not consistently. I am working on that issue as I can.. I am older and have arthritis in my knees and troubles with my feet.. They hurt.. heel spurs and I had surgery on one too.... I belong to the local fitness center here.. Most weeks I manage to get in 3 days.. of about an hour... tread mill, bike and weight machines. I also take water aerobics too, that reduces the stress on my joints...
I walk outside a little bit, and plan to do more of this as the weather warms up..... We had a beautiful week here in NY.....
I follow the South Beach diet most of the time. I find that cutting carbs does it for me. I hate counting anything, lol..... I tend to yo yo and I know that is bad. I am working on that issue too.... when I stress I eat. I cant claim pms but I sure can get stressed!!! lol

I think I can do 2 at a time because I have longer legs (fat but long) but it evens out I guess (NOT) because I am so short (fat) waisted.

heck yea it counts, any walking or the ability to get up and move counts, you betcha!

With all this darn excerise & my diet from my nutrionist you would think I would be loosing more -- 14 in 2.5 weeks and this week so far nothing. Hoping it is inches lost so that counts too
