Default Cloudy Thursday

Hi all,

Mary Welcome to the tops board it is great to have you here. How are you doing with your first week. Try weighing in without your coat and shoes it will bring the scale down more.LOL Remember in the summer you won't have a coat for weighin. What plan are you doing? Are you exercising at all?

Susie,

Sounds like you have been having a lot of fun going to the movies and out and about. I am jealous girl.LOL Congrats on sticking to your plan and getting to your goals you have set for yourself. You are doing awesome. Keep up the great work.

Eleni,

I am glad they got the breathing under control that is a major thing. There isn't anything they can do about the water though? That is too bad. Tell your sister I am proud of her for becoming Queen. That is a major accomplishment and she should feel so proud of herself. Continue your great work with your plan. Do you notice any difference doing the south beach diet since you started?

I have been MIA myself for the past week. I haven't been doing well and I skipped out of weigh in this week like a coward because I was up. But I wasn't doing what I should either. Thanks to christie and wendy I am back on track and I am motivated to start heading in the right direction. I started exercising again yesterday and sticking to my points and drinking 1 gal of water daily. I was back down this morning to 188 where I weighed in at last tuesday. So I am happy I am on the way down again. I am re-energized and ready to go again. We didn't have a meeting today for the support group because the lady had to go to a funeral but I weighed in anyway and recorded it and I turtled from last week. So I was happy because it wasn't a gain.
The only other exciting thing going on here is that my little guy is starting to walk. He started Easter morning. Everyday he is walking further and further. I just keep scooting back when he is walking to me. It is very exciting.

How is everyone else doing? I have my water in for the day, my 3 miles on the bike done and my floor exercises done. So I am good to go. Just have to finish out the 12 points I have left for the day. No problem.

Have a great night everyone.

Sherri

Hello,
I'm swamped at work (I don't like this feeling!) but I thought I would take a little "me" break and read the boards.

Tonight is weigh-in night. I'm hoping for another loss as I've been working for it. I had lunch with two friends of mine today. I used to be really close to these girls then life got busy. We still can pick up where we left off though. We went to Wendy's, I had a Jr. Cheeseburger, and ordered a small fry (which looked really big), so I asked them to not order fry and share mine. That was a good plan...don't you think?

One of the girls was talking about when we used to work together 13 years ago and she said, you look so much smaller now than you did then. Well, you know what ladies? I didn't weigh as much then as I do now (I was about 25 lbs thinner then) but I didn't exercise then..that goes to show you what exercise can do for you.

Sherri: How exciting that your little guy is walking...aren't they fun to watch? I'm really proud of you for getting back on plan. I know that we shouldn't skip the weighin when we think the scales will be up, but sometimes I know I just couldn't take it if they were, so when it's that way, I don't go. I don't let that happen to often..got to face the consequences most of the time.

Eleni: How wonderful for your sister! Glad to hear that you are doing better.

Ok..got to get back to it. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Default Hello again

Hi all. I'm still getting the hang of addressing all of you. I'm guessing I'll have to take note. Lady06498... I'm just getting over a bad cold where I'd lost most of my appetite, so once I get to eating normally again, I'll probably do WW's Points or something similar. I like to cut down on portion size, watch the fat and calories and drink LOTS of water. As for exercise, I'm still getting my color back and I've only done ten minutes on my "dreadmill". It's a motorless treadmill, so it's very hard for me and my short turtle legs.

I hope everyone is doing great.

Hello all
Sherri I will tell you what I told my daughter Rebekah the other day.Christopher is about ready to turn loose and walk alone.Watch out as you are going to be in for it now Those boys will be going strong once they get the walking down good.It is so special when they learn new things. All of my 6 were slow about walking but thank goodness for play pens. I know you young girls don't use them like us old folks did.But they saved my sanity.I had too many little ones to chase Good thing I was young.I look back sometimes and wonder how I survived. But that is what makes mothers one of the great wonders of the world. You need to send me a new picture of the kids. You too Penny and Christie. I still keep all your pictures right by my computer.I have a special big picture frame.that Bill hung up for me.It is one foot by three foot.
I am doing good on the SB.I have not lost as much weight as some people do but I feel better. Both of my top losers for the quarter are both on it.One lady has lost 30.5# and the other about 12#. It is a good safe food plan and it does work.

hotcupjava WW's is a good program. My sister lost about 50# doing it and then lost another 20#+ on SouthBeach. Any food plan that has you eating less(But healthy no fad diets)and moving more will work. Just don't go to extremes on anything or you will burn out. Keep going to your tops meetings as you never know when they will have something that will help you.

Susie You did good with the fries.I probably would have eatten them once I smelled them.My hubby is dying for some fries. Smell has a big impact on us all. You are right about skipping weigh in because you are up.But you are not alone.I have to admit that if I were not leader I would be tempted to stay home too. But it really is when you need to go the most.Hopefully you have a good chapter that will not make you feel bad. Altho I rarely do it I am quilty of letting a person not weight in when they are extremely upset about weighing in. I have only done it 4 or 5 times in all the years I have been leader but We are there to help not just to enforce rules. I do bend the rules for the betterment(is that a word?) of my members. But if I have someone so upset that they are crying about weighing in I will make an exception. They made themself come and that was not easy for them.
Yes exercise can certainly change the way your body looks and feels. And everyone can find some kind to do even if it is just a bunch of good stretches each day.
Hello to the rest of you. i have rambled on long enough. It looks like we are going to have a nice day.The sun is already shining bright outside. Have a great day

Java, Turtle, or Mary is fine. Or any combination of the three...

I had the gastric by-pass in 1999... but it was not very successful and I have no eating restrictions from it (the loss took less than a year). Long story. But my weight loss is NOW up to me and me alone.

Mary I have 2 ladies in my chapter who had the surgury.Altho it was sucessfull they still struggle to keep from gaining their weight back. One lady has gained about 20# as she can not eat about anything. But you have a good start and you will do great.
