Question?? What works what Don't

    i wanted to know if everyone lost good when they first joined t.o.p.s. and then did you go back to old habits? I see that some people have been in a long time yet are far from goal. i do not want this happening to me. could some of you give your ways of success and ways of struggles. i know my mother has belonged for several years and goes up then down ....when i told him i joined my dh kinda made a joke about it not helping her. but i told him maybe she would be a whole lot bigger if she wasn't in.... don't know... just want some input on this.

  • Your answer was the best. It's the one my husband reminds me of when I get discouraged. Yes you will see people who have been in for years and not lost.But if you ever go to SRD you will see HUNDREDS who have done it and kept it off. Don't let anyone discourage you. TOPS doesn't lose the weight.You do. It is a support group and it does help. Most people that leave tops usually come back because they do better in TOPS than out of tops. Good luck to you

    I did do well in the beginning and then slipped back. Also I have alot of things going on in my life that diverted my attention but I am now trying to get focused again.

    On a side note, i went to my meeting last night and I lost 4lbs. so I am motivated to keep going. Have a good OP week everyone.

    Eleni is right. Whether it is tops or any other group or plan you participate in it isn't the plan or the group that makes you lose the weight and keep it off. It is what you put into the group or the plan that makes the difference. Most of the time people that just start do well because they are motivated. If they happen to get involved with a group that isn't supportive or active that drops their motivation quick and makes it harder to keep you upbeat to want to lose. It is easier to go back to our old ways then it is to change. If you give your 100% best effort at all times you like others will get to your goal. But you can't blame a group or a plan for not working for you if you aren't willing to do the work and put in 100% effort. I have seen people that have reached their goals and it is amazing. I wonder and say to myself why can't I be that person. Well the answer is simple they wanted it bad enough to stick with it for a life time change not a week or two change. Everyone has what it takes to accomplish any goal in life whether it be weight related or not. It is what we do with that opportunity that makes the difference in the end.

    Congrats on the loss this week. Seems like you are doing great. Keep up the great work I know it is hard to concentrate on your weight right now but you are doing it. Keep it up girl. You will be new from the inside out when you are done.

    Glad to have you back and that you had such a wonderful time. How did you do with getting back on track since being home? I know it will be hard but you can do it. The vacation is over now it is time to get back to being healthy again.

    As for me I am having a lot of problems with my computer. Someone hacked into it and I haven't been able to get to the site all week or any other sites other then email. It is frustrating. I wish I had the money to throw this one out and start over with a new one but I don't. I just had all the viruses taken off now I have this. I have been thinking of everyone though.
    I go to the dr tomorrow for ultrasound and checkup. I also have my weekly non stress test tomorrow as well. Hopefully I will have a date tomorrow. I don't think I am going to make it until may. I am going to see about April 22 if he insists on the last week of April. I am getting the braxton hicks contractions all the time now and I can feel the baby pressing down when I get them. They are very uncomfortable and they last about 5-10 min each time. I got them all throughout the day today. So I know it is getting closer. I am dropping so he is getting ready to make his appearance soon. As soon as I know a date I promise I will let you all know. We finished setting up the baby's room saturday and I got the rest of the things I needed or wanted. It seems good to have it all done. Just have to get 2 pcs made for the one side of the crib to keep it up. Someone that works with my husband is going to make them for it for us. But he will be in the bassonett for the first 4 weeks so I don't need the crib for a little bit.

    Congrats for getting to 6 lbs under goal. I know you are a lb off but you did awesome to get that close. You are doing great and I can't imagine how hard it is to stay in your leeway. Keep up the great work.

    thnx for all the input i do want this and i am going to do it. i was starting to have health problems (high blood pressure , bad knees, and diabeties runs in my family) so i not only want to do it i NEED to do it!!! i will be around for my children and grandchildren....when i get some so any help you guys give is so much appreciated thank you all so much.
