Default Hump Day Wednesday

Hi all,

Wanda,

Welcome back lady. Glad to see you have joined us again. Keep posting and join us that are starting over again and getting motivated. You can do this to. Great suggestions for Penny. I was thinking fish also I know she likes that and you can have that for fridays.

Penny,

Don't know what else to tell you. Can you have fruit. There are a lot of ways to get protein without meat like wanda suggested. Remember it is only one day a week you have to deal with this. You can do this.

As for me I am doing great. I am down 2 of the 3 lbs I gained over the weekend. I am hoping to lose the other lb today before I go tomorrow for my checkup.
Got my house work done and the laundry almost done now I am going to relax for the rest of the day. I have gotten my water in also but have had to force that. But it is good for me and Jesse I know.

Penny as far as the therapy it is a physical therapist not a chiropracter. I go once a week have been for a few months now. It really helps.
I am going to lay down for a while talk to you all soon. Remember to stay on plan and be healthy today.

Sherri

HELLOOOOO LADIES!!!

It is another day on plan for me I am already down 3 lbs.

Sherri ~ I am so glad you are getting in all your water. I am just on my first 20 oz glass and you are already finished!!!!!!
Guess I better hurry up!
And no, we can't have fruit for the first two weeks.
I am glad the physical therapy is working Will you have it after Jesse is born?

Wanda ~ Hey girl!
Thanks so much for the suggestions. I did make the omelet with salsa and 2% cheese this morning. It was different. I am glad of all the suggestions. They were great. I can't have any meat today and on Friday's. I was thinking of refried beans today for lunch or red beans for supper? That way I can still get in my protein.

Eleni ~ Where are ya Mamma? Get on here and let us know how you are doing!

Christie, Nita, Coco, Summer, Wendy, Jojo.....

Where are you ladies???

I hope you have a GREAT ON PLAN DAY!!!!!!

Hi Everyone,

It's afternoon already, I have really had a busy morning. We had our TOPS garage sale last Friday and Saturday and we cleaned up today and donated all the leftovers to a charity. We did really well at the sale and will have a nice SRD fund.

Penny, You're doing great. 3 pounds lost is great. Thanks for the PM's. It's nice to know that someone is thinking of you and this week I need help staying on this plan. Last week wasn't as hard as this week has been. I guess that I am getting tired of eggs and salads. I will be glad when I can add the fruit and cereal next week.

The South Beach Diet was recommended to us by our nurse practioner. She said that it is an excellent diet for DH who is a diabetic, because it has a glycemic index,(which I really don't understand yet). But his blood sugar is down and that is what is important.

Sherri, Hope you are having a good rest after doing all your housework this morning. Take good care of youself and the baby.

Eleni, I'm looking forward to seeing you at SRD. Good luck with weigh-in this week.

Have a good day, everyone.

Nita

Hey Nita ~
Thanks so much for mentioning the SBD. It has been excellent for me so far. I bet it does get challenging with the food choices. I am not quite sure how Phase I works but I will buy the book soon so I can start reading up on it.
I think the blood sugar goes down b/c you take the refined sugars out of your diet, maybe???
Can't you have red beans? or maybe refried beans? I know tunafish is another one you get tired of quick. I am not sure what else to eat. Have you tried the SBD recipes thread on here???

How is everyone else doing? Hope you are having a great on plan day I have to got get ashes this afternoon and I am vowing not to hollar all the way through lent. No more yelling at the kids

Take care,
Penny

Eleni.....He is ssoooooo cute. Lucky you- to have him nearby so you can see him often.

Penny....Phase I does not mention red beans. Black, butter, chickpeas, green Italian, kidney, lentils, pigeon, soy, split peas, and wax are on the list. But I would think that if kidney beans are on the list, red should be. Pinto beans are not allowed until phase II. Are refried beans made from pintos?

Phase I is mainly lean meats, seafood, reduced fat cheeses, eggs, and non starchy veggies. You are allowed a tsp. of peanut butter. I believe there is a list of food on the SBD thread. Phase II allows you to add a few carbs that are low on the glycemic index, such as certain fruits, old fashioned oatmeal (no instant), some high fiber cereal, certain breads (mostly whole grain).
I think the blood sugar goes down because of veggies being so low on the glycemic index. That is why it was recommended for hubby.

I haven't tried the recipes on the sbd thread and yes, tuna fish is allowed. A typical breakfast on phase I is: 6 oz. v-8 juice or tomato juice, eggs or egg beaters, and 2 slices canadian bacon. Midmorning snack: turkey roll-ups or string cheese (part skim). Lunch: Salads with lean lunch meat and cheese, or tuna. Afternoon snack: celery stuffed with low fat cheese or 1 tsp. peanut butter. Dinner: lean meat, salad, veggies. You can have sugar free jello.

Didn't mean to write so much. Hope it doesn't bore everyone.

Til tomorrow,

Nita

Hey Nita ~
Thanks so much for the info It is much appreciated I did end up having some tuna for supper with two boiled eggs and 2 oz of cheddar reduced fat and one teaspoon of peanut butter. I know I should have had the peanut butter earlier in the day but oh well.

I just got the list today. I had read the book the other day at wal-mart but I need to go ahead and buy it. I don't have all the rules of the diet yet but I have stayed away from all the white carbs and all the sugars.

Again, Thanks so much for the info

Eleni ~ What's going on??? You have been doing soooooo good. Come on mom this is not going to help you if you don't get back on track. Please email me with your number so I can call you! I am not going to let you get off the track
