Angry Wed - Mar 12

Hi Ladies,

No thread started yet, so I'll get going.

I've been doing well the past 2 days. Rode my stationary bike 30 minutes Mon and Yesterday I walked 2 miles and rode bike for 10 minutes. My knee is now telling me I over did it, but mentally I feel better. DD continues to get better. She is half way through her shots....she ends Sunday. Can't wait.

Sherri, I'm glad you realized you were eating too many cals, but aren't you glad you didn't slack off on the exercise? That's been my big downfall......not moving the body. Yes, I have tried the Pilates, and I have to be careful with those also. The knee is very touchy. Keep up the good work and keep enjoying your job. It is one of the brightest spots in your life....next to Megan!!

I forgot to make notes from the past days posts....but I hope you're all doing well. CONGRATS to everyone that lost last week and to those that gained [ and I think I took top honors there ]
we WILL get it off. Have a great 'hump day'!!!!

I hope you ladies don't mind someone new joining you. I joined TOPS in Jan of this year. I don't know why I didn't post here before. But it seems like all the other groups I have posted with our petering out! I emailed some ladies yesterday to try and encourage them.

A little about myself. I am 30 years old with two dk's. One ds 4 and one dd 2. I have been married for seven years. My husband is very supportive of me and it has been really great having him say he is proud of me. I have been heavy since I was in high school. I lost 65lbs once in college but did not keep it off. I really hope this time it is different. Once I get started and stay focused I don't have to hard of a time losing. Because really my biggest problem was just way over eating. Its when I have lost the weight that I become complacent and decide I don't have to do this anymore! One more tidbit about me. Just so you know sort of my posting schedule. I work second shift. I am a house manager at a group home with the mentally ill. So I normally post in the early morn or afternoon when dd sleeps and ds goes to school.

I have enjoyed TOPs thus far and just hope this will be an extra added bonus. How do you guys do this? Do you do a weekly weigh in? I have to run for now but will check back later.

Hope you all are doing well!

Hi everyone, well I went to my first TOPS meeting this morning and it was really different then WW. I was really surprised when they started singing. Do all the chapters do that? I felt alittle lost because I didn;t know what was going on but everyone seemed really nice. I am planning on offically joining next wed.

HI Beth and its_my_life,

Glad to see you both on the daily thread....please join us as often as possible. Go to the March weigh in thread and you can post your weights there. Most post one posting and edit every week after their weigh-in. Helps keep us accountable. Also post your Bio on that thread .... it is 'stickied' at the top of the TOPS board.

Not all chapters sing, but it is a nice way to relax and have fun. I'd say the majority do however and TOPS used to have a songbook years ago. If you go to any of the SRD's [state convention] they do singing there.

Yes, TOPS is different from WW....the main thing is we are non-profit.....no one gets paid. Everyone in the chapter makes the chapter what it is. Volunteering and being active will help you with your personal success. TOPS has 100 program books that each chapter should have. Ask to see these, if they weren't shown to you and members are encouraged to find something that interests you and do a program for the chapter. Interaction is wonderful and helpful to all.

Much success to you and most of all, have fun with getting to know your fellow members.

Default Welcome and hi

Not much going on here, but everything. Being busy. Glad you all stopped in, and Summer, glad dd is doing better. I know this is so hard at times. I admire your strength.
Welcome newbies. Stop by anytime. We usually have a thread posted each day, anyone can start it, we usually have a monthly weigh in, and if we have more than one thread going at the same time that's fine. Some of the ladies post their daily menu's here. Some follow the exchange programs, some ww without going to the meeting, some may be going to the meeting, some are counting calories, some are watching carbs, some are doing a little of everything. YOu have to find what works for you.
I'm finding that exercise a must though.
Sherri-how was weigh in today,
How is everyone doing. I didn't get everyone that ran for an office, how did everyone do. I got a few here and there, but not totally clear on it.
Getting ready to type a letter to the school, and I have to get this one done tonight.
later

Hello, everyone!

I just can't seem to make time to post everyday. I have been so busy lately. As I've said, my chapter is hosting the Spring ARD, then we have Installation Banquet and the following week we go to SRD. The 2nd week in April, I am going to just relax!!! We finished our costumes for SRD today. I will work on things for ARD next week. In between times another organization I belong to is having a couple of functions... I may have a nervous breakdown!!!

Sounds like we have some newbees! Welcome, everyone. I know you will get lots of support here. They are a great bunch of gals.

I hope all of you are doing well...will be beack as time permits.

Eleni, thanks for the card. I'm so glad you sent it as I had lost your address! I knew we were kindred spririts!!!

Tomorrow night is meeting, I'm not looking forward to facing the scales. I haven't written down my menus, and that is always a red flag that things may not be good.

Need to get my body moving...haven't done any exercise today.
