Hello everyone!

I know it's been forever since I've checked in but I just wanted to stop by and say 'Hello'. Things have been going well with TOPS. A new chapter started closer to my home so I transferred to this new chapter and have enjoyed it tremendously! I was appointed as our TOPS Secretary also. I have lost 12 pounds but still have a looooooong way to go. I hope all of you are doing well.

as for me home sick again, and taking brandon to doctor. Sinuses are really bothering me, and i've taken some of the stuff i have, just not enough. Stupid weather changes. My nose, and eyes and headaches. Other than that not much going on here.

Well it was a sad weekend, all in all, with the loss of the shuttle, and for our city a loss of 7 15-year-olds in an avalanche in British Columbia. They were on a school outing. Seven survived and seven perished - 6 boys and 1 girl. So sad.

My hubby and I went to a movie Saturday night, and I had only 3 handfuls of popcorn - proud of myself. Saw Jack Nicholson in "About Schmidt" - very funny! We also caught up on a couple of videos "The Bourne Identity" (Matt Damon) and "Unfaithful" (Richard Gere). Both were good. He liked the first one better.

I have a sore knee (left) again today. My right knee was a bit swollen last week but not as bad as usual, so I was hoping it would not show up at all this week! I'm taking Lakota but as I am having day surgery on Wednesday they asked me to stop for 3 days. I had planned on 3 days exercise this week, but haven't done any. I did walk some on Saturday, shopping, so maybe that is what brought on the swelling on Sunday.

I bought 3 walking tapes at Costco, and hope to use them this coming week, although I'm not sure how I'll be feeling after the surgery.

We had 4 new members in the month of January. Our Provincial Recognition Days are the first weekend in May, here in Calgary.

I did not do so well in January, and I'm aiming for a better February!

Liz, I heard about the teens that perished. What a shame. I live in avalanche territory so I know the dangers.....but they can be so unpredictable. My prayers are with them and their families. Good for you with eating so little popcorn. Which walking tapes did you get? I've been thinking of getting Leslie Sansones. Let me know how you like them.

Welcome back. How is the baby doing? I am sure she is getting big by now. You enjoy being a mom.

Yes it was a sad weekend. My prayers are going out to the families. That is terrible about the avalanche. I hadn't heard about it myself.
Sounds like you had a fun weekend with your husband. We should all spend alone time like that from time to time. Good for you. And only 3 handfuls of popcorn that is amazing. I would have eaten the whole thing.
Good luck on wed on your surgery. I hope it helps your knee. What are you having done in surgery anyway? Don't worry about the exercise for now. You have to take care of the knee first so you don't do anymore damage.
Just stay focused and busy this month and you will have great losses this month. Everyday is a new day remember. WE choose how our days will go. It is up to us to make the right choices. You can do this. Just make healthy choices in all you do.

Glad you had a good day with the eating. Did it end up as well as it started for you? I hope so. I know you can do this. You have so little time to give yourself you have to steal all the minutes you can for you. Just keep to the low carbs and you will do awesome. You will be a kops again this year. Keep going and don't look back. Keep up the great work.

I enjoyed our talk yesterday. Glad you called. You didn't sound to good yourself though. But I am glad you are getting better. I have been thinking about you. I hope you can talk to the lady this week about the hypnosis thing. You just take care of you and get the rest you need to get better. Then you can worry about exercising again. I know you were going to start back again. How did it go? Keep going I am there for you.

How are you guys doing? I hope you are doing great.

As for me. I am doing great. I will have another loss this week. I didn't do as well as I wanted to this week. I wanted to have a great loss. But it won't happen. But any loss at this point is good for me. At least I am heading in the right direction. I gave up ice cream and candybars for the month of feb.. I know that if I keep eating them the way I have been I will never reach my goal. So I am giving them up for a month so I can reach my monthly goal. I lost 7 lbs last month and this month I would like to lose 10 lbs total. It is possible but only if I put 100% into it. Which I haven't done in 2 weeks. I have been just getting by.
Didn't exercise today because I ran out of time this morning. I got up on time at 5:30 am but I fixed dinner and did dishes by hand this morning and all the other stuff. So I will do it tomorrow morning for sure. I plan on doing my new tape I got called the firm. I hope it is good. I will let you know how it is.
I took megan to the dentist today for the first time. She cried all the way there and when she got in the chair until she realized he wasn't going to hurt her. My gums bleed and she thought hers would to. So she said I don't want my mouth to bleed. But she did fine he cleaned her teeth and she got a great report. No cavities and he said she has excellent teeth. I was glad to hear that. She said she would go back again another time to get them cleaned again.LOL
Well I am going to check my mail and get to bed.
