Hey all,

I had a great weekend for a change. I know that some of you didn't. You need to take some time for you and figure out what is bothering you. That is what I did last week. Actually talking to someone they mentioned something that clicked about how I was feeling. I had no idea that this was bothering me so much. When I decided that I couldn't do anything about it. I decided to start concentrating on me and get back to the basics of my plan. This worked for me. I had a long talk with myself and said lets get going and the next day I vowed that the next day I was going to get on track. I was off my path for 2 weeks and I didn't want to lose anymore ground. I have lost 13 lbs since sept and I didn't want to gain it all back for something stupid that was on my mind all the time bothering me. The worst part of the whole thing was that I didn't even realize that this problem was effecting me the way it was.

I don't know if this is what is going on with you guys or not. But I have learned through all of this (my journey) that there is always a reason why we overeat and don't stick to our plans. If there is something weighing on you then no matter how hard you try you aren't going to succeed because that problem is taking over your life as a priority and we aren't making our journeys the priority anymore. I can say this because I know that in the past 2 weeks I was thinking so much about what was bothering me that I wasn't giving my all to my plan and no matter how hard I tried my heart just wasn't in it. But it wasn't the main focus of my life anymore. So that is what we have to do is keep our main focus as our journey and when we do that we will automatically get back on track and feel good in everyway.

I hope this has helped some of you that are struggleing. I know that I thank you all for being there for me when I was off track. Thanks for that. Hopefully I can help some of you get back on track now that I am there myself.

I went to the dr's yesterday and I have bronchitis so I can't exercise until wednesday. But that is okay because I am still doing everything else. Plus keeping my goal of low carbs for the 5 days. I started that yesterday. So I have the rest of the week to go on low carbs. So with that I should have a loss even though I haven't exercised in 4 days.

I hope everyone has a better week then the weekend.

You can all do this. I know you can. Together we will reach our goals.

Good monday everyone!!!

I had a good weekend. I didn't make all of my goals, but I did reach most of them. I was in a bowling tournament on Saturday which was a battle of the sexes and the women won. That means that all of us women got our money back and the men got nothing. (In other words they ended up paying for their bowling and ours!!). Of course that is the way it should be isn't it?????

I have another tournament this weekend. It is an all nighter which means we start at 12 am on Friday night and go until 6-7 am on Saturday. Should be lots of fun.

My RS plan still hasn't come so I am hoping that it will be here today or tomorrow. I am really looking forward to starting something new. I am also reducing my carbs. I have 2 low carb books and the plans work for me but I can't be that restrictive. But I am reducing them down and trying to eat more high fiber carbs than white flour and sugar based carbs.

My main goals for this week are water!!! and no pop (soda for your folks in the US!! LOL) until Friday at the tournament. That is going to be the hard one. I normally only drink diet, but I want to cut it back so I am removing it for a few days to see what happens. I am going to the store after work and I am going to get some juice and crystal light to have in place of it and some sparkling water too.

Well, I guess I have babbled long enough. I'll chat again later......

Happy Monday everyone,

I had a good weekend. It is still cold here but at least we don't have a lot of snow.
I think emotions play a huge part in the things and amount we eat. All the "comfort" foods have loads of calories. I remember drowning my sorrows in a bag of chips or cookies or chocolate. I haven't done that for a long time because I just don't feel good afterwards. It is a struggle to not do that tho.
Sherri....sorry to hear you are sick. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Alannah......congrats on winning the tournament...that is great. I have cut way down on my pop too. I now try and have only it only once a week or sometimes I will splurge and have it twice. I used to drink it almost everyday.
I guess I should get back to work. Talk to you all soon.

Marie

I am still not on track. This has been an unusual few days.Very emotional. My shift and their wives took myself and my husband out to eat last night for a small retirement dinner. They also gave me $100 worth of movie coupons.Great gift.My best buddy and his wife also gave me a beautiful porcelin doll. They had me some flowers too.Plus some gag gifts. They also gave me a card from rest of plant with $300 they collected for me to get myself something that I wanted.I went in at 5am this morning to say goodbye to guys on midnights.I spent most of the day getting big hugs and well wishes from men all day.{One advantage to working with men for years}Then on top of all that I was sent down to guard shack to pick something up.When I got there I was given a dozen beautiful roses that my husband sent me.Like I said --very emotional.I have worked with some of these guys for almost 21 years.I will not miss the job but I will miss some of the guys.I go in tomorrow for 2 hours and then I am finished.Like I said .A very emotional time.
I think things need to calm down some before I can get back in gear.

Marie,

Congratulations on staying on track this weekend. That is great.

Eleni I think you are very right that you need to calm down before you get back on track. With so many things going on with you right now it is a wonder that you can focus on just you right now. I know it is hard to leave a job. I have been there. But I have never worked at a place as long as you have. So I can just imagine how hard it is to say goodbye. But remember you are doing the right thing for your health. Deal with what is going on with the retirement first then you will be able to get back on track. Don't worry you will do great. I know you have a lot of changes to go through in the near future. Don't worry take it one step at a time so you don't become so overwhelmed. Stay here with us and when you are ready to get back on track we will all be here for you.
Enjoy your retirement.
