Default Hump Day

Hi Ladies
Hard to believe it is the middle of the week already. And that Sept half over. Where is time going. Well had weigh in last night. Not good. Gained 1/2 lb. Thought I had stayed the same. Well I guess I am going to have to start writing everything down. I know that I have been picking. So I guess I am ending up with more calories than I think.

Sherri Hope you get to feeling better. I dont think I would be able to talk to my friend again after she asked my hubby out. Or if I did. I couldnt trust her.

Wendy Hope you are doing ok. Hows your son doing.

Summer, Nita, Penny HI Thinking of you.

Christy. I think I will join the menu thread. Thanks for starting it. I may also do the monthly posting of weigh ins. Maybe that will help.

Sounds as if all the TOPS meeting have been kinda slow. I know our group has done well either. We are having our Fall Banquet FRI night. I guess our Chapter is 26 years old. This will be the first time that I have went to the Fall banquet. I have been in TOPS I think it is 3 years. Will have to look at my book to see for sure. But I should have been to goal by now. And I dont have anybody to blame but myself. I just need to learn to keep my mouth shut and not put so much food in it. Well I better get off here. Need to do the dishes. And wash some jeans. I hope everyone has a great day. Take care. Thinking of all of you.

doing pretty good, went to dentist, yesterday. Doing ok, still kinda sore.

Hi everyone! Weigh in last night -- I lost 2 1/4 pounds, so that felt good, as I have been struggling all summer. For me, it was back to the basics: keeping a food journal, drinking my 8 glasses (plus) of water, and exercise. I have been walking. Did 3 hours and 25 minutes total last week.

We had our TOPS meeting last night with 14 members in attendance. During the summer once we had 3, so 14 feels like a roomfull!! We also have 2 new members and that always give the group a lift. I sent a letter, along with a newsletter and the new contest and rules to everyone in the group. The letter was encouraging everyone to get back to us this fall. I think it helped.

We started a new TOPS BINGO contest last week. I made it up out of things we need to be doing in order to lose weight: exercise, water, food journal, getting involved in our chapter with things like attendance, bringing in a lowfat recipe or tip, doing the TOPS program, and writing a note to a TOPS Pal. The middle square, rather than being FREE, is the hardest: being the best loser of the week. For those who can't happen to manage that, they can exchange 4 consecutive losses for that square. In our case, each of the Bingo cards is exactly the same, so everyone has to do all the same things. I made it possible to have a line filled per week, so the contest can be completed in 5 weeks for a blackout. I had 2 people last night (besides me - I am doing it for the weight loss results and to be a good example to the group) who finished a line, so they each got a small prize. I also have a prize for the first blackout. I also told them last night that anyone who gets a blackout before Christmas can choose a charm. I am hoping that will encourage them all to work at finishing it.

Liz,

I really like that bingo idea. That is a lot different then the one I got from eleni. But what a neat idea. I think I might use that one. It is easier to use all the same bingo cards. I also like the idea that anyone that bingos along the way can win also with the ultimate winner in the end with the blackout of the whole card. I will work on that one. I started putting together a bingo card from the one eleni sent me. There are a lot of ideas on there to use on the cards also.
Congratulations on your loss this week. Sounds like you are back on track also. Keep up the great work.

So what did you have done at the dentist?
I still don't know anything medically yet. I do have to go get a gallbladder ultrasound on friday. So I will let you know if they find anything then.
As far as the babysitting. I think I am going to get this job. I finally got in touch with someone tonight it was the husband. Although I don't know the family I am sure I will recognize them because it turns out they go to my church. So that is a huge plus for me. They have 3 kids one a JR and one in 4th grade both boys and a 10 month old girl (which I would watch) He asked if I would watch if I had to the 4th grader if school was closed one day. I said I wouldn't mind if they didn't have someone for occasions like that. They don't have a lot of closings. Plus he didn't say anything about my daily rate. Plus he only needs me mon - thur so that is great I can still clean for my friend on friday like I do know. I would give up the other house I have now though on thurs. So just the one kid alone would give me what I make from the phone company if I get in the hours I want. So then I would just need one more child. So it is looking up for me.

I hope you are stilll on track. I have been doing good also. But I did have a pc of apple pie tonight. But it was my 3 day at curves this week today so that is good. I have no idea if I am going to have a loss this week. I am so scare that I lost so much last week I won't lose this week. But we will see. I am still eating very good and within my points everyday. So we will see. I had my weigh in and measuring last night for the month at curves. I lost 3 lbs over the past month and a total of 3 inches and the body fat stayed the same. So I was happy with that at least it wasn't a gain like the last month.

You are right about the friend. It is definately over between us. Her husband called me last night looking for her and I told him that we weren't talking or hanging out together and why. Even though she claimed to have told him that she asked my husband out he didn't have a clue and wasn't too happy. He must have said something to her last night about it because she avoided me like the plague today which I was grateful for. So it is finally over for good. Good ridence.
Hey don't worry about 1/2 lb girl. That could be water. If it isn't you can get that off and more this week with some effort on your part. Stop the picking girl.LOL You can do this.

I also like that contest idea. i will also try it.
Sherri- There is a difference between the two. One is a contest and one is a game just for fun. Everyone can win on both.
It does take time to make the one I sent you but it is meant to be used over and over as I said it is just a game.
I am hanging in there. I might if I am lucky have a turtle tonight.
