Hi Gang......Gee, I missed you ladies!!!!! Been very busy here. Went to the hockey game in Denver Thurs eve and it snowed like crazy. Ice under the snow so I didn't even try to drive home Friday. Spent the day at my girlfriends while she worked and I did absolutely nothing. It was WONDERFUl!! Did meet my friend for a lovely steak afterwards...not to mention a few rum & diet cokes. LOL
Got home Sat and the roads were still messy in a few spots. Dear hubby greeted me with, "you should have stayed in Denver where it was warm". We had -29 that morning and Denver only got down to -4! Last night we got down to a balmy -12!
DD came home to watch the ski-joring and froze her *%# off! For those that don't know, it is where a rider on a horse pulls a skier by a rope over jumps while the skier tries to snag hanging rings with a stick. Snow is brought back onto the main street where the course is made and traffic is re-routed. Definitely small town here. She left for college this morning since she had another horrible migraine yesterday...too bad her weekend ended on a bad note.
Had to take other DD in for a new feeding tube this morning and she did pretty good. It had been 3.5 years and everyone couldn't believe how long it lasted. Luckily we don't seem to have the 'routine' problems others have. Guess my old nursing skills are good for something!
Okay, back to business here, my eating hasn't been too bad but I have not been exercising at all. Do plan on doing the bike today while I read the paper. Bought a bunch of spinach and salad fixings at Sam's Club. Very tempted at the baked goods area, but I held strong and am proud that I did. I will be going back to my TOPS meetings this week after a nice break. Figured I better get back to make sure elections are done right and certain people don't try to 'railroad' it. Our current leader, who is good, is kind of passive and others have been known to take advantage of that. To all those elected to 'leader', just a friendly reminder that it is NOT one person that runs the chapter. Everyone should have input and majority rules when it comes to important things. Group discussion can be good for a chapter. A bunch of heads brainstorming things is a great thing to have.
CC, glad to see your losing weighs continue and the job is not interferring with that. I'm stocking up on the coffee!! Just make sure you bring your long johns.....you will need them!! You should enjoy your PRD! Thanks for keeping those {{{{{{{{{VIBES}}}}}}}}} going!!! Here's your dose for today and I agree with Sherri, I love my crock pot!
Sheri, Stick with what works......don't rely on those 'gimmicks'. No one can live on liquid meals and enjoy life unless you are like my DD. Hope you have a loss this week, I was sorry to see what happened last week. One day at a time, or even an hour, if need be.
Eleni, hope things are better with your daughter. Not a fun place to spend time and as you can see above, things went well for us. Yep, you had a little gain, but you are a strong woman and you can get that back off. Hope you made your one 'good' choice when you went in to meet Bill for your meal Sat.
Wendy, good to see your scale is down and yep, any exercise is better that none. You are that much further ahead of the ball game that way. I'm originally from Detroit so I know how bitter those cold mornings can be near the lake. Did you see above how cold we got here? That is the stuff you are now getting.
Coco, I agree with Sherri that anything that won't hurt your knee should keep you doing it more. I've heard that the recumbant bikes can be very good. Upper body workouts are hard on me. I have horrible endurance when it comes to shoulder height or above. Lots of pain and I know that is a downfall of riding a stationary bike since I'm not working the upper body too. We just need to hold some cans or bottles and do some weight resistance....starting off slow. I'll be thinking of you when I get around to doing it.
Nina, Hope things are going fine with you. If I remember correctly, [and I hope I am] I think you had a loss last time. Keep it going!! Every little bit adds up.
WOW, this is LONG!!!! I know I'm forgetting others names but you know that everyone on this TOPS site is always wished success by me. Think I will go have an early lunch, it's 10:30 here....the tummy is growling so I guess the hunger is for real. LOL! Let's have a GREAT TOPS year with the new officers going in. Love our e-chapter too!!!!!! Take care ladies, and know that we deserve those healthier bodies we are striving for!!!!
TOPS Hugs and {{{{{{{VIBES}}}}}}}}}
