Default Saturday

The weekend is here. last month sure did fly by. Well 33 years ago I was giving birth to my daughter Joy. It is hard to believe my children are getting so much older. But so am I . I will be 56 next month and proud of it. My heart attack and triple bypass could have taken me out 7 years ago so I consider every year since than as a bonus.
The birthdays I have for Feb are two people who haven't been around for awhile but they might be lurking. I have Lori Hinchley on Feb 9 and Cathy Raincloud on Feb 16. If any of you have a birthday this month let us know.
Today is my day to run errands etc.
I did a few minutes of Richard yesterday. Will try to do some today. A few minutes is better than nothing.
It is still nice weather. It is suppose to be cooler but still above normal weather.
Just wanted to mention that we have no limit on how long a post anyone does. It can be 1 sentence or many. Sometimes we don't have much to say and sometimes we have a lot on our mind.
take care and everyone have a great weekend.

Default HI

Hi everybody
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Not much happening here. Sun is shinning, 32 degrees and a little windy. Just came from town. Needed to pick up some more veggies. Gonna have steak salads for supper. (No fries) So will load up on all SB legal veggies.
Everyone sounds like they have had a pretty good week. Everyone should have a loss. Won't that be great!!!!
I was wondering and this will be a dumb question. But CC talks about doing Pilates. What is that?
I have been trying to follow SB and WW plan. Now I need to start excerising. I know I wont be able to do much at first. I am so out of shape it isn't funny. I did try a couple of times to do the treadmill. But after about 9 minutes. That was enough. Huffin and a puffin. So one day I rode the excerise bike 2 miles. But not all at once. I washed two loads of clothes that day. The bike is in the basement where washer is. As the machine filled I rode a mile. It also has the handle bars that move your arms too.
Well I better get off here. Need to go clean my veggies. Everyone have a great day and evening.

Morning everyone.....I'm just checking in. this week has been pretty busy and I've only had a moment to get on the computer.
For the second week in a row we didn't have our regular meeting because of the snow. There are so many elderly women in my group and they just won't drive in the snow . The first two weeks I did terrible but since tues I have been very good about being on programme. I just hope I can continue for the next few days and show a loss on tues. Our snow has all disappeared now from the rain.

Eleni what day in march is your birthday?? I'll be 57 on the 11th of March.

CC the job market here in BC is terrible right now and I don't think anywhere in Canada is too much better. Competition is fierce but it does boost your confidence when you can dress nice and wear a size you feel good in....Good for you!....I would love to be there.

My goal this year is to lose 5# a month. I should be able to do that if I stick to programme most of the time and start getting in some exercise. I know it's not a big goal but I think for me it is more realistic. Anyhow we shall see.....

Hi to everyone else and have a great weekend.......

Donna, My birthday is March 8.
Today has been pretty good even if I did eat too much tonight.
Except for fact I wiped out my 100 mg disk. Lost almost all my clip art and a lot more. Several years of stuff. I hit the wrong thing and deleted everything instead of one folder. A great big "aw ****" Oh well can't do anything about it. What is done is done. I can't undo it.
Talked to you guys tomorrow

Eleni..... When you deleted everything, did you send it to the recycle bin? If so, you can retrieve it.

Sherri... I think the reason our open house was a success was the attitude of the members. They were excited about the guest speaker and invited people to come and hear him. He was TOPS FL king two years ago and an excellent speaker. I sent out pieces of jigsaw puzzles with a couple of the invitations and wrote to bring in the puzzle piece for a small prize and they came for their prize. Our theme was western, TOPS round up. Two of our group demostrated line dancing, then after the speaker, they ended the meeting with a song, "Happy Trails to You".

My friends husband isn't doing very well at all. He had the bypass surgery 8 days ago and is still in intensive care. She told me that they had him sitting up today, so he is having a slow recovery.

Coco...... How is the quilting going? I made one quilt and have another pieced and half quilted. The finished one is tied instead of quilted. The quilting is taking me a long time, I get tired of working on it and put it away for awhile, then get it out again and work some more.

Well, I'm trying to get back on my diet. I just can't gain anymore weight. I'm working toward being back OP by Monday. Weight is so hard to take off and comes back so fast.

Hello to everyone. Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Nita

Eleni,

Hey your daughter is my age I didn't realize that.LOL That is cool. I am so glad you are doing so good this weekend. Don't worry about what you had last night today is a new day. You are doing great. I love the attitude you have. You have gotten it back again. I knew you would find it. Keep up the great work. Hey any exercise is better then none. You have to work up to it. You are doing great. Do you like working out with richard?

Nita,

Sorry your friends husband isn't doing as well as you had thought he would. At least he is recovering even if it is a slow one. Some things take time.
That is a great idea to work yourself up to getting back on track on a certain day. I did that before when I was so way off plan. I picked a day and said after that I am going to be back on plan. It made it easier to do that and plan for it. Then say okay now is the time.
The open house was great. Yes I think the attitude of the members has a lot to do with it also. You did a great job with the planning and all the great ideas you had with the puzzle and all. I love that idea. It is great to have creative people in the group.
Good luck tomorrow getting on plan. What plan are you going to follow? Just cutting back on stuff or what?

Donna,

I think that setting a goal of losing the 5lb a month is great. Now is the big question. What are you going to do to reward yourself for those 5 lb losses? You need to reward yourself so that you can look forward to that prize. That is what is going to keep you motivated to lose the weight.
I have rewards in mind for my losses. Like the first 10 lb loss I get to go tubing. (something I have always wanted to do). Then for the 20 lb mark I am going to get a message, sauna and hot bath. I don't have anything planned yet for the 30 lb loss mark. But I will think of something. Then for the 40 lb mark and then I will be at goal I am going to visit a friend. These are the things that are keeping me going. I think of them and say I can't cheat if I am going to be able to do these things. I have to meet my goals. They are really working. So put some kind of reward with your monthly losses. See how that will motivate you and keep you going. You can't get the reward until you reach the goal. It could be a book, a cd or tape or to go to the movies. Try not to make it a night out to a resteraunt. That will defeat the purpose. I used to do that. I will lose weight then I can go eat at ?. That is not a smart thing to do. So I changed it to other things. It can even be something as small as bubble bath or a bottle of champaign or something. You can think of something. For your 1/2 way point maybe you could go away for a weekend or something. But you have to reward yourself for all the hard work you are doing to get to goal.

Keep up the great work. You are doing great.

CoCo,

You know it takes time to build up endurance for exercise. I think that is great that you can stay on the treadmill for 9 min. When I first did it (when I owned mine) I could only do it for 5 min at a time and then I was huffin and puffin also. So if that is the case then break it up and do 5 min intervales. They say that even if you do this 4 times a day that is 20 min a day. Which is great. You still get the same effect out of it. Even though you are doing it for shorter periods of time. Also like I told eleni. Any exercise is better then none. When I work out now the 30 min to the low impact aerobics I am wheezing so bad it takes me at least 30 min to get my breathing normal again where I am not wheezing. But in time my lungs will get stronger and I will be able to do the 30 min without a problem. So we all have to work up to it. We are not in shape.
CC said the same thing when she started working out. She said she could hardly climb the stairs now she can run up them. So you will get stronger and your heart and lungs will get stronger also. You will see. Just don't give up.
I have a pilates tape. It is something like yoga. I don't care for it myself. I don't think I get anything out of it when I did it. But a lot of people like it. Just another form of exercise on tapes or they have classes. I saw a class for it in the paper yesterday that will be starting here.
You are doing great all around. You have made so many changes. Now by adding the exercise you will really be knocking off the weight. Just take it slow and break up the routine in 5 min increments if you have to at first. You will build up to the point where you can do 20 min all at once in a few months. Don't be too hard on yourself.

I had a great day on plan today. I stayed legal all day on both plans. I also worked out for 30 min aerobics and did some floor exercises later. Also I drank all my water to.

I took my daughter sleigh riding today and she got hurt. She cut her face on a corn stalk that was sticking up in the snow. There is ice on top of all the snow. She hit the stalk and flipped over and was going down on her belly and hit the stalk. She was lucky she didn't need stitches. I felt aweful about it. But she is fine. She only cried until I got to the bottom of the hill. She was lucky it didn't take her eye out.

Nothing else happening here. I did get some snacks for the game tomorrow. I got shrimp for my husband (I hate shrimp) also some chips and dip but I didn't get any triscuits because I knew I would eat the whole box. So I am having popcorn for my snack. I figured if I didn't buy it then the stuff wouldn't be in the house. He wanted me to make my taco dip but I refused and got the shrimp instead. I knew I couldn't have the nachos with the dip so I didn't want to make it. The nachos are not legal on SB plan.

Have a great day everyone. Sounds like everyone is having a great on plan weekend so far.

Way to goal ladies.

Summer where are you hiding girl? I miss you.

HI
FLgal
On the quilting bit. I have put that on hold for now. I need to finish pieceing my piece. It is only a little wall hanging. But I have a couple of cross stitch things that I am working on. One is for a friend who is going to have a baby in April. Don't even have it half finished. So need to work on it. The other is for one of my husbands Dr's. She has been down in the dumps the last couple of times hubby's been to see her. She has a couple of teenage kids. No hubby. The kids seem to be giving her a hard time. So I thougth I would do something for her. His next appt is this month. So I have to hussle on it. But I will get back to the quilting. A friend of ours is going to make us a set of quilting frames. Then I will be able to do a regular quilt.

I just want to say. I do love reading these threads. They really do help. All you girls are great.
A TOPS PAL
