Default Monday A New Week

Good morning. I had a nice weekend. We went to see the movie Spy Games. Altho it was a guy movie I liked it better than my hubby. You have to pay attention in order to know what is going on. He is like most men. He wants the boom boom but doesn't want to strain his brain
Today is a new week and it is time to make up for the weekend. The weekend is always a killer for most of us.
Have to get ready for work. Have a great day today

Well, Good morning, everybody!

Sounds like every one survived the weekend, yay!

I had a GREAT time last night. The dinner theater was hilarious, the party went off without a hitch, and I felt like a million bucks! I didn't let my honey see the dress 'till i came downstairs and to his credit, he gave me a wolf whistle, pretended not to know who I was and promised to leave his wife for me if I would only be his date. We have been together forever, but it sure is fun to be silly like that. Now my daughter is worried he has another woman stashed somewhere! My 18 year old gave me his highest accolade as well, "Hey Mom, you look OK"

Dinner was tough tho, all high calorie food, and not much of it. I was so hungry when I got home I had a big bowl of Special K.

Nita,

I don't know much about WW but it sure sounds like a good program. The visualization thing for me came from weight lifting, studies have shown that concentrating on the muscle you are trying to isolate greatly enhances performance and muscle development. I figured that since I had so many muscles to concentrate on I might as well extend it to a "whole life" approach.

The fashion show sounds like a lot of fun and a good self esteem booster to boot. Hats off to your Chapter for putting it together. Sounds like you have a great team!

Thanks for the compliment on my mom, but I am the lucky one, my mom has stuck by me thru everything, she is my biggest supporter and always roots for me. She makes me feel like I can accomplish anything.

Eleni,

I am so glad you are digging out the exercise clothes. It is very hard in the beginning, take it slow and the strength will follow. When I started I was out of breath after 10 minutes and stairs were the worst. I HATED them. My knees ached, my feet rebelled, and thought I just might be to old to ever be fit again. Plus I jiggled like a melting fruit mold. That was very uncomfortable. My heart went out to you when you shared you grandaughters cheerleading story. I know what you are going through, you can do this, you really, really can! After 5 months af pushing myself I can now work out. Last night I bounded up 3 very long flights of stairs in high heels and didn't even think about it. (except to hope my hubby was checking me out) You can do this, just stick to it, stick to it, and stick to it. Everything will come together for you.

Yes, it is very cold here! We have hit -25 C (that is about -20F), but it is a cakewalk compared to the -60 C and wind-chill of 75+ watts you encounter in the far north. When I was working in Florida we thought the flight line guys in toques and parkas at +40 F funny, but we got the strangest looks when we walked through Panama City in shorts in Dec. It is all in what you are used too. We were all amazed at the powerful storms that blew in. Incredible lighting displays and the wind! Wow! Powerful stuff, we have nothing that is that awe-inspiring here unless a tornado watch is in effect!

Sherri

Great goals! I am glad you like the idea of smaller goals, I wasn't trying to be a downer, my little pea brain just can not wrap its self around the big goals. Like I posted before 5 lbs. is still my goal, when you add it all up I am approaching 70, but all of it was 5 lbs. at a time. (I might make 70 this weigh in) I have around 40 lbs to lose as well, we can tag team!

I don't know what you like, but when I need a little reward I usually buy a new $10 bra or work out camisole at Wal-Mart. Or a nice pair of socks, the rag wool blend ones. I also use earrings and nail polish. All the girl things, stuff I don't normally pay any attention too, but make me feel good about myself.

Summer,

Whoo Hooo, I am waving my poms poms for you! You can do this!
Can you feel these {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{vibes}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}?

Now I am send you some visualization vibes,

What will you wear on stage? Do you have shoes for it?
OMG I can see you!

{{{{{{{{You look gorgeous! whritt whooo (my poor attempt at a wolf whistle) great posture, wow, you look sooooooo proud and happy! What a beautiful woman you are, inside and out! }}}}}}}}}

I am crying, I am soooooo happy for you!

Can you see it?

Christie,
Are you well rested yet? Hope you got breakfast in bed! How are things going?

Bev, Mickey, Divine, everything cookin' along?

Well, I have about 2 billion things to do today, so have a good one, everybody!

CC

Eleni,

I am glad you liked the movie. At least your hubby doesn't fall asleep like mine says he would. You can do good for the rest of the week I have faith in you. Get on the treadmill and ride, ride, ride.

CC,

I am so glad that you had such a great time. I think that is great that your hubby pretended to be the boyfriend. It really makes it for a romantic night doesn't it? See all of your hard work paid off and you felt like a million bucks. Hey did you look like you thought you were going to look when you started to imagine yourself when you first started on your journey? I am sure you looked better then you imagined.
I also like to set small goals for myself. That is why I figured that if I can make any kind of loss every week then being able to go to the gym for it is a great reward for me because I never get to go. I am so looking forward to going to the gym and going tubing.

I want you all to know I did great today so far. I had an egg for breakfast and a turkey club for lunch. No fries and I didn't touch one chip that came with it. I also turned down birthday cake as well. It was yellow cake my favorite also. But I really want to go to the gym next week so I passed on it. I will not have any potatoes later only steak and veggies. That should get me through the day. Also I am going to do the body sculpting tape 1 hour later. Wish me luck.

Have a great day everyone. I will check back in later.

Hey I almost forgot hey CC I think that is great that you only had a bowl of cereal when you got home. It could have been a lot worse and a lot higher fat food then that. So I say great choice there. I know you are back on track today. You don't want to break your losing streak.

Thumbs down

Hi Ladies, The sun is out so I thought I would throw on my 'cool' shades for awhile. Sounds like we're doing well with keeping the positive {{{{{{{{VIBES}}}}}}}} going. If you're having a tough time, reach out and grab one of those {{{{VIBES}}}}}!!

Eleni, THANK YOU, you are so sweet. I will be writing you a letter later in the day and probably get it to the post office tomorrow. Hey, guess what I'm using right now!!!!! We don't have a movie theater here and the closest is 35 miles. In fact, the only chain fast food place we have is Subway. Hope you have a great week, but take one day at a time.

CC, Wow......THANK YOU for that visualization. You made me get teary and tingly inside. That 'wolf whistle' did it for me!! I have no idea what I will wear, but it has to be long. Now you have me thinking of what I will buy in May. Gotta start saving my pennies. You are sooooo lucky to have a husband that gives you a compliment. Mine hasn't said anything to me in years and even back then, they were few and far between. Guess I should have realized back then.... Otherwise, he is a great husband and father. Always willing to let me escape and take care of Melissa.
I know you looked BEAUTIFUL last night.....especially when your son said something!!!!! I know your head was held high and your self esteem just 'oozed' from you. Would have loved to see you strut your stuff!!!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!!!
I also live in a very cold area and our altitude is 10,000 feet.[don't know what the metric is for that]. In fact, just went to the thermometer and it is 18 degrees F and -6 degrees C at 11:30am. I had to have a dual thermometer since all my relatives are in Canada. We compare and know what we would feel like at each others temp. Let's see, your -25 C is our -8 F. The lowest we have had so far this winter has been -18 F, or -26 C. However you read it, it is COLD. Do you have a woodburner. We do and use it every evening. During the morning we use the gas furnace, turn it down about 4pm and then bring in the 'warm' heat. We use 3-4 cords per winter. I'm thinking of you as I'm sipping hot tea and I can see you snuggled up with a nice throw over your lap. Stay warm!!!!!!!

Sherri, the shower was bridal. The baby one will come soon enough! The wedding is set for Dec 29 in Denver. They couldn't find anyone to perform the wedding here. Hope the weather will be OK for travel. No one is giving the marriage much of a chance. They don't have much in common and have only known each other 4 months. I wish the bride would REALLY think about this. Too much other 'stuff' to go into here, but all we can do is wish them a lot of luck and especially the baby that will be coming in May/June. That's the one I feel for........
Sounds like you have a plan again. I know you will get there. Our minds are funny things and when we are really ready, we can do anything. The 'ready' part is the hard area to keep turned on to. {look at our yo-yo ing}. Yes, I need to get on my bike again. THANK you for all the encouragement. What a wonderful part of OUR CHEERLEADING TEAM you are!!!! I loved the cheer, in fact, I am going to print it out and put it next to your angel. It will be beautiful!!!! GO SHERRI, GO SHERRI, GO SHERRI!!!!

Nita, that fashion show sounded so nice. Wish I could have seen it.....our chapter would never have the opportunity to do something like that.

I didn't think I was doing too bad, but for some reason my scale is showing a big increase. I am one of those that NEED to weigh myself daily and I have not been doing it.....so of course it has gotten away from me without my really realizing it. I HAVE to be more vigilant in this ongoing battle. I need to get going. I'm going to try to get to the funeral home. They are having visitation for only 3 hours for our TOPS member. Melissa has a home health aid that I hope will be here for 1/2 hour during that time so I can go.
Tomorrow is the funeral, but I have no one here, so I highly doubt I will be able to go. At least I try......but I wish so often that I wasn't tied down so much........

To all our other friends that are MIA, let us know how you are doing. This is a tough time for eating with all the foods, but don't forget to think about your health. I always kick myself in the butt.....after the damage is done. OK, Here are some POSITIVE CONTROL {{{{{{{{{VIBES}}}}}}}}}}} Have a great 'O' 'N' 'P' 'L' 'A' 'N' 'D' 'A' 'Y'!!!!! everyone!!!!

TOPS Hugs,
Summer

Default Good day!

Hello,

How is everyone doing?

Like Eleni, I had a great weekend. I kept busy by visiting friends, reading up on how to start weight training, and exercising. Since the weather here in Quebec is starting to get colder, I'm gonna have to join a gym so I can use the treadmill for walking. But the weather is holding up so I take advantage of it by walking between 30-40 minutes each day.

Flatlander- I'm glad you had a great time at the dinner and party last night. Getting dressed up and being complimented does everybody good.

My day is going well , I've stuck to my eating plan and I exercised this morning. All is well and that's all I ask for.

I hope everyone is having a good start to the week. Take care.

Hi everyone,

CC

I am so glad that you had a wonderful time at your theatre and party. I imagine that you looked wonderful.

I was glad to hear that everyone did pretty well over the weekend. I did fairly well, but it is really hard when you are around others all weekend.

I have been excerising when I have the time and yes I know I should be planning a certain time to do it, but life always interferes.

Angry

times times firebrick bold Hi! It sounds like all of you have been busy and enjoying the holiday season! I have lost the last two weeks. We had a weigh-in only this week and then went to our Christmas Party. We had it a popular local restaurant.
