Lightbulb Small TOPS Group!

My beloved TOPS group is dwindling! We're a five-member group, but one person is moving to a different region soon. One of our members suggested we advertise a little more to get a larger group. Our regular advertisement includes an ad in a local free newspaper. We decided to place the same ad in an neighboring community. We also decided to post on craigslist and hang notices up on local bulletin boards.

I thought we could do some sort of community service project to get our names out there (maybe like adopt-a-highway), but the group thought that was too much of a commitment.

Does anybody have any more suggestions?

Just a suggestion -- not sure if they would allow it or not -- try doctor's office's or hospital bulletin boards, schools, etc?

I just put a pamphlet together for our TOPs and had each member take a few to put around Dr.s offices, and other local community places. If you like, I could email you a copy of it.

Lyn, I would love that! I'll PM you with a private email address.

I was also thinking we could set up a booth at community health fairs and the like.

Default Open House

Another Idea would be an Open House, You can obtain a free kit from the coordinator.. Be sure to advertise... how about your group joining the American Heart Assoc. walk they have every year.. Lyn made a very nice pamphlet to distribute... we need to get our name out there too.. maybe a booth this summer at the local festival... Just some thoughts, Barb

Yay! We got a new member today. She's very nice and is a good fit with our group.

And I lost this week! I finally made it beyond the 50-pound-loss mark again. Yaaaay!

Lightbulb ideas

Can you possibly merge with another TOPS group that is close by? I know there are several near me. Also see if you can advertise at the YMCA if there is one near you. Some of them have weight loss support groups and some don't so if yours doesn't, the trainers may be willing to recommend your TOPS group as a great place for inexpensive moral support. Good luck!

Hi I'm new to 3 fat chicks and I used to attend TOPS, but do not know where they meet now. I live in Conway, SC. Maybe you can help me locate a group here.

missprissybritches,

Here's a link to the page that helps you find chapters by zip code:
