Default Tuesday

Isn't it great a "new day" always comes comes after a bad day. I am feeling much better and slept til alarm went off. My first day of slim fast went well. I don't know how long I will be able to stay on it but hopefully long enough to get a good start. I only have it for breakfast and lunch. But I do have a banana also in am. I also keep a bagel at work if I get too hungry. Well have to rush to go to work. I don't have much time in am to lollygag. Hope you all have a good day
(PS to my sister Joanne:I know you are reading this so quit worrying. I am fine)

I stayed on my plan all day yesterday. I did well. I'm going to try to stick to the plan a day at a time. I think that I gained about 5# during vacation. When I get away from dieting, the pounds come back really fast. Now, I have about 15 lbs. to lose before Christmas instead of 10 lbs.

I have tried the slim fast diet before. I don't care for the liquid, I like to chew my calories, not drink them. I buy the "meal on the go" bars. And Sherri, they may be good for you when you are on the road and can't eat the way you should. I like the peanut chocolate ones. Some of the others are too sweet for me.

Today I CAN stick to my diet
Today I CAN drink my water
Today I CAN get some exercise

I WILL do it...........just for today!

Hello Ladies,

Nita, congratulations on doing well since you have been back from vacation. Great going....and yes, we CAN do it!!!

Eleni, it does feel good to get a good nights sleep without waking up, doesn't it? Those are so few and far between for me and I always have to make at least one trip 'across the hall' during the night. Glad you are feeling better, having a hard time breathing is not fun. Just curious, but does the heaviness of the humidity cause more difficulties at times?
Hope the Slim-fast will give you a 'jump start' on your program.

Hello Joanne, Eleni is lucky to have a sister to help her along and cheer her on. Welcome!!!!!

Sherri, I hope you do have a loss this week. I can hear the frustration in your fingers, but it sounds like you have been doing well with your points. Keep your chin up.

I'm wondering if we aren't having some depression [no matter how small] to what is happening in our country and we are turning to comfort food more. I think that is part of my problem. No matter how I think I am going to do good, there is this tremendous pull to make myself feel better and it is food that does it. I know I feel very saddened at mankinds stupidity and leave my destiny in God's hands. Just worry about all the young ones and those that can't take care of themselves. I'm reading more articles and hearing stories that sales of ice cream, chocolate [along with other goodies] and home cooking has increased since Sept.

I'm having a hard time feeling good about me amongst this and I KNOW that it is not helping my weight control. True confession time: I ate a whole bag (14oz) of M&M's yesterday at one sitting. I bought them to make my college kiddo cookies and ended up sabotaging myself. I have a rally this saturday and I'm having a hard time getting 'up' for it. Actually, I think a couple of good nights sleep would help alot.....yes, Eleni, I can relate to that. I am not looking forward to facing the scale tomorrow.

Sorry, if my post isn't very positive, but I just had to get it off my chest. Now, if I could just get it off my belly, butt, hips, etc, I'd feel much better. LOL. Hope you all have a great Tuesday eve.

Eleni,

I am so proud of you girl. Sorry I missed your call today. That is great that you had a great first day with the slim fast. I say whatever it takes. If this jump starts you to losing and eating healthy then I think it is great. We all have to find what works for us. I hope you have continued luck with it. It sure has worked for a lot of people. Glad to hear that you got a good nights rest. Is your breathing getting any better? I hope so. Keep up the great work. I am here for you.

I think you are right about the state of the country. It is hard not to get down when you listen to all the news and the threat of anthrax and dieing with that around the corner. We have it here only an hour from us in albany, NY. It is scary. I tend not to watch the news and I don't pay too much attention to the radio when it is on either just the songs. We only watch the news a few nights a week here. We hardly ever have the tv on. Maybe it is a good thing. I want to know what is going on but it is easy to be overwhelmed by it also.
As for you try to get it together and think about what you are doing. You have come so far. I know that so many of us here are not doing so well in the long run. But we are sticking together and that is what counts. Also not giving up on ourselves or each other will help a lot.
I know you can put down that junk and pick up the healthy stuff. You have come too far to lose it now. Get your butt moving again if you can. How is the back doing? If you find yourself sitting down to eat then get up and do something.
I hope you have a better day. But don't beat yourself up over yesterday or even today. Tomorrow is a new day and you CAN start over again.

I had a great day really. I feel much better tonight then I did earlier today. I have been down all day. The scale was up this morning and I about died. But somehow I pulled myself together enough to call a nutritionalist (the one that was going to speak to our group last week but we had to cancel because no one showed up. They all left and didn't stay for the meeting.) Anyway she really helped me out a lot. The bottom line I am sticking with my points but I am adding in more of what I am supposed to be having like fruit and veggies and more milk. So hopefully that will work. She did it for free and told me to call her in 2 weeks to see if I am losing anything doing what she told me to do.
