Hi Jeni,
I have been so sick the last 2 days. Very exhausted and achey all over, fever. It was like the flu and I think if I didn't have an immune system made of steel it may have turned into something like that. I have a lingering headache today but I think it is from the medicine I took.

I am pumping myself with fluids today and fruit to try and flush out any toxins.

Eating wise, I have been doing well. I do think I need to keep my calories more towards the 1700 mark to combat feeling rundown. I don't see how people go on restricted 1200 calorie diets.

I have been very good about my snacking. I have also manged to walk 3 times this week despite feeling like dog poo. My official wiegh in is tomorrow so hopefully I will have moved the ticker.

How is it going for you?

Amanda

You poor thing! I hate being sick. I think you are doing a good thing by getting plenty of fluids! I can't imagine trying to stay an a low cal diet after being sick. I am doing well exercising, but I have been tempted so much the last two days. I started my Mini-vacation today four days off. I am going to work on potty training my daughter. My husbands grandmother is gave us an aniversary present of babysitting the kids so we can go out. I am not sure which day it will be, but the place we are going to dinner is a steakhouse. I am trying to stay away from red meat, but it is sooooo Good. I may order my primerib and cut it in thirds (the smallest one is HUGE) and eat only a third. The meal comes with a huge serving of veggies so I am going to focus on eating those first. It is going to be hard to stay on my diet this weekend. But, as long as I get in my workouts I will be happy.

It is great having family nearby to babysit. It makes going out so much more doable when you know You will not have to pay for babysitting.

I think cutting it into thirds is a great idea. My weakness would be the baked potato. I love butter and sour cream.

I lost 1 pound this week so I am happy considering how crappy I felt. I swear all I want to to was eat a whole tub of Kozy Shack Chocolate pudding.

Despite feeling like death I went to the Wiggles concert with Oliver last night. It was fun except that Greg was sick and not there. But you barely noticed and I am sure Oliver didn't. What a workout they must get from performing that show. I could not take my eyes off of one of the backup dancers. He appeared to have snorted several lines of coke before the show.

Off to finish up some work and take rest of the day off,
Amanda

I honestly think Jeff looks a little like he's on something on the tv show.

Good job on the pound lost!!! It is such a great feeling when we weigh ourselves and it goes down, not UP!!!

I didn't get a workout at all yesterday because Tommy would not take a nap! But I know one day off won't Kill me. We are going to go for a walk in a little while as a family! I also overdid the Cranberry juice instead of water yesterday.

Tonight I am going out so I am going to do extra workouts since Will is here. Have a great weekend!

Hi Jeni, and welcome from another Washingtonian! Glad you are here!

You got it with the move more/eat less being the way to do it... except personally I change it to eat RIGHT and move your butt.

Hi Jeni:

Nice to meet you. I've lost 58 lbs (21 to go) following the USDA Food Pyramid and working out with cardio and strength training. I lose approx. 5lbs per month. I finally understand the importance of calories in vs. calories out.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the welcome ladies. I am doing well and I am going to stick with it! My short term goal is to look good in my family pics in November, but overall I want to lower my risk for diabetes. I had gestational diabetes with both pregnancies and after 10 months my blood sugar still is borderline. So with the right diet and exercise I should get my blood sugar back into the normal range.
