No weight loss here this week after my big "whoosh" last week. This is going SO slowly...sigh...

I don't feel so "special" anymore with our triple digit temps (F) here in AZ - yikes, what the heck is happening in CA and even in parts of the US midwest?? Honestly I don't remember it reaching over 100 degrees EVER when I lived in the midwest myself!!

So yes, we've been hot here in AZ but we always are during the summer and at least we expect it and are prepared.

I'm trying to clean out some old craft supplies - I hate it, but I've come to the realization that I COULD become a packrat if I don't get my act together here pretty soon and get rid of some of this stuff!!!! I'm about 2 cardboard boxes away from qualifying from that title, btw Yeesh!

Blueberries have been nice in the stores and I've enjoyed those several times this week. Also the cherries, but I think I have to limit myself on those. They may be some of what my weight loss stall is all about this week. Hmmm.

Well time to get crackin and start my project. Hope everyone has a good day

HY: Thank you for you for your kind thoughts, I know Richard and his family will greatly appreciate them. No he wasn't very old, only 59. Same age as me, so it really makes one think.

With everything that has been going on here I haven't even thought about my weight, but know I haven't eaten too badly, lots of melons and cherrys and of course corn, squash and cucumbers. YUM, YUM !!!

The heat everywhere this year has been so oppressive. I don't remember it staying so hot for such long periods before. I hate being cold, but it is starting to sound kind of good Thank goodness for air conditioning. If you have any of that cleaning energy leftover could you try and send it my way
I need to get started on my basement. I started sorting through pictures and have them laying all over the place. Want to get some sort of boxes for them until I can get them to the people who are in them. Figure I had better do it now while I can still remember who they are Some of them my girls won't know or care about and they will just get tossed.
It' almost time for me to head home so had better sign off.Good luck on your project. DONNA

Hi gang -- I'm still on the planet -- just so very busy I have absolutely no time to myself. The heat and humidity is still really nasty and the work-project is in full gear. Also having an on-going car problem that they can't seem to get fixed and my cataracts are acting up (finally booked surgery for end of March) and have a really ugly yeast infection that will not let go (combo of the heat and the stress, I guess).

Anyway, things should get a bit better in another couple of weeks when the major portion of the work-project is finished, but I'll try to get here from time to time. Just forgive me if I'm not too regular for a bit -- as the saying goes -- I will return.

Keep on doing the good stuff, gang.

My it's been quiet here.

LINDA: Sorry things aren't going so well. Hopefully when you get that work
project accomplished the stress level will go down. Car problems
alone can make you think you're crazy. Hang in there things have
to get better.

Not much news from here. Got some much needed rain last night and paying for it today with humidity. At least the temp isn't terribly high but guess it is supposed to be back to 100 by Saturday. Hubby and I want to go fishing
this weekend, may have to go at night.

Have to brag just a little: Hubby and I celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary yesterday. Didn't do anything special, but that is ok with me.

Hope everyone is having a good day. Will check back tomorrow.

I use to post here and then I took a bad detour regained 25 pounds and now back on track. Would love to post here for the support and accountability if you don't mind me jumping in.

I have had my first granddaughter oh this is a great place in life.

Next Friday my husband and I will have our 35th wedding anniversary.

Bobolink I say you should post here! I think it is wonderful to get all the support one can get.

Sounds like everyone is pretty busy here and not always posting so hope you don't mind if I jump back in ladies.

O.K. Neighbor......a good sign! We are neighbors, both from states starting with M, we both have about the same weight to lose and we both suffer from humidity in the summer and freezing winters! One question, I hope you love to cook like me. It would be great to exchange recipes! What kind of a diet are you on? You can call me Bugsy, a name my grandpa gave me since my real name is "June". I hate that name, but he always called me June Bug and the Bug stuck. alas, Bug, Bugs, Bugsy.

No Bugsy you are not too old to join our club - lol!

I think most of us here are also working on "re-gained" weight. I lost around 50 pounds several years ago and had done really well at maintaining the loss until last summer. Then I put back on nearly 40 pounds in a very short period of time, probably due to tremendous stress. Several deaths and serious illnesses in the family and all happened all at once.

Honestly I was stunned when I finally realized I was gaining again and decided to put a whoa on the excess weight before it got even worse. Feb 01 of this year I went onto the Atkins diet. I did pretty well and then **I** had a health scare (it never ends, does it???). But despite all of this, I've managed to lose a total of 17 pounds and have kept it off. Still haven't reached my goal weight but I'll get there!

This little group here has really helped me stay focused

We are very happy to welcome you!

to luflic also!

Like I said in the previous post to Bugsey, most of us here have done pretty much the same thing as you are describing - lost weight, maintained and then found the scales slowly creeping back up. What I love about this group here on this thread is that we all have fessed up and are willing to take charge of our own lives - we know all too well the hard work it takes, but we're up for the challenge

Yes, please do just jump right in. Some days here are busier than others, sure, but usually there is someone that stops by to say hello or ask a question or report a victory!

ACK!! We have had the crappiest couple days weather-wise. Like a big old soupbowl. I even had a headache yesterday - maybe sinus??? Not used to that kind of thing here in the desert. So my energy level is at JBD, aka Just Barely Dragging - lol!

I also started having cramps in my feet (I know!!???) in the middle of the night, so upped my calcium/magnesium supplements and ate an avocado last night for dinner (I think they are a good potassium source - better check that one out tho). No cramps last night, so that must have been it.

A new month is coming up next week and I have been thinking about what goals I want to set for myself for August. I had set a goal of losing 8 pounds for July and I think I'm going to fall short of that number by 3 pounds Still, losing the 5 pounds (so far) for July is something I feel pretty good about.

So for August, I'm thinking about setting a goal for another 5 pound loss. And coming up with an exercise for the month too. I'll let you know what I finally decide to do :-)

In the meantime, wishing everyone a great weekend! Talk to you soon
