Just signed on a few minutes ago and trying to catch up on what everyone wrote.

Its the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet by Rachel Heller. You should really read the book. There is alot of details about it that if you read it will help you overcome the pitfalls that this diet can have. There is also a test in it plus each week you change the plan of the diet depending on how much weight you lost or didn't.

To be honest I've never done this diet and I never make it through 2 weeks of dieting so WAIT and lets see if its really working or if this just a 1 week deal! I'm not being negative but we have all had diets we thought was "the One" we could live with and then eventually fall away. So, before you change whatever you are doing let me see if I can handle it another week.

Everyone is doing so great! Sure there have been a few tight moments but nothing to feel guilty about. Just realize what caused the slip up and prepare for it next time.

Hpnotq, you are why I am drinking water. I listen to the goals of everyone and go "I should do that" So thank you for all your encouragements and thanks to everyone else who has committed to sharing with each other. (ahhh group hug )

  • Woohoo!
Couldn't wait to hop out of bed this morning and onto the scale to find ... (drumroll please) 2.2 lbs. gone! Not bad at all for this ol' bod that loves to hang onto every excess pound! I'll take it!!!

Last night my big bowl of pre-made salad came in so handy -- all I had to do for dinner was grab 2 or 3 cups, plop them in a bowl, open a packet of lemon pepper Tuna Creations, throw that on top with a big squeeze of lime juice and start chomping. It was yummy!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!
  • Well, after a busy weekend and a few too many drinks last night i decided not to get on the scales this morning and leave it til tomorrow. Im feeling slightly hungover this morning, so i know ill be picking at food all day. but ill try and limit it.

hey potato 10lbs. wow... doesnt it feel great. i was 6lbs down this week from yesterday so hopefully by tomorrow there might be a couple more off.

well im gonna go and continue to be hungover for a while haha.
  • Weekends are so hard
Is it just me or does everyone find weekends hard to stick with good food choices? I seem to be on the run from Friday PM till Sunday PM and grabbing food on the go. That is why my weigh in day is Wednesday, give myself a couple of days to try and catch up and eat properly before the scales give me a kick in the butt. Did manage all my exercise times though - one long bike ride and one treadmill session mixed in with two games of golf isn't too bad, just have to stay away from the chips and chocolate not to mention my kahula with milk! Seems like everyone else is doing great - good job on your weight lose girls!
  • Quote: just have to stay away from the chips and chocolate not to mention my kahula with milk!!
I seem to have the kahula problem too! Both times that I have gained was because of that! So whenever I go out, I stick with a diet drink. That might be my one treat when I reach goal! But just one.

It sounds like you did great though! Better than I did. I really need to get on an exercise program!
  • My scale isn't down at all. However, It is TOM.

I've decided to do official weigh ins once a month and use Dr. appointments as much as I can.

I managed a whole week of healthier eating, but I'm still struggling to keep my blood sugar a bit closer to level.

I do great during the week drinking water, but somehow over the weekend I only get about a quart compared the 1/2 gallon or more during the week.

This weeks goals for me are to continue to limit and find sources of processed sugar and drink more water on the weekend.

And Everyone is welcome to a bit of my will Power dust!!
  • Happy Memorial Day everyone.

Potato-I'm glad I'm inspiring you to drink water. I've had a crappy water drinking day today, but hey I can't drink so much every day lol. Hope you had fun on the boat today.

Donna-Way to go on 2.2 lbs! Keep it up!

emzi_bops-Hope you kick the hangover quickly and you're able to at least munch on somewhat healthy foods.

cybersis-I find myself busy on the weekends, so I just have to make a little more time to prepare something healthy. It's not an easy adjustment though.

Kitty-No loss is alright...especially when it's TOM. Shoot I was excited when I didn't gain anything for my TOM.

    Everyone have a fabulous night!
  • Ok so the hangovers gone and im back at my diet with no problem, i thought i would coz once i miss a day its so hard for me to get back into it. The only problem i have now is im sick. ive had a cold for just over 2 weeks now and last week i thought it was getting back and then this morning all i wanna do if cough and be sick. which isnt good especially as i have a job interview at 6:30pm, i was very tempted to phone her and asked for it to be moved but it doesnt look good so i will just go. its not just a normal interview tho its a hairdressing one. so i have a models hair to do and it all goes down to performance and speed. we will see. right well ill check in a bit later let you all know how the interview went/whether i made it or not .lol.
  • sticking with it week 2
Good morning everyone! I hope everyone had a great memorial day!

Thanks Hpnotq, we had a blast on the water yesterday!! You would have been proud of me. I only drank water. I'm actually beginning to crave it. Now, that is different for me. So how did you do on your total weight loss for the week?

KKitty, enjoy TOM while you're young. I have an Aunt Flo and the older I get the more frequent and unexpected are her visits. But I did hear she will eventually stop coming around all together. Unfortunately, she sends other relatives like Captain Flash, I hear he's hot.

cybersis, emzi_bops, you may have to take a lesson from LindaB763 and stick to diet drinks.

Way to go ladynredd!!! You have been doing so great!

Hey Pinkwhispers05, What diet are you currently doing? Were you able to find the book I was talking about?

2CMEAGAIN I can't wait to hear what happened with your friend!! I know you looked awesome!!

Most of us are now into a new week. I can't wait to hear everyones goal for the new week. For me I think I just want to be able to stick to this diet without having a binge attack. I would like to see myself losing an average of 2 to 3 pounds a week until all the weight is gone.

Also, Jjeanne are we changing the post each week to read week 2, 3, etc?

Here's to a great new week!

Who won the race???? My dad is a big nascar fan so ive gotten into the habit of watching the races hehe.

Quote: After the race I didn't feel like doing anything, but I had just brought home Billy Blanks boot camp from work to try out....so I just did it. WOOOO what a workout! That guy has some amazing stamina. I'm exhausted, but I feel absolutely fabulous.

Quote: We can always count on potato to end our pity parties and kick our butts back in gear (THANKS POTATO!!!).
Somehow.. im always needing a swift kick in the behind for something lol.... I am drinking a lot less soda now than i have in a while.... i think ill just start freezing my water that way it stays cold all day! Youre right though. there's more energy with water.... i think i will hang around for a while.. seems like a lot of awesome people here...

  • Hi to all!
It took me awhile to find you and man have ya'll been busy.
Potato: Congrats on the 10 lbs lost!!!!!!!!!!!
Lauracarrot: I make a pitcher of sugar free koolaid every morning and drink it by the end of the day. I usually take some of it to work with me. I started out, not likeing to drink water. I am now more apt to drink water or koolaid and my diet coke consumption has dropped to just 1-2 a day from 6-8 a day.
Emzi bops: Good luck on your interview!!
Donna D: Congrats on your 2.2 lb loss. I'm a Donna too. Your an RN also, right?
Good morning to everyone and hope you had a good memorial day weekend.
I lost 1 lb last week, hope it's a little more this week. I weigh in on Thursday afternoon's
I went out of town and was really pretty good on my diet and I got up each morning and walked for 1 hr. This morning I walked 4 1/2 mile and it took me 1 hr and 10 minutes.
Everyone keep up the good work and look forward to getting to know everyone.
  • Stick with it week 2
Yea exquisitern! 4 1/2 miles!!! You are the queen!

This is what I love about our support group. Some have been on a diet alot longer than others.
Some of us have more to lose than others. Some people have started an exercise program
while others are just trying to find a diet program they can live with.
We are all at different levels of the diet of our choice.
But each one of us really have the same goal and that's to look and feel the best that we can.

I believe that the key to our support group being successful for each of us will be honesty and encouragements. What I mean is if we have a bad day of "cheating" or maybe we just want to quit because it doesn't seem like its working. Then its important for a women to express how she feels even if its negative. But allowing her to stay in that condition is where all of us come in.

As a general rule in our group. We are allowed a Pity Party for 1 minute! That's it! No more! Minutes up. Then we pick ourselves up and continue on!

We have a awesome support group and I know that all of us are going to "Stick to it" and achieve our goals. ahhh group hug

  • Hi Everyone,

I'm trying really hard to catch up on the posts, but since I've been gone for 4 days its kinda hard.
Well my weekend was great. Enjoyed some much needed time with my dh and dd.
No weight loss to report today but I do have something rather exciting to share. On March 1st some of my coworkers and I started a weightloss challenge. Well it ended last Friday. Because I was off on Friday I didn't know who won. Well lo and behold this morning I found out that I won. I couldn't be more excited. I walked away with $400.00. Yippee
I think I'll wait until I loss a few more pounds before I go on a shopping spree.

Well I'm gonna go back and try and catch up a little more.
Hope everyone is having a fantastic week.
    Talk to you all soon.
