Good morning or afternoon depending on where you live! I had to go to the grocery store this morning so had to get around and get showered and dressed and foofoed, which was a pain. I have this thing about going out and not being all dolled up. It goes back to my whacked out head thinking I am always being judged. Anyway, have that done and a frying chicken in salty ice water for dinner. We haven't had fried chicken for quite awhile so thought I would give Jack a treat.
Have any of you used those round tap light things? I wanted something for my hallway upstairs so my sister could go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and there are no outlets in the upstairs hallway so I bought a small version of one of them and hung it up behind the bathroom door (the door swings out into the hall) It seems to work really well, but I will see tonight. I wanted the hall lighted but no so much to disturb your sleep and we leave our bedroom door open because the pets come and go. If we close it the dog has a fit and sits and whines all night!
Yeah, that choking thing was really scary. I haven't ever been where I couldn't get enough air in to cough and this was positioned just in a way that kept enough of my airway constricted so I couldn't stop coughing, which meant I couldn't get in a good breath to either swallow it or cough it out. Thank goodness for Red Cross training I took several years ago.
Jean: Snow!? EUWWWW! We are chilly here and wet but thank God no snow especially with wind. I heard on the radio this morning coming back from taking Jack to work that a lady in Lubbock died when a restaurant roof collapsed on her. My dh's sister and family live in Lubbock so I guess I should get him to call out there to make sure everyone is ok. Sounds hokey to me that having the crack is ok with just tape on it. PUHLEASE! Oh and wouldn't that be grand to have the kids and the grandbabies closer!
Gloria: Hope your friend makes a full recovery and they can stay where they are if they so choose. It is so awful for elderly folks to have to move out of their homes so much of the time. A lot of people over 60 have had their homes for years, raised their families there and then end up having to sell and move to something small or sell and live in some assisted living place. Too bad we can all live to 80 our bodies not get old but we just die!
Well, I need to eat some lunch and get a few things done around the house before I go get Jack. Hope you ladies are enjoying your day!
