Good morning or afternoon depending on where you live! I had to go to the grocery store this morning so had to get around and get showered and dressed and foofoed, which was a pain. I have this thing about going out and not being all dolled up. It goes back to my whacked out head thinking I am always being judged. Anyway, have that done and a frying chicken in salty ice water for dinner. We haven't had fried chicken for quite awhile so thought I would give Jack a treat.

Have any of you used those round tap light things? I wanted something for my hallway upstairs so my sister could go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and there are no outlets in the upstairs hallway so I bought a small version of one of them and hung it up behind the bathroom door (the door swings out into the hall) It seems to work really well, but I will see tonight. I wanted the hall lighted but no so much to disturb your sleep and we leave our bedroom door open because the pets come and go. If we close it the dog has a fit and sits and whines all night!

Yeah, that choking thing was really scary. I haven't ever been where I couldn't get enough air in to cough and this was positioned just in a way that kept enough of my airway constricted so I couldn't stop coughing, which meant I couldn't get in a good breath to either swallow it or cough it out. Thank goodness for Red Cross training I took several years ago.

Jean: Snow!? EUWWWW! We are chilly here and wet but thank God no snow especially with wind. I heard on the radio this morning coming back from taking Jack to work that a lady in Lubbock died when a restaurant roof collapsed on her. My dh's sister and family live in Lubbock so I guess I should get him to call out there to make sure everyone is ok. Sounds hokey to me that having the crack is ok with just tape on it. PUHLEASE! Oh and wouldn't that be grand to have the kids and the grandbabies closer!

Gloria: Hope your friend makes a full recovery and they can stay where they are if they so choose. It is so awful for elderly folks to have to move out of their homes so much of the time. A lot of people over 60 have had their homes for years, raised their families there and then end up having to sell and move to something small or sell and live in some assisted living place. Too bad we can all live to 80 our bodies not get old but we just die!

Well, I need to eat some lunch and get a few things done around the house before I go get Jack. Hope you ladies are enjoying your day!

Jean: Re your updating Norton? I just renewed Norton for a year. Last year I had to purchase, at a store, and so this year is a renew. I did not have to restart but I noticed that there was an upgrade that needed to be installed. Is that what you did. If so maybe next year I will upgrade if it isn't too hard to do. Thanks for the info. Gloria

Good morning ladies! Boy is it chilly here this morning. I had to take out cat litter to be picked up by the trash men and only went out in sneakers and pjs and BRRRRRR! I think it is in the 30's here this morning.

Gloria: We have McAfee and they just notifiy us when there are upgrades and usually we can just do it through the notification.

Jean: I got tickled at your Good Housekeeping comment. Actually my sisters think I am a clean freak just like everyone else so I guess in my mind I have to keep up the image or something. It is really stupid as none of my siblings keep immaculate houses and it doesn't bother me an iota. Now my brother's family are pigs. I mean their house was so nasty that they had a path from the front door where one person could walk through. My sil and db never were clean nicks, but the house usually just looked overly lived in you might say, but then they just let everything go I guess. They now have a brand new house they moved into just a few months ago and I wonder if they have started it all over again. Truthfully, I don't know how they sold the house looking like it did the last time I saw it. As for my sisters, they have a house that looks like a family lives there. I guess mainly I am a clutter phobe. It drives me stark raving nuts to see papers, shoes, jackets etc not put away. If I could just get past thinking anyone that walks in my door is going to go out it and gossip that I keep a nasty house or for that matter be able to get to a point where I can say who the H cares what they think, I would be CURED! Yesterday I kept the car and when I got home, picked up every scrap of paper in it and took the cd player and the couple cd's Jack had been listening to in the house and put them away. He got in the car in the afternoon and went looking for it and I told him I put it away. I told him I was sorry I didn't know he wanted to keep it in the car and that I don't purposely try and irritate people, but I know I do. He just said, "It only gets irritating because it is all the time." He is right of course.

Well, gals, I am off to clean the upstairs bathrooms as my muscle in my back is too sore to mop downstairs today, which is today's cleaning chores. Have a super duper day everyone and do something fun!

Good Morning, Flowers! The sun is shining brightly although it is a "chilly" 19 degrees in my neighborhood this morning. I've had my toast and coffee, read the papers, showered, am dressed, and ready for the rest of the day! I'm going to try on shoes today! I've got an assortment of sizes from a couple of years ago, pre and post toe surgery. What is too big, too tight, or too short/long is going, going, gone!

'Gma' -- I don't have a tap light, but Amanda uses one on the changing table. After Ian was out of the crib, before Zowie was born, he thought he needed it in bed with him. Now it's back on the changing table for Zowie. It gives off just enough light to see what you are doing but is a bit brighter than a night light, I think. Our snow is melting and there are bare spots in the yard so I imagine most of it will be gone in a couple days if it gets above freezing. The rain in Texas was scary; we get rain but never anything of that magnitude. My downstairs is usually picked up in case anyone would stop by, but the bedrooms definitely accumulate the clutter. Maybe I've told this story, but we had neighbors when we lived in Ohio and she was the clean queen in our neighborhood. She smoked and as soon as she would finish a cigarette she would wash and dry the ash tray! If her kids were playing a game and left it set up for whatever reason, she would pick up the pieces and put it away. They had plush carpeting and she would vacuum herself out of a room only to have the cat walk across it and leave paw prints. She'd get the vacuum out and do it again! I'd love to know what happened to them. I'll bet the kids are either anal clean or have the lived-in look at their houses. Bob can't see the dust and crumbs but hates the clutter; I can't stand the dirt and grit, but am a good pile-it person!

Gloria -- I just buy the renewal online, download it, and install it. If I can do it, anyone can! I buy the 'extra' thingy whereby I can redownload it for a year in case anything would go wrong or I would change computers. I haven't had any trouble doing it and since I am a computer clutz, that would happen to me if it were going to happen. It automatically will download anything new for the year and warns a couple weeks in advance that the year is about over. I like it!

I hope you all have a great day! I need to get moving!

Jean -- in Iowa!
