  • Morning ladies...

NANCY...thanks for the recipe, sounds yummy and I will definitely be trying it!

ANGIE...sorry about the DVD's! I saw a commercial for a show ( a series) they are running about the natural disasters and it looked too scary for me to watch. I just don't like seeing that kind of stuff. If the world is going to end then so be it, I don't want to know. Not sure yet about going to Uncle's funeral. I didn't really know him that well, and definitely wasn't close to him. So, it's up in the air. Mentioned it to my mom and she said I didn't really need to come. My dad is having him cremated and they are having a short memorial-that's it. Seems kind of sad to me that he died a lonely old man and didn't really have anyone except my dad and his sister.

    Anyway...Hi to everyone else

Not much going on so really don't have much to say. But wanted to drop in and at least say HI. Just going to get some cleaning done today-not like the house is dirty though. I've been cleaning ever other day to keep it clean for viewing. Anyway, have a good day ladies!
  • I'm back again! But no one has posted since I was here last. Don't really have anything to say, just really bored. Thought I would check out JL and see what's up. This is the first quiet day I've had like this in a while and I don't know what to do with myself! Anyway...

Hope everyone is having a nice day! See ya
  • Just busy,busy, busy!!

I'm doing laundry, then I have the dishes to do,I need to straighten up the house and I have to prepare some stuff to make a chicken pot pie. going to try and get it all done before I leave for work. I'll make the chicken pot pie tomorrow, just need to make sure the chicken is cooked.

I was looking over the receipt to the clothes I bought for Jhanai, and I didn't save $40, I saved over $100!! I was shocked!! A lot of the stuff was 80% off, who knew. So I was pretty please w/that!! Going to try and get James up there tomorrow so we can look at the home items on sale, maybe pick up a couple of things.

Ok....hello to all. I must get myself going or the time will just fly!

    Chat w/you all later.
  • 2 walmarts later I got my season 3,,,I can not tell you how strange it is for me to be so bored I am hunting down teen shows to watch...lol

I super cleaned my bathroom this morning, and will do another one tomorrow and the next, just one big cycle of cleaning bathrooms.

Last night I made meat balls and baked it with a huge jar of salsa, and spagetti squash. Monte hates squashes so like a lil boy he gagged it down at the end when it was super cold...lol I kept telling him to mix it with his meatballs/sauce...No way!

Went to the library today,,,borrowed a book called Strange Angels...looked interesting and read the first page.

    Nothing else new....
  • We found out what is ailing our big man. He has an upper repertory infection. Sure enough, when we got home, little man was coughing and sneezing just like his big brother. All the doctor told us to do for Brandon, is to give him liquids, rest and to run a humidifier for him. So thankfully the boys share a room so that they both can get the use of the humidifier.

Cristina~ Sorry to hear about your uncle’s passing.

Jane~ I hope the little ones get better soon!
  • Hi ladies,
Nothing much to write. I didn't ride my bike last night, too sick..stayed home again today, but I guess I'll drag my body in to work tomorrow. Actually being inside the greenhouse with the humidity (if there is any sunshine) will help loosen me up even more. Just took a shower with one of those vapor thingies.. smelled good, my worse problem is a sore throat with raspy voice, and a gurgling chest when I breath. I keep using my inhaler and it seems to be helping. I have asthma so colds are a major pain. Sorry to hear the little ones are sickly too Mindee. IT's that time of year I guess.

Angie, is it Smallville that you were tracking down? My son gave me his dvd's last fall, I didn't think I would care for it since it doesn't really follow the known story line, but after a couple of the shows I got hooked, so much so that I even put WB on my satelitte choices so we could watch the new season. Of all of them, however, I liked the first ones the best. The seem to be running out of plot lines. But isn't that beginning song catchy?

Ok, well I'm going to head up to bed. Was up all day, did some office work this afternoon and made supper for hubby and son #4. I am worn out. So I'll head to bed and get rested up, *I hope* for tomorrow.

Have a good evening all and see you tomorrow.

    Ginny
  • Hello Ladies
Sorry to hear that the boys, Mindee. Hope it clears up fast.
Ginny- I hope that you are feeling better soon
Marti- Awesome savings ..... Way to go

My day is pretty uneventful. Cleaning has to be done (but haven't really moved from here this morning) I have to do washing.... so off to the laurndomat, when Bill gets home with the car.
My washing machine's mother board thingy blow up 2 weeks ago.... Hopfully they have it finished by Friday. This laurndomat is a pain in the butt. The price is unbelievable. Last time I went to a laurndomat the machines cost about $1-$2 for a load, Now we are paying $4 a load, can u believe that?!?!?!?
Well I think that is my whing for the day LOL

DD #2 has touch footy tonight, this will be her first game. She was very nervous b4 school this morning.

I'll check back in tonight. Have a good one
  • Ginny, the best thing for you is rest and liquids,,,Brandon is asthmatic and when hes sick we usually do a treatment, OBLA oil (healthfood store) 1 drop, boiling water and a towel over the head or 2 drops on a face cloth dropped on the bottom of the shower floor, he says its gross cause everything gets all well runny...but thats what you want right? I am getting sick of the song...lol I loved at the beginning but Ive heard now14 times...it doesn't sound bad when you double time it...lol

Annette, touch footy is that football? One of my friends from work had problems with his apartment washing machine and had to do the laundromat,,,and ya thats is insane costs. Its $4. for a load here too.
  • I have to call and schedule a follow up appointment with their pediatrician tomorrow. so, I will ask her if she can tell if they are both asthmatic. Brandon seems to be worse tonight, he has a fever AGAIN. This time it was 100.5, but he pulled it out before it was done, so I am not sure how high it really is. I gave him some tylenol right before he fell asleep, and he woke up with the fever. Tommy went to the store to get a slurpee/slush to see if that helps him break his fever.
  • Mindee can you give a bath...slightly warm but keep adding cool water till its luke warm? its a great way to bring down temps..
  • Mindee, hope he's fever has came down.

Angie, it is a type of football, but no contact. I'm only learning the rules as I've never had anything to do with this game b4. Here is the link I've been looking at if you wanted to have a look http://www.cybersydney.com.au/kids/sar/touch.html
  • should i remove that link? sorry wasn't really thinking.
  • Annette, no I know exactly what touchfootball is, thought you were meaning something a bit different with touchy foot. I played touchfootball in high school. It can still get a bit rough when some of the players touches are a bit hard...lol I remember slidding in the mud with my face...lol Its a great game, my youngest son used to play football, and plans to go back to playing.

I went out last night to hunt down costumes for Tanner's Aladdin play. And to visit with my theatre friends.

Just got a call from a friend (theatre) who does this beer competition. Its called the Eddies. (don't know why because the beer is called Big Rock) yes my company sells it, but only in another province. Union, goverment blah blah.
Anyways my friend Laura every year enters a commercial, with another few hundred people. She always calls and gets ideas from us (meaning Monte) of what she should do. The ideas Monte comes up with are hilarous, he has made me almost pass out laughing. Last year he gave her an idea for this year and well no one wrote it down but we both remember crying laughing so hard,,,think we can remember? It was something about a crusty old guy and a pair of boxers that are one stitch away from falling apart. And well they do as he walks away..... And the weird thing is I was doing the play Iolanthe and one of my cast members came over to chat with us,,,and older man,,,whom then said cursty old man eh? I look like that every morning. So we even had the guy, and hes willing to drop his boxers...lol
The winner of this competition gets their commercial used for this company.
This is a big gala sort of thing,,,gowns and tuxes, unless you wear a costume,,,some people go all out. Tickets are hard to come by, and are about $150.

    I love brain storming,,,my imagetion gets a bit wild...lol

Nothing planned today, folding clothes, cleaning the one bathroom and then once Monte is home to the bank...
Anywho I should get myself going,,,I can then rest and watch season 3...
  • Hi gals,
Sounds in here like it does at work. Everybody has the crud as we used to call it. I went to work this morning, came home at noon, I'd had enough. Wore me out, had to go start planting in a newly opened house this morning and it hadn't warmed up yet, even with the sun shining I was still chilly and tired out, so tried to take a nap, can't sleep so thought I'd check in here. Not sure what obla oil is but I did use one of those in the shower tablets last night, it did help. The air in the greenhouse helped to, but now its all stuffed again. AS long as I keep coughing up the crud I'll be ok, it's when it don't come out that causes the problems.

Mindee, the bath idea works, just don't let him get chilled. My oldest had fevbral seizures when he was baby, his temp would spike suddenly, I would have to give him baths to bring down his temp before it got to high... they even did it that way in the hospital for him.

NOthing to write about, so guess I'll give son's state tax forms another try. Hopefully everyone will feel better soon. We need to think positive.

    Ginny
  • Hi gals,

Couldn't get in here yesterday at all! Kept getting the "busy server" message. I'm really pressed for time now, but I just wanted to say hello. Neal and I are on our way to see about a new, flat panel TV. Our old TV in the living room is making a weird, whiney noise and it's time for a new one.

    Have a good day!
