I am going to the beach in 2 weeks and don't even own a suit that fits me. That is so depressing. Been trying to work up the courage to order one.

I'm in too! I need to lose at least 28lbs by June 20th as after that I wont be able to get 50% off clothes in my friends store!
Though I am going on three holidays between June & September with some people I may never see again so I need to look good. Getting gym membership and swimming & running & aerobics at least once a week with a serious cut down. Should be good :D |

Works well on making the tummy look nice and hiding the butt. They didn't have my size for the top but I found one at Walmart of all places :) Cheap too! It's a halter style tankini. I just never thought I'd be able to pull it off so I never bothered trying until I saw them on sale and the price was just too tempting :D Oh! Maybe you could try Old Navy. I was there last week and they have some really pretty mix and max bathing suits, lots of tankini tops! :) Ooooh! So glad I can be apart of this great group. I have been doing great on my diet my hard time is at night.I have to fight not to munch.I so get the munchies.Have any ideas to help? Snacking on carrots and stuff like that just gets me wanting more snacks then it leads to bad snacks. Some day I hope I get small enough to wear a bathing suit in public.I am trying to work hard at this and get healthy. Everyone is working hard that is so great. I also don't like to drink to much water I know I need to. I am addicted to pepsi.Haven't had any in a while though. Have a Great weekend everyone! |
Happy weekend Beach Babes. I might actually wear a swimsuit today. Under my other clothes, it is just warm enough here today to go kayaking. Yesterday when I was driving home from work the sun was so nice and I just wanted to be out in it. I have to get my workout in, read a chapter, and if I get all that done I am headed to the lake. If it is like yesterday afternoon I might be able to shed the shirt and get a little sun on my white white body. I drug out all my swimsuits a week or so ago and tried them on. Last years is too big but I think I can wear it a couple more times, for sunning if not for swimming, before I have to let it go. That's a great feeling. I am going to try to make do with what I have now until right before my trip in July. There is a tankini in the drawer that I bought on sale a couple years ago to shrink in to. Not there yet, but getting closer.

I live an hour from the beach, so it's a must for me. I have a new daughter- she'll be six weeks tomorrow. I was 270 when I got pregnant. Actually LOST weight while pregnant, weight 225 at a checkup 10 days after delivery. I've gained some back already, from sitting around the house doing nothing. I was working as an ER nurse, but now do nothing. I go back to work the 20th. My short term goal is 210lbs- I'm thinking by May-ish sounds reasonable to get there. I'm more concerned about inches and sizes than pounds. I like working with weights, so I understand the weightloss won't be as big but the loss of fat will. Long term goal is 150-160lbs or a size 12, whichever comes first. My plan is to stop snacking. I think a huge factor in the weight I gained recently was snacking, from buying huge things of nut bars in bulk at Sam's, and then eating a LOT of those throughout the day. At least they're gone now. :) Soda is another big factor. I don't think I can cut it out totally- I've done that before. The burning desire for Dr. Pepper was horrible. I need to indulge a little bit, jsut not only drinking soda all day. I have a gym membership. It will be easier once Anna (my daughter) goes to daycare starting next week. Right now, if I wanted to go to the gym, I have to balance that between my time and DH's time (he's in school). She starts daycare Monday, so then I can go there without worrying where she is at (they won't take kids in their daycare until they're 8wks). It's on the way to work, so I plan on going before heading into work also. -Andrea |

:( I was doing so good until I had a gnawing craving for french fries last night. I gave in and had a small plate of them. But, today's a new day and the treadmill's calling my name. Bad thing is, I have to stay on it a lot longer to burn off the extra calories from last night. I'll probably break my workouts into two sessions today. I have two small children to take care of and I really don't want to be down for the count. LOL.

I want to set my first goal for a month from now at least 10 pounds and another 10 by memorial day. I am currently 154.6 to be exact and need to get back to 118!! oh my gosh, how did it get to be 36+ pounds, yikes

Happy Saturday Gang! How's everyone's day shaping up so far? I've been up & at'em since 6 this morning. Finally done running around with the kids and now it's time to hit the housework. I'm not all that eager to start so decided to stop in here first. :lol: Weather today is breezy, not at all like the 80's we've been getting, but next week is supposed to warm up alot. Definitely not ready for the summer that's about to hit here, not with the lack of rain so far and all the potential for fire.
Exercise hasn't been done today, debating on taking the day off since I've done 5 days this week. Not sure yet. If' I feel compelled then I may jump on my bike and ride for 30 min. or so. This past week wasn't so great with food, I think cos' I've been discouraged with my weight loss so far. I do take medications daily and figuring this is the culprit. seeing the dr on Monday so hopefully something will be done about this. I'll let ya'll know. I wouldn't care so much about the # on the scale if I was seeing something happening in the way of my clothes fitting better or something. Anything! Hello :wave: to all the girls I haven't met yet here. I'm so excited that we have such a great group of motivated people ready to knock out some pounds. I look forward to getting to know each of you and hearing about all your success on our journey to summer. yesterday I was so bad with my points. Used 13 extra flex points because of that lunch at Mcdonalds. Have been doing so much better with my points today:)
Everyone is talking about swimingsuits.....here I'm just hoping to get into an size 18 LOL Any wi day is fine for me. Last few days i have been jumping on the scale everyday....need to stop doing that:( |

I'd like to join too, if I May. I need to lose a lot of weight anyway, but my family always spends several weeks at the beach each summer, and I HATE to go at this weight!!! I always lose weight when i open up my backyard pool for the season, as i swim about 5 miles each week. I stopped smoking 7 weeks ago, and hope that will help me swim better. I think this excess weight is partly from stopping smoking, but i am at my all time high of 213 right now. I want to eventually get down to 175. I would settle now for dropping 20 pounds by about June or July. I LOVE to swim, and lift weights. I also do not "mind" treadmill and stationary bike works quite wo much anymore. I Used to hate it, but it is not as unpleasant since i stopped smoking. That is what baffles me....i just decided one day to stop smoking....have not had one puff of a cigarette since.....but i cannot get my weight/eating under control! Does not make sense, does it? I would love to be part of the support group here.

Hi to all the new comers. Glad that we have a good support group growing. Hey Molly - CONGRATS on quitting smoking. You just increased your life span - feel good about that. I am working on quitting also... but I'm waiting to really truly quit until after anatomy and physiology class this semester because I am afraid that the withdrawals will divert my attention from my studies so I am only smoking about a pack every 3 or 4 days. I had my son's and husband's birthday party today and I ate cake and ice cream so bad I know it was just to hard not too. I stayed up till 4 am decorating so that it would be a surprise party turned out very well. We played pin the tail on the donkey and it was so funny!But I am very tired. I weighed this morning I always weigh in on Sundays and I lost 3 pounds for the week:D . So that is good. I hope I didn't gain any back after the cake:?: . I am off to clean up the party mess now. The weekend sure zooms by fast! It's beautiful out today. Not too cold. Spend yesterday cleaning everything. It was my "day off" but I think I burned more calories vacuuming every little corner of the house than I usually do on the treadmill. lol Had half a piece of chocolate cake last night. It was my "treat" day, but it's more like a treat item than a whole day. I don't think I could ever bring myself to have a whole day of treats after working so hard all week! I have to work on letting myself have treats! I enjoy them but at the same time, I can't kick the "ohhh I shouldn't eat that" mentality. Last thing I want is to start obsessing ya know? Weighed in this morning and was 212 on the dot. Woot! :) The scale had been teasing me all week with that number. Looks like it's here for good now. A new week is here, which means it's back to working out for the next 6 days. It's weird to say but I actually look forward to it now! :) Tonight will be weights and cardio. :lifter: :woops: Go go go! :cheer: Have a great week everyone! |

I just found this post and hope it is not too late to join! I have a plan but just need help sticking to it. I used to use my sister as my support but not ever having a problem with weight she was not the best help. I have about 20 lbs I would like to lose by summer and I know I can do it!! (think positive, right?) Plan - 1200-1500 calories a day More water Walk 3-5 days a week - 30-45 min. Not be so down on myself when I fall. I do pretty good on the weekdays, it is the weekends that are my major downfall. Thanks for the thread!!:carrot: |

I dont eat more now then I did when I lost weight,,,,,,,and I even added 1-2 miles walking 3 times a week!!!!!! WHat is going on here ????? |

I can usually drop weight naturally in the summer, due to swimming and being outside "doing things" all the time. In the winter, I pretty much stagnate and wiat for Spring! I stopped smoking 7 weeks ago, and now i am at my all time high weight!!! I need to lose NOW, and also need to come up with a "plan of attack" for next fall. You see, when the pool is closed, and I no longer swim, i start gaining fast. Mid September to early April is my "DANGER ZONE". I love to lift weights, so may devote more time to that next year. ANy other ideas will be welcome!

oooh, I love the beach and would love to join ya'll. I'm starting back to WW meetings tonight and will be counting points. I walked the dogs 2 miles this morning and plan to get another 2 miles in later today. My goal is to be below 200 by the end of May (will get my official weight tonight but I think that will be about 20 -25 lbs.).

Hi everyone, I just joined today and would love to be part of your group. I actually started my "lifestyle" change back in January and have lost 12 lbs so far.
This year will be my 40th birthday (in May) and my 20th anniversary (in July) and my daughter will be going to university in the fall so it's definitely a milestone year for me. I want it to just get prepared for all these changes as well as make it the best decade of my life. (my 30's really sucked with a lot of health problems) I look forward to being in a bikini by my 40th! Carol |

I see there are some new girls along for the ride. Welcome!!! Our number is growing, strength in numbers and all that jazz! :) Many congrat's to all the "losers" here. It's awesome to hear such motivation and excitement from you all. Keep up the fabulous job ladies! To those that are struggling keep the faith. I am right there with you, having a real tough time losing and this weekend I got real discouraged about it. But we must keep on, we're worth the work that it takes to get healthy! We can do this! I am hoping that the visit with my dr this a.m. is what I've been waiting for. I've gotten a reduction in meds(which I think are causing me to hold my weight) so hoping that will be all it takes to get the ball rolling. I'm crossing my fingers real hard, cause I plan on working hard this week and see what my outcome is on Friday. Hoping for the best! Ladies, have a super day and keep shining! |
Well, today so far has been a good day. However, I gained 2 lbs this weekend. I really need to get on track on weekends! I am bit concerned about dinner. That is my other downfall. So far I have consumed about 572 calories and dinner is only a few hours away so that leaves me with plenty. I also walked 2 miles this morning. I just have to keep telling myself that I can do this and that May 30 (my goal date) is not that far away. I just love food!!!

9 lbs gone so far.... 4 this month so I have 6 more to meet my goal for the month. As much as I want to eat a burger and a piece of cake- I want to feel healthy & sexy more. I guess that is what is different this time. I've always wanted it but it's about what do I want more. Have a wonderful week. |
