Weighty Issues #38
:welcome2: to the March edition of our Weighty Issues thread.
Feeling Lucky? :lucky: Need some new inspiration? We're a group of wonderful women from different walks of life, spread out from the US east coast to the west, the Pacific and the Far East! We support each other through the highs and lows of every day life--it's not just about weight loss, it's about LIFE. If you have something to say or need a shoulder to cry on, come on in, grab a chair and stay awhile. You'll be glad you did. |
Good morning ladies....did everyone indulge on Fat Tuesday yesterday? We had malassadas (those Portuguese fried donuts) and I must've ate 3 of them, I did count my 9 points though, so I had to have a low point soup for dinner. Oh well, there's always a way around it right? Gotta live a little. So for lent, i'm giving up... :chin: gotta think about that for a while
Kempy, good job at your weigh-in. :cp: 13 lbs is a good number! I know your friends will notice. Have fun! Cherie, hey, no hiding! :) You could read the first paragraph on our thread--"it's not just about weight loss, it's about life".... we're all friends right? You can come here any time and it doesn't have to be just when you're OP or doing good. And it's a new month so we can all start over again. How are the braces feeling these days? How's Hannah coping with hers? Hi Julie ... and surf, did you guys watch AI last night? You know, the only ones that stood out for me were Mandisa and Paris. But Simon was right about Paris choosing songs that would make her come off as really old  I think Paula's on drugs (still!). Everybody have a good day, gotta get ready for work. |
I will post this here. I just posted it on the old thread.
Good Morning guys. I seem to have lost my drive to lose. I didnt lose all that much all this last month and quite frankly I am not wanting to deal with it right now either. I dont want to be super strict like I usually do and it just isnt working if I am not. So I am trying to decide if it is really worth all the effort. You know what I mean? I have been exercising all week but I am up 2 pounds...which is my fault totally because I didnt do anything right last week but still... Cherie, I feel ya. That is what I did last week. still am actually but I am trying to at least keep the hope up. (((HUGS)))) Surf, I see you like Ragdolls. I have always wanted one and after Christmas My favorite cat Tinky passed away so we went and got a Ragdoll. She is the sweetest little fluffball. She is a seal bicolor Ragdoll. Her fur is so soft that it does feel like a bunny. It is hard to explain but they are definately different. They go limp when you pick them up which makes it hard to pick her up because when I grab under her arms then she almost slips out of my hands. She is turning into a heathen now and the kittens wont play with her now because she kicks their butts. We named her Daisy but she gets called Puddin pop more often now. I tried to post her pic but I cant get it small enough to do it. If you pm me your email I will send you a pic of her. Kempy, Have a great weekend. I didnt mean to worry ya. Julie, If you go to RV Trader online you can type in Forest River Wildcat 28RK in Sunset tan and it will show pics of ones like it. Noelle, Congrats on your loss. You are doing awesome. |
(((Angie))) Hey girl, you have lost over 30 lbs this time around, that is an accomplishment! I know how hard it is to make good choices every single day, I struggle with that too. Even if it seems like you've got no motivation now, we don't want you to stay away from here. You girls are like family and I worry if one of us is gone too long w/out a word. I know you'll get your mojo back soon and be that happy, motivating, sparkly person that we know and love. Hang in there!
I looked up your RV and it looks great! I would love to do a road trip with that. Are you guys planning on a Xmas vacation again? Or how about maybe a quick summer one? Like over the 4th of July weekend? That would be awesome. |
Hi Girls Good Afternoon
Angie, no matter if you are losing or not I like talking to you. I can honestly say I have only lost a pound or two in the last month. We are friends no matter what the scales says. I looked up some of those models of Rv's....wow I love them. It is like a home away from home. I would like to take one of those to Disney. Noelle the girls on AI are just not that great in my opionion. I like the guys way better. I am looking foward to watching Chris and Taylor. You are right something is up with Paula. Gotta run girls ds is going to be getting done with school. Hi Cherie, Kempy, Cal, Dips, Red and Surf |
What's good Gurlz!!
I gotta say, I am not feeling this season's AI The girls are aiigght the guys are aiiight I'll give em one more week til I give up completely. Angie- Take this period for what it is...just another minor road bump. Do not ose your focus over one bad week or month or whatever. Yes it is worth th effort. Don't give up on me precious! Noelle- Good for you on losing inspite of your indulgance! Sorry I can't get to everyone tonight biut I got a wireless router to hook up. TTYL. |
Hey girls, just checking in for the night. The Queen Mary 2 is docked at Aloha Tower and we may go out there to see it. It came in this morning and is leaving tonight so I hope we make it. It's supposed to be the largest luxury liner on the ocean today. Angie, is this the same ship that docked in Maine last year?
|
Noelle, Yep that is the same ship that came to Maine last year. I hope you get to go see it.
|
Good morning people! :sunny: :rain: We've got rain today.... we did get to see the QM2 last night. It was massive. Alongside the other dock the Norwegian Wind (NCL cruiseline) was pulling out. I thought that looked pretty big, but once it pulled up along side the QM2, you would need 3 of the NCL ships to make the size of it. I'm glad we got out there. I'm gonna try and post this link to our local news story of it http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/ar...603020351.html
...i hope our ever vigilant mods don't linkosuction it ;) Anyway, honoluluadvertiser.com "todays headlines" has a little article under "Gigantic Ship Draws Crowd", with a link to other pics as it sailed in. Pretty cool. I'll be back later, gotta get the boy ready for picture day at school. |
Hi Girls
Noelle that ship is just awesome. The pictures are beautiful. I would have love to see it. I would love to go on a cruise on that. Tell Michael to say CHEESE:)! I am dealing with a major case of bloatation. I just feel horrible. You know when you have a good cry the night before and wake up and your eyes are puffy well mine are I was not crying. I am going to be drinking water. TOM is not due for over a week. It is probally from junk I ate last night. I think I will go shovel the driveway and get some excercise and maybe that will help. I have been thinking about joining FitDay. Off to make some lunch. Have a great day everyone. |
Hi I hope you all don't mind if I join in on your thread. I am new here and just trying to feel my way around and find a thread where I can meet some new people and possibly make some new friends.
I have a long ways to go before I meet my goal. I was down to 145 - 150 when I met my ex-husband, but you know how tough times seem to bring out the weight and when we divorced I was over 200 pounds. I have stayed at 180-185 for the past 3 years and I want to be at the very least back to 145. I think this site has so many positive people and I need that. |
:welcome3: Aimee  Sure you can join us, the more the merrier and we always welcome new faces.
Let's see... a little about me: My name is Noelle, I'm a 34 y.o. married mom of one 7 y.o. son, I've been married 11 years to a man I love but drives me so cr@zy that I want to strangle him sometimes. Lived in HI for 32.5 of my 34 years  I currently work w/said husband in a plumbing contracting business. Right now I am doing the WW flex points plan (or TurnAround plan as they are calling it now) and have lost 38 lbs in the last 4 mos :cb:. I love all the girls here on this thread like family and hope to get to know you too! Oh yeah, animal lover too--3 dogs, 6 cats, 1 rabbit and some aquarium fish. |
Julie, I haven't been to fitday in a long time..I used to use the free features though. Sorry you feel so bloated. Just drink up that water and you'll get it all out.
|
Thanks so much Noelle. My name is Aimee Leigh, 28 (soon 29) years old and I am in a small valley town in West Virginia. I have a 10 year old daughter - I love her so much, but man if this preteen thing is a prelude to what is yet to come, oh man... That is so awesome that you have lost 38 lbs. in 4 months. I envy you. If I could do that... Congrats to you...
:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Thanks for the warm welcome and I can't wait to get to know everyone. |
Only 6 more school days and 3 of them are 1/2 days. The kiddos are driving me nuts.
Things are going well here...not great, but well. I went to the doctor yesterday for a follow-up and I now have a sinus infection. It is so dry here that the doctor said she is seeing many cases of sinus infections. I told one of the teachers today that if we don't get rain in the next couple of weeks, I'm going to go to Seattle for Spring break!!! I need moisture. Now I have a horrible cough...a smoker's cough and I've never smoked. I think we're going on 140 days, or something like that, without rain. Hello Aimee and welcome. I am Cal (Carol) and I live just outside of Phoenix, Arizona. I'm much older than the others here :) and I have an 8 year old daughter who's in 2nd grade. I've been married to an Italian (he's actually from Italy) for almost 10 years. We travel there as often as we can so our daughter, Ashley, can get to know her relatives there. Hubby is the only one from his family here in the states. I teach 7th grade and I totally understand what you mean by the pre-teen thing. Don't worry, it'll pass...sometime around age 30!!:dizzy: ;) My sister and I took a road trip last summer and we were in WV. Where abouts do you live? Again, welcome. These ladies are like family to me. I get so much support from them. I love them all like sisters and have met 2 of them. I'll be able to chat a bit more after next week. It's pretty hectic now. I have to help chaperone a middle school dance tomorrow night, go to Ashley's last basketball game on Sat., have grades in by Monday at noon and the school is not open on the weekend, administer a district test on Monday, go over all report cards on Wed, get ready for parent conferences on Thurs (until 8pm :fr: ) and Fri of next week, and somehow find time to complete a class by Mar 29 for an SEI endorsement on my teaching certificate. (SEI stands for Structured English Immersion and is required by August of all certified teachers in Arizona). Hope everyone is well. Cal |
Hi Aimee!!
:welcome: :welcome3: :welcome2:
So glad you could be with us Aimee. It is so exciteing to have someone new in our gang. Okay now a little about me. I'm 24 years old (still the baby YEAH :carrot: ) I live in manhattan with my dog Niko. I recently lost 210 pounds (my ex-boyfriend  ) Now I'm completely absorbed in school and work, both of which I do full time. it drives me nuts but I'm counting down to the spring break so it's all good. I look forward to geting to know you. Hello my gurlz, I got a lot of work to do so I'm gonna turn in. |
I'm checking in.... today isn't a good day for me because of my mouth and I feel very whiney.... but I won't be here.... I am glad this week is almost over, I need to find an attitude adjustment this weekend so I can get back on track...
Everyone have a great weekend.... I'll talk to you soon.... |
Good morning ladies, happy FRIDAY!!! :woo:
It is raining still and completely gross and muggy but I took the poor dog for a short walk. I'm thinking about getting her a raincoat from Lands End  I feel bloated as well w/TOM and headachy. I can't wait til it's over. My docs appt went well yesterday, 13 lbs down from the last time I went in Jan. Now I'm good until December. I don't really have anything planned for the weekend so maybe i'll just stay home and relax. Cal, so good to hear you're doing better. Take care of that sinus infection, Seattle sounds like a nice diversion too. Bring an umbrella  I would love to send you some of our rain, we're quite soggy already and a lot of areas are just flooding. Wow, you have a ton of work to do but I know you will get everything done  Tell Ashley good luck on her b-ball game. Hey Dips   Cherie, enjoy your weekend and come back Monday w/a fresh new attitude ;) Aimee, i re-read your post and now I have that John Denver song stuck in my head.... take me home, to the place, i belong, west virginia....  sorry! Like Cal said, the pre-teen attitude will pass, she works with them full time!  So what's crackin' today everybody? Almost forgot! I had to comment on the American Idol vote-offs. I am absolutely ECSTATIC that the ever-irritating Brenna is gone  Now I can actually watch the show and enjoy it! |
Thanks Cal and Dips-n-Twists.... I am so glad that the pre-teen thing will pass... being a mom is a happy and wonderful thing, but man each age has its issues lol... I notice that every age/phase I am like... woooo when will this pass LOL... You know, I have learned that people sometimes don't appreciate women enough. I mean we can have babies and raise them to be great contributive adults and yet we still have all the focus on physical beauty. If only guys knew just how strong and wonderful we really are. So everyone have a really great weekend and celebrate how wonderful we each are. I know I need to tell myself that a lot and I thought maybe it might help someone too.
melekalikimaka - I LOVE THAT SONG!!! LOL I went to the National Fire Academy for West Virginia weekend and we had to share it with Michigan, so when the band played that song us mountaineers (lol) rocked the house. |
Hi Chickies:wave: :
AI is coming down to 2 words – SONG CHOICE! I really like Paris, Mandisa, and Katherine McPhee, but Paris and Katherine really selected the wrong song. I thought Chris really ruled it – and I like the quirkiness of Taylor. But they just gotta pull it out if AI wants to continue to hold the ratings. Maybe their coaches (I know they have coaches) should listen to the judges. And I totally agree – Brenna was annoying as …. Angie – hang in there. I’m in the same boat… lost motivation, but primarily I am just SICK, SICK, SICK. I didn’t get a chance to meet with my first personal trainer – she told me to stay home and get well. So, I will lurk around and post until my motivation returns. I’m looking forward to seeing Puddin’Pop! :dust: to us both. I certainly am getting all my water however. I’m on my 2nd quart of the day and its only 11:30! Jbbm – I just can’t get fitday to work for me. I have a Weight Commander program that I use and I use NutritionData.com for calories. I like being able to build my recipe and find out all the food nutitional information. :welcome: Aimee!! Hi Dips, Red, Noelle, JTC, and everyone else. I’m going to take some Nyquil now! |
Just bumping us up from the 2nd page.
I am all by my lonesome and enjoying every minute of the peace and quiet. :D Rick and Michael went out shopping and I am just doing some laundry and channel surfing on TV. It's 73 degrees and overcast, I'm waiting for the sun to come back out. Nothing much else going on. What's everyone else up to? surf, take it easy and get better soon. Aimee, yup, I totally agree! IF ONLY men would realize how great women are and appreciate them! Your little girl is lucky to have you as a role model. |
Hi guys! Just saying hi. Hope you're all doing ok. surf, get well real soon! Come back to the 21-day thread too! aileigh, you too, thanks for being on the 21. Heh, I don't have kids, but can well remember the teen years myself. They're hard. They would be painful for a mother, I'm sure. Ignore them. Just be there. I sooo wish I could have known my mother as an adult (when I was an adult). I left the States when I was an immature 19 very poorly dealing with her having cancer. She died shortly after my 23 birthday and I wasn't there for her. It would have been her birthday a few days ago and I really miss her. Hope she knows that now. She wouldn't have then. Just get through the teen years, ok, surf? Don't see anything as a reflection on you. They're hard years.
Noelle, dips. angie, cal, jbbm, kempy, cherie how are you all?!!? |
melekalikimaka, thanks for the kind words. We all know my lil girl won't feel she is lucky to have me until she is grown, but that is how life is. I remember when I first realized how much I loved and respected my mom and it was long overdue.
Redballoon, trust me, your mom knows how much you love her and miss her. She also knows and understands why the reality of cancer was hard to deal with. Sometimes as a mother, you get scared of losing your child because the older they become and these phases they go through trying to find out who they are, they back off some. But deep in our hearts, as mothers, we know that we are their hero in so many ways. Your mom felt that way too I am sure, because being a mom and having that love for a child is universal and crosses every cultural divide man can create - we all love our children and we know they love us... don't worry, she knew then and knows now... she was with you in your heart and she is staying right there. I believe that. My mom knows whats going on in my world most of the time without even talking to me. |
Hi Girls
I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We didn't do to much over the weekend. Just relaxed and did a little shopping. Got some snow last night I am guessing maybe close to 2 inches. Not too bad just enought to make the roads messy. I started off the morning with a healthy breakfast now to hold on to that healthy eating throught the day. My eating has not been good lately. But a new week always feels fresh. Cherie, how is your mouth feeling? I hope you had a nice relaxing weekend. Noelle you too, I hope you enjoyed your peace and quiet. I know those quiet times are hard to come by! Okay Angie and Kempy? Come on out:) Hi Red. cal I am glad you are doing better. I hope your sinus infection is cleared up. Dips Spring Break is getting close! Hi Surf and Aimee. Well girls my work is piling up here. Going to go get started. Have a good day and I will check back |
Good morning ladies. I started my morning with a :running: 5.25 mile walk w/my 2 sisters and their dogs. I just had breakfast and am resting my feet...they are aching a bit. This weekend was just a family one, we took Michael to Dave & Busters yesterday then came home and had dinner with the rest of the family. Costco was selling a huge tray of jumbo prawns so Rick broiled some of those up with garlic and butter--so good! :hun: I am going to have some for lunch today too.
Julie, I will enjoy the sunshine here for you since there's enough for everyone :sunny:. I hope your snow melts away so there's no need for shoveling. Good job on a healthy breakfast :cp: Any plans for dinner? I am either going to bake some salmon filets or maybe make a chicken marasala dish that I just got a new WW recipe for. Red, I'm sure your mom understood you for who you are. And she raised an independent, adventurous woman. I'm sure she knew you loved her despite the miles between you. Kempy, how was your weekend? I'm waiting for ya to come back and tell us about it. ;) Cal, how're you doing today? Countdown to spring break must be making you feel better. surf, do you like your weight commander software? Did you purchase yours right away or just test it out? I'm liking the looks of it and it's under $10... Angie, don't be hiding out on us. :p Cherie, have ya got your mojo back? :) Hi Dips! Hi Aimee! how's your day turning out so far? Well, I've got to get moving if I'm going in to work today...have a good one. |
Hi people! Thanks for your sweet words, aileigh and Noelle! surf, how are you feeling now? I hope, better. Everyone else, a big hello! Hope you're well. Where is angie these days? Haven't seen much of her... :dunno:
|
Good morning people :coffee: Where has everybody run off to? :( Did ya get tired of hearing me blab about nothing? Hope you guys can come back and chat some... and lurkers should post too! :) I need you guys for support when the motivation starts waning...I know I need to keep this up for myself, but I like having you guys to talk to since you are my best cheerleaders and heck, you're family! I miss you guys.
Anyway, I watched Just Like Heaven last night (Reese Witherspoon and Mark Rufalo). That was such a sweet and funny movie. If you like romantic comedies I recommend this one--it's fun without being too sappy. I also love that they used the ORIGINAL version of the Cure song at the end of the movie. Reminds me of when Rick and I started dating and he bought me the tape/album Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me (yes, a cassette tape  ) while out on a date... I'm liking Reese Witherspoon alot these days and just watched Walk the Line too (Netflix rocks!) She deserved that Oscar. Weigh in is today and I will post my results when I get back, but first a little exercise :strong: :running:. Have a great day all, come on out and tell me what's new in your world :comp: |
Hi Girls
 Noelle, it sure is getting slow around here. I was wondering too where everyone has gone. I never get tired of your posts! I get to hear about your great weather and dream. LOL I love Netflix too. My Mom said Just Like Heaven was a good one too. I will have to order that one. We watched the 40 Year Old Virgin last weekend. Funny but it was a long one. When the kids would come in the room we had to pause alot of it. But we finally got through the whole movie. I am sure you will see a loss at your weigh in. Good Luck Girl! I have to get to the store and buy something for dh. His birthday is next week. I think I will go the practical route and buy him some clothes for spring and summer. Bye for now:) |
Hey guys. Sorry I missed yesterday. I know I said I would post but I was still tired from the weekend. My friend and I had a great time and I needed a rest from the world yesterday. I haven't read all of the posts but I see we have a new comer. HI!!
I don't have a client until 5 so I am home for now. Joe had one of his wisdom teeth removed and a cavity filled this morning so I am kind of babysitting him too. The pain just came over him yesterday. He will be ok though. He is a pretty tough guy. I am going to take the dogs for a walk and I will try to check back in later. |
hey all what's up... nothing much here and I did my official weigh in only to see that the scale did not budge one bit. Good news is I got 10,000 steps in before 3pm woohoo.
Have a good rest of the day guys. Hi redballoon and you are so very welcome!!! Hey melekalikimaka!!! My days have been going good, how bout urs? If you ever need to talk I am around a lot and can always stop to talk to someone who needs a shoulder. I love to blab also and never anything anyone says is about nothing.... |
Hey all, back from my WI and am down 1 lb, and despite it being TOM week! :carrot: 39 lbs down baby! A loss is a loss and at least it's not a gain :cb: I have to adjust my mindset that losing a pound or even less a week is OK, it IS good enough and I am doing great. Sometimes I think I expect too much (like wanting 3 lbs gone a week for example  ), then it gets to be like I'm not succeeding, where in reality, I'm doing just fine. I have to accept and celebrate the little successes and not beat myself for the IF ONLY's... As far as the Easter challenge....well, I dunno about achieving that
Aimee, 10K steps by 3pm is awesome! It's hard to do some days, but it is possible. Good for you! Thanks for offering an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on. I like your motivation vibes too, it helps :goodvibes: Kempy, glad you enjoyed your weekend. Poor Joe, toothaches suck. Are you doing you WI at home tomorrow? Good luck either way. Hey Red, you're welcome as well. I know you're busy but we still think about you over here. Julie, thanks for the vote of confidence  I liked 40 y.o. Virgin too, I love Steve Carrell, like in that Ron Burgundy movie? Did you see that one? I think he stole the show. So what movies have you seen recently? I need some new ideas. I just got The Pianist (w/Adrian Brody) and Millions (an English film). I'll probably watch one tonight. Hi to Angie, Cal, Dips, Cherie, surf (it's AI tonight!) and everyone  |
WOO HOOO a total loss of 39 pounds is awesome and I envy you!!! PSSSST.... do you realize if you did that thing where you give yourself a smilie/emoticon for every 5 pounds lost, you would have almost 8 of them..... that is huge.... YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!! And you're right, you have to accept the small success because each pound adds up!! I get really excited when others lose because it gives me hope and motivation to work my rear off.
Hi JBBM Hi KempyD Thanks for the welcome surf, I'm sorry it took me so long to say thanks!!! I am really bad at message boards and keeping up with them, reading them and all that because I tend to rush rush rush. YOU'RE VERY VERY WELCOME RED.... |
GREAT JOB NOELLE!
Good Night Girls it is almost 10 and I want to get to bed. :) |
Quick post to bump us up and to say I am down 1lbs!!!!! So, that makes 14lbs now. I am pushing for 20 lost by the time we leave for vacation. I hope I can do it. I am running out the door to head to the store. I will be back later.
|
Woo-Hoo Kempy!!! :carrot: :cb: :cheer: ;) You're rockin'!
Gotta run for now, be back later. |
Hey ladies, just taking a quick coffee break here. :coffee: So yesterday I had a successful weigh-in and when I got home i had a little binge with some mini-cheesecakes that my sister made. Get this, an oreo cookie in a cupcake paper with the cheesecake mixture on top with mini-chocolate chips--w/cherry pie topping. I had 3. I am a dessert-aholic and I admit it. SO anyway, I did have a long walk in the morning, but still, I should have just let one satisfy me...oh well, I will live and learn (or will I?). *sigh* There went a bunch of my flex points. I am on track for today though. Planning on having a can of soup for lunch. I gotta reign myself in if I want to hit that 40 lb mark next weigh in. Do any of you have days where you just "feel" fat? I'm having me one of those today. :sumo:
Hi Julie  We're expecting more rain tomorrow. Hope that makes you feel better  Did you get your b-day shopping done? Kempy, when's vacation for you? 6 lbs is doable, go for it. I watched the DVD movie Millions yesterday, it was so cute. Catch it if you can. I'm watching the rest of The Pianist today...depressing, like Schindler's List. I didn't catch AI last night (watched the DVD instead) but I will watch tonight for the guys. Aimee, thanks for the cheers. Work it off girl, one day at a time and the pounds will come off. :D Hello to everyone... |
Hi Girls
Yeah Kempy:carrot: Noelle those cheesecakes sounds sooooooo good! I don't think I would have been able to have just one. I didn't get dh anything yet. I have until early next week though. I will keep asking him what he wants. I don't think you missed to much on AI last night. I am just not liking the girls that much this year. But I can't wait to watch the guys tonight. Go Chirs and Taylor! Aimee I am always rush rush too. It is hard to post sometimes huh? Just post when you can and say Hi! Well girls I have got to go find something for dinner. I think I will have dh start the grill. Check back later :) Hi everyone |
Thanks guys.
Noelle we leave on April 14. I just know it will be a non stop eat fest though so I am going to try and get down as far as I can. I have never been on a cruise and I know they have lots of food. Those cheesecakes sound great. I had to get a few more no pudge ice cream treats. I can't make the brownies b/c I want to make the whole thing and then eat it all. Amiee what part of VA do you live in? I was born in Fredricksburg. I am sure it has really changed since I was there. Just post when you get a chance. Sometimes we get a little carried away. Julie I was to grill too but the wind is blowing something fierce. I bet we have gusts of at least 25MPH. Not good grill weather. What is on the menu? Angie don't make me call you!!! You better pop up again. What's you weather doing up there? Dips when does school end for the semester? Red I hope you are doing great over there. Is work getting any better for you? Cal are you still going to head out on your vacation this year? Cherie I hope you mouth is feeling better. Joe was much better this morning. Although he did sleep on the side that had the tooth pulled and it was a little sore from that. Otherwise he is doing fine. Ok I am starving and I don't know why. I am going to head to the ktichen to figure out something to eat. I'll be back later. |
Noelle do you count your exercise points? How do you think I should figure when I work out in the yard? I was only triming my potted (notice I didn't say pot this year) :D plants so I wasn't really sweating. Any kind of tip you have will be great.
|
Kempy, I always count my exercise points but I don't always eat them. For light yard work like tending to your pot plants :smoking:  ....i'm kidding!!! I would count it as light activity. Just calculate how long you spent doing it and go according to your activity slider. If it seems like too many points earned, just underestimate. For instance, sometimes when I'm taking the dogs on a short walk and we don't go very far, I'll take an average between light and moderate activity. If I'm on my regular walk for exercise, I'll use moderate activity. I hardly ever get up to the high intensity type anyway...... hope this helps. Oh yeah, I know your dogs are pretty big and if you take them for a walk and they pull you along a little, that counts as resistance training since you're trying to hold onto them. I actually felt a bicep muscle toning up in my left arm (the leash arm) since I've been walking Lucky every day, much more than my right arm  --and she's only 20 lbs.
I think you'll totally be able to reach your goal of hitting 20 lbs by next month. I made the mistake of making a 9x13 pan of no-pudge brownies (2 boxes!) on valentine's day...big mistake! I knew they were there and I ate them til they were gone. Took me a few days but still... not a good thing for me to have around. Julie, I am rooting for Taylor and Chris too. :cheer: I am staying in this evening to watch. Well, gotta get the shoes on and get walking. Chat more tomorrow. |
