  • Faye - way to go!

You all are getting on with the program - good for you.

I'm down .5 this week. Have had 3 points days for 3 days- because I haven't been drinking my water, not exercise for a change.

    Susan
  • Hi all,

I got 2 points for Sat and Sun - went slightly over my calories but no big blow outs or anything, so I'm pleased!

I had my fit ball class today - boy it doesn't get any easier! Some of it was easier, but then she tries out these new moves which are even tougher! I guess that's how you get abs of steel though! The instructor said to me at the end 'you're getting better', which I thought was nice, and this woman said to me that she thought I was really good at it and looked like I'd been doing it a while! I was flabbergasted as I really do struggle with some of the exercises - but she said I manage to lift my legs up higher than most of the people in the class!! Result!!

    The whale died.

I didn't go for the walk in the end - I was too achy from doing a weights workout at the gym and I couldn't be bothered to get up early and go! Sorry to disappoint! I ended up going for a swim, which was the first time since Summer and I found it really tough! I thought it would soothe my aching muscles, but it just made them worse and now I am completely stiff across my back and arms. Tomorrow my abs will be aching - so I think my legs will be the only things which won't be hurting - it's a good thing it's cycle class tomorrow!

FAYE - You are doing so well - I expect you'll have another big loss this week.

SUSAN - Congrats on the loss .5lb is great as you are so close to goal.

JULIE - That poor shop assistant - I'm terrible around vomit, it makes me want to puke myself! Glad you had a nice girlie day with your daughters - despite the puking!

LEE - I am happy that things are going so well for you. I love your attitude - dying your hair red - what fun!

CARRI - Hi! Hope you are okay and the pounds are still flying off you!

    Love Amanda x
  • WAAAHHOOOOOO!!!!

I landed not one, but two totally different jumps today!!!!!

I can now do a bunny hop a good 3" off the ice, and a waltz jump at about 1" off. I'm so happy.....I skated like 3 hours today it all felt so awesome! My coach was so surprised, cuz she didn't teach me the first jump. I've been working on the waltz jump for a week to surprise her. THen after I showed her, she showed me the bunny hop to give me confidence with jumping off the ice. After that, the waltz was much easier and higher.

Anyhoo, it's been a great day. No dance tonight cuz it's snowing like crazy. BUt I think I got my exercise in.

Hope everyone else is having a great day too!

  • Oh, yeah, and Faye the game is basically a computerized version of risk...with really icky sound effects.
  • Julie: How wonderful for you!!!!! Jack plays the computer version also and I know. He usually plays without the sound, but when he does have it on, it is pretty disconcerting. For one thing, we have a separate sound system for the computer downstairs and it sounds like the army is tromping through our living room then you hear this roar of men when he captures something!

Amanda: Yeah for you! Good going girl even if you didn't get the walk in. To get praise for how you do the class so early on in doing it, is great! I haven't read anything about the whale except when I first saw it, but that is really sad. Unfortunately, when they get redirected somehow from the sea, it happens more times than not that they cannot recuperate from it.

Susan: It is easier to drink water than find time for exercise so we need to improve that girly!

Just peeked in to see how everyone was doing.

Jack is almost done with his treadmill workout so I need to get dinner finished. Have a good evening all and your points that you posted today are on last post of page 1.

  • I know this sounds like it was fast, but the entire process actualy took us 2 years, BUT.....

WE HAVE A HOUSE!!! WOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!

Ok, so we made an offer and they accepted. There's still the rest of the legal *stuff* to go through and if nothing catastrophic happens (Julie, you know how our luck is.. cross your fingers!) then we move in in the beginning of March!!!

AAAHHHHHHH!!!! Ok ok ok.. I'm calm now. Really. I really am.

NO I"M NOT! Hee hee hee!!

*sigh!* Things are really looking up for us finally. Maybe.

(Who has been OP very well these days with much less stress)
  • TUESDAY: Today is Target Tuesday and our target this week is dairy. Remember to include dairy in your daily weight loss regimen or at least replace it with vitamin d and calcium supplements. We really need the calcium as we get older and for all of you, the time to make sure you do that is now not later. Dairy can also help you lose weight so drink that ff milk, eat that lowfat ff cheese, yogurt, etc.

    POINTS:

    Faye

LeeAnn: We will all say a little prayer and keep our fingers crossed for you. I am sure everything will go exactly right!

    Gotta get on that treadmill!

    Faye
  • 4 points yesterday!~
    Gotta go skate...
    TTFN.
    Julie
  • Hi all,

I got 4 points yesterday. Oh boy am I in pain today - my abs are hurting even more than last week - I guess because I was more confident and pushed myself further! There is no way I can make it to my cycle class tonight - I can't move without wincing with pain! Oh well - it will get less painful soon I'm sure!

JULIE - Good for you on your new jumps! I am currently watching 'Celebrity Ice Dancing' on TV - where lots of very minor celebs try to ice dance and get voted off each week. It looks so difficult and dangerous - I've never ice skated in my life, and always slip over on ice in the street!

LEE - Congrats on getting the house (subject to legal stuff!). I'll pray that it all goes through smoothly for you. How exciting!

    Have a nice evening

    Love Amanda x
  • Fternoon All ... had a good or so so weekend, I did stay on plan for the most part with just a couple of minor slips ups, but going to do much better this weekend, the weekends are the hardest for me ... but I have found out that sushi is pretty low in fat and that is going to be my reward for this weekend.
Dh loves it and it is growing on me ... any of you guys like it? If so what do you get? I have only tried a few things, I really like the california rolls.

LeeAnn - Hope everything goes all right with the house, I know how that all goes having bought two houses since my early 20's ( I am now 32 ) ... it seems to never go perfectly smooth, but I know it will all work out.

Julie - WTG on your four pointer and on your skating, that sounds really fun, and a great workout.

Amanda - I always feel like if I am not extremely sore the next day that I did not do much for myself, so you are doing great... I gotta go to the gym tonight and do some sweatin' ...

Faye - Great job on the 12 pounds down, don't you love that first full week on, it is always a great loss that week ... keep up the good work !!!!

I meant to say that I lost another 2 pounds last week, but now I cannot remember if I already said that or not last week, oh well ... have a good afternoon everyone!!
  • WEDNESDAY: Today is Wednesday's Woes so if you have a gripe today is the day!

    POINTS:

    Amanda
    Julie
    Faye

Have to run gals. I am up to my armpits in cleaning!

  • I have a big gripe today. I called 2 doctors offices on Monday and asked them to have the doctor to call me at his convenience (maybe that was my mistake) because my husband was getting worse and I needed to know what to do. Here it is Wednesday and now I'm waiting for the offices to open and calling and demanding to talk to the docotr because he is much worse. He has an appointment on February 3 but needs to be seen today or taken to the hospital. When I got home last night, he was sitting in his chair crying because he has spent the last 4 hours trying to get up and couldn't. He has no strength in his legs at all. On the positive side, finally got approved for the full Medicad Spenddown (since I have income) so he is fully covered. I am rapidly getting to my wits end. I can see why people commit suicide...you just can't get the help you need.
  • Oh susan, how horrible for you and your dear husband. I hope you've gotten the help you need by now! Don't your doctors have someone on call at all times? That's pretty standard.

    My prayers are with you.

    4 points for me yesterday.

    TTFN,
    Julie
  • Susan, I am so sorry to hear what you are going through, be strong for your husband and I hope the Dr's have called you back by now... it has to be so hard... I know one of the worst times of my life was knowing that my dh was laying in bed in horrible pain ( back ) and not being able to do anything, I felt so helpless and of course Dr's do not see it as you do with your loved one.

I will be praying for you both.
  • GIRLS, I KNOW SOME OF YOU MAY NOT BE VERY RELGIOUS, BUT THIS IS THE TIME TO BAND TOGETHER AND REALLY PRAY FOR SUSAN AND HER HUSBAND! PLEASE TAKE A FEW MOMENTS EVERYDAY AND ASK GOD TO INTERCEDE FOR THEM!

Susan: I would run not walk to the emergency room and I would put up such a stink that they would do something for him. Don't take NO or being ignored for an answer. I know you have to work, but I would call EVERY hour at that dr's office and I would make it clear that you were going to bug the living hoohoo out of them until you were given what you needed! We are absolutely positively all here for you and please let us know what we can do to help you! We love you and your are part of us!
