Happy New Year Everyone!!!
And what a year it will be. Everyone is so upbeat and ready to get started. Thats great.
SCL~ Thanks for the tips. I've been playing around on the sight and found that there is A LOT of stuff here.
Susan~ The threads that you mentioned are great. Much more info than I thought is to be found here. I hope that your head is feeling better. I am looking into counting calories too. I know it sounds simple but I just can't seem to get in my head how to get started. So please if you have any sugestions...send them my way. I did check out a thread about counting. They were talking about a book called "Calorie Queens" I think. Do you know anything about that? I'm going to look for your accountability thread. I know I can use all of the accountability I can get.
DEE~ Sorry to here about all of your spills. I have been known to take a spill or to lately too. Of all things...I fell UP our deck steps! It was a sight to see and I'm glad that no one did. That happened about 3 months ago and I still have a lump on my leg.
I would like to lose as much as I can in the next 6 months too. My daughter graduates from college in June and I have set the event as my goal. I am afraid to attach a number of lbs. to my goal because I'm afraid I won't make it. So for now I am going to say that I will lose all that I can. Maybe later I can put a number in.
Cindy~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Glad to here that your Mother is home again and doing better. I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers. My Mother is not having a good holiday season either. 4 days befor Christmas she fell and broke her shoulder and then got the flu on top of that. She can't do much by herself right now and doesn't like to ask for help so she has been a bit on the grouchy side.
DJM~ I'm right there with you on the June goal. We'll keep each other going.
SLEDDOGS AND BETTE K~ Glad you could join us. I think we have found a great place to start our new year.
Well now that I have taken up so much of your time and been such a gabby I will say goodbye for now. Motivation and support is the key I think so I'll be here if you will.

it was in the mid 30's, and I decided to go for it. I got about a mile in and, could still keep most of my old speed. I just have to work on endurance. I need to get some cold weather gear, but I might just borrow some of my son't football sweats. At least the ice storm is going to miss us, I hope it doesn't change course. I ned to work on the food part next, i want to get the Sonoma diet book tomorrow, it sounds like something I would enjoy.
