  • Well, I had a terrible night and I am feeling very low right now. Don't want to unload on you guys, I'm the type of person who dosen't stay down long!!
To get this party started, I backed up my tracker to 159. That's what the scale said this morning. I think I can get rid of those 4 pounds pretty easily, it's getting below around 153 where I really start struggling. So hopefully the first 5 or six will come off quick, which will make me feel better which will make me want to keep trying and end up closer to goal weight, maybe break into the 140's for a change, hopefully by early Feb.

So today I am fruit fasting, although I've had coffee. Thats good for clearing out the digestive track anyway.

Today is Day 1 for NO BEER, and my exercise challenge will be either a half hour walk or 20 minutes of stepping (that will enable me to do something when my DH is away or if the weather is impossible)
Both will be level 2 challenges, 2 pause days...

Red, your curry sounds delicious. I love curry, but I don't have it nearly often enough.
Hello to everyone else out there! keep up the good work! And a hearty to Dee2121!
  • Curly, the body challenge sounds interesting, but not open to non-US residents. I may sign up anyway, with my hotmail address which I think masks my alien origins... Maybe you should start a thread to make up a group to follow the challenge? We can never have too many challenges...
  • Day one done
The National Body Challenge sounds cool. They are having a weigh-in at *my* mall (westfield montgomery in bethesda) but I will not get back from my cruise until the evening of the 15th.

Yesterday was yet another day one. I know I will have to start my challenge over again because the cruise leaves next sunday and while I will get a ton of exercise, it is highly unlikely i will stick to 1500 calories a day. I thought about just scrapping all challenges until I am back from vacation, but then I figured it wouldn't hurt me to have a million "day ones."
  • I signed up for National Body Challenge, but there are no Bally's in KY, it seems, so that won't help. But I'm excited about the rest of it, all right!!

Fish, I like the way you think. A million "day ones" add up to a lot!! Good attitude, and keep up the exercise!
  • Morning all. Starting out on my Day 12. The Body Challenge won't be doable for me either, but I wish you all the best on it. Yes, start a new thread for it if there isn't one started already. Perhaps they'll even start a new forum for it. Dee, welcome. Three weeks makes a habit, is what the original starter of this thread heard, thus the thread...if you can do it faster, power to you!! Good luck on your challenge. That's a lot of spinning!
  • day 1

    calories- 1187
    zelle- 15 min
  • Wow, all these Day 1's! I'm impressed with anyone and everyone who starts a challenge right after Christmas. Personally I've decided to wait until Jan 1. Tomorrow night's another party, so... But I'm trying to maintain at the one pound gain.

Red, already at Day 12! I think you're going to make it this time. Just goes to show the power of a challenge that fits. Hmmm. Maybe there's a lesson there for the rest of us (meaning me). Do you have big party plans for New Year's Eve, or will you have a quiet evening at home with your cats? (projecting again. That's what I've got planned.)

It occurs to me that the 3fc moderators will soon shut down the link to the National Body Challenge - it could be seen as a competing weight loss site? Oops. I'd just like to see what they're proposing in the way of meal plans, especially since it's FREE. Of course if I was in the US I'd also want the free gym membership... All in all, though, another challenge would be just too challenging for this challenger, who is, in fact, challengeless at the moment.

Today I finally made my Christmas cakes, and was a tower of self-discipline: bought EXACTLY the right amount of ingredients (no leftover nuts or cherries to "not waste"), and nibbled on less than a half-teaspoon of batter! The trick is to give them all away before I have a weak moment.

Yikes! As I was typing this post, my quotation mark key changed! There must have been an automatic Microsoft update or something. Very weird. The "@" key has changed too. Gives new meaning to the expression "hunt and peck".

Gotta go - just been invited out for coffee.
  • No desserts/treats- Day 12
100 oz of water- Day 3

I'm just back from our pick up rehearsal for

We have a show tomorrow and our last one Friday.

I have weigh in tomorrow morning!
  • If I understand this correctly I get to pick my 21 day challenge. My challenge will be no more eating after 8pm.
  • Hi Trudei, welcome! Yes, you've got it, and I like the challenge you have chosen. I just completed a similar one myself! The first post explains the challenge in more detail, Red really lays it out!

I'm not usually a two-a-day poster, but I'm hungry and I'm trying not to eat the last 2 or 3 pounds of pork roast sitting in my fridge...
I didn't really do the fruit fast, since I had coffee and a tiny bit of black bean soup. But no meat and no bread/floury things and no sweets. I feel better already. Ahhhh.
How ever, I had half a beer, the other half of which was dumped down the sink which is REALLY REALLY unusual for me. I've been known to go around drinking other peoples half finished beers Well, I just hate to see a good beer wasted. but this one was nasty. My brother bought a variety pack of weird beers and it's pretty much all that's left from our family Christmas beer binge and it was gross. So tomorrow will be day one again, (here's to you, fishwoman )
By the way Red, is it me, or is your balloon looking different?

    *snicker*

Well, last night I tried to do a weight lifting thing / exercises and I just up and quit when my boyfriend was critisizing my [girly] pushups that I could barely do. "This is how you do it, see?" and then demonstrated 15 perfect regular pushups.

Gosh, I could barely do 3 of them on my knees....

So I guit after that and one set of back extentions. Bah.

Day 1 may start again later today... we'll see...
  • ehhh .... phys do them when he isnt around lmao
  • Ack! Back to another day 1. I was doing pretty well until I ate the last big slice of blackberry pie left over from Christmas. Pie has much more calories than one would think. I mean, it's FRUIT, darn it! However, there is now no more pie in the house, and only one little piece of fudge left.

PhysDom - just keep trying with the pushups. I do *regular* ones, not girly-style, but when I started, I could do only one. I can now do between 10-15 in a row. You will surprise yourself at how quickly you can do more. Of course, I have to do my pushups FIRST. If i lift other weights and then try to do pushups, I can do only 3 or 4.

Cool cruise news - someone from NCL called my sister yesterday, the ship still had several penthouse suites available, 2 of which were side-by-side, and they offered to upgrade us for an additional $250/person. The new room is over 300 square feet with a 200 square foot balcony. We get priority embarkation/debarkation, a butler, a concierge, chilled champagne and hors d'oeurves on arrival, and some other cool stuff. And the best part? We are paying only $3000/couple for rooms that are offered at $5000/couple. One week away ladies! I cannot wait!!!
  • 99 Luft Balloons...
Day 12 down and done! No time to read everything and reply now. Will catch up tomorrow morning. But, yes, Apple, hurrah, you are perceptive! My balloon IS different! Do you like it?
  • Hello all!

Whew! I hope I am not trying to do too much at once right now because I'm at the beginning of my diet all over again, but here it goes.

    21 DAY CHALLENGE~
    LEVEL 2

    WALK/RUN 1.5 MILES A DAY!!!

I feel I may be a little ambitious here, but I really want to push myself now and give myself a boost of confidence! It's nice to have that feeling of knowing if I put my mind to it, then I can achieve it!

I have 2 months before my family comes to see me and I really want to WOW them. So here we go!
