and I am doing more than I was. I guess I just want those "instant results" Poof! I'm on a consistant program. LOL. I have to remember to be nicer to myself so I don't get discouraged
Good job on the success you are having. And yes slow but steady is the best way to really keep a healthy lifestyle. Have a good weekend. Sunday is my SueVille toys for joy party & I'm focused on completing the decorating & getting the house cleaned & food ready. Guess that will keep me inmotion! LOL
Sounds like you're doing great too, Sue. I hate to sound old 'cause I certainly don't feel like I'm that mature but, at our age, I think slow and steady is the way to win this race and not to get hurt in the process.
Tell me about your Sueville party sometime.I bet it's loads of fun and I know you're getting a work out getting ready for it. Good luck.
For anyone who doesn't know about it yet. Go to the M&M's site and check out Sue's wonderful Christmas village, Sueville. It is great. It's on the About Us page under Sadie Ann.
Hello ladies~what a great group you have here. I have been lurking around the site for some time, but I just started posting a couple of weeks ago. I am restarting my journey and was looking for support. Do you mind if I join you?? Have to run my two youngest girls (3 and 2) are both crying at me.
Hi Upswife,
As far as I'm concerned, you're very welcome!
Like I said to Lynette about her grandbaby, it sounds as if you've got two ready made workouts in your life already.
17lbs! That's great!
I've just lost 8 so far but I agree, day by day.

Sande, sorry to confuse you with Doris.
Hi Upswife, we're midlifers here but of course you are welcome. I'm raising two of my grandchildren, ages 7 and 3 1/2.
SadieAnne, I'm glad to see you on this board. I hope everything is going good.
I tried exercising in a current pool tonight for the first time. It puts a new twist on aerobics. Oops, dh just walked in and I have started dinner. Gotta go.

Hello All - Cindy here - had to do a bit of searching but I found it! This is very nice and I like the price too! Sounds like everyone is doing well. Certainly is a busy time of year - too bad it centers around "food". You would think with all the additional running around we would all drop ten pounds just living

Hi Cindy, ten pounds huh--not a bad goal for Christmas.;-) Really this is the best time to be attempting to take control over food. Just think how good we'll feel while we are jostling through shoppers and decorating our houses, compared to those not a concerted effort. We'll be sailing through the shopping, parties and extra holiday preparations. While our counterparts will be experiencing blood sugar spikes and radical drops with all the goodies, accompanied with exhaustion and crabbiness.
Speaking of exhaustion I'm heading to bed. I've got a serious case of the good kind of exhaustion from putting this old bod through its paces today. I swear the endorphins are still talking.
Nighty-night,
Lynnette
Hi Cindy! Glad you found us.
I agree Lynette. I feel better about myself, I move differently, and I'm not as irritable. It constantly amazes me that I'm "feeling" such a difference with just 3 weeks of healthy eating. I'll tell you something else, I am more aware of how the splurges effect me also. I had some jelly beans. They aren't bad as far as calories and have no fat BUT all that sugar. I started feeling irritable and tired. I also started craving food and I haven't had a problem with that since changing my diet. So, the sugar has to be the culprit. Now, what to do with the rest of that huge bag of Jelly Belly's?! I think I've learned my lesson. ~Sande

A current pool is...
Sande, a current pool is a small pool that has water flowing through it at a controlled speed (pressure). If you float in it the pressure will carry you to one end of the pool. If you swim in it, you don't go anywhere--stationary swimming. You have to work against the water pressure just to stand in one spot. Think of it as extreme resistance training. Boy, my legs are feeling it today!
Lynette, you can get something like that for your home. I actually sent for the video but, since we are surrounded by trees and have a tendency to dampness and mold anyway, my husband suggested that I wait until one day when we may build another house "in the sunshine." It's good to know that they do work. How difficult would it be for someone like me who is not a great swimmer? ~Sande
