Happy-we are getting wet. YIPEE!! one street has flooded out--Police officer said the water is up to the doors on the houses. That street is in a low area. We so need the rain. In fact, we unloaded a chemical truck this morning in the pouring rain. I got drenched. It's so needed here.

Madcat--I'm with you on the portions and eating healthy food and I'm sticking to the new food pyramid. I'm also adding Benefiber. Exercise is a must. I'm a grazer so I'm trying to eat healthy every 2 hours. So far, I have had 4 cups of water, 8 ounces each. This strategy is working so far.
I also like the Debates room with the throne. Wow.

Holly,Morelli,Tig, Jennifer,and Shad-- hello

I feel like I'm getting back into myself again. The past few day's I've really been depressed. Mother used to have SAD and I'm wondering if that's my case. However, the rain, of all things, seem to have washed it away. I'm missing the cold weather for this time of year.

Painterwoman--I stayed up late and slept late this past week end. These past two work days have been hard on me trying to get back into my regular time frame for work.

Time to get back to what I'm being paid to do, work!!!! Oh, last night as I was making my last plant check when I noticed a raging fire a couple of streets away. I came back into the building and called the firestation. He told me they were doing a controlled burn. What a relief that was! I wondered why they hadn't called for the standby electric person to go pull the meter.

happy2bme 01-10-2006 02:08 PM

Ceejay - drenched is an understatement! No rain for weeks on end and then it tries to make up for the deficit in 2 hours. I am soaked myself. Thank goodness for hand dryers in the ladies room. Didn't even matter that I had a giant umbrella and I have to walk across the office complex in another hour to a meeting in a different building. At least my hair will be soft :rain: :rain: :rain: :rain: :rain: :rain:

Shad 01-10-2006 04:49 PM

Wednesday - gym is done for the week. Yeeeehaaaa

At last I've done the 5x gym for the week. :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :cb: :cb: :cb: It's so nice to feel that it is in the bag for the week. Now on to the rest of my life this week.

Haven't heard from DB2. Don't know whether that is good or bad. I'll have to ring him to find out. Maybe I should set an alarm on his phone. Ring your sister, ring your sister. Am I fussing?? Probably.

Yesterday was a great day as far as sanding went. I picked up a new sander - credit card will be in meltdown mode soon. Anyway it went like a little dream and the dining room ceiling is done and half of the kitchen. Today I will finish the kitchen so I can get this job out of my hair. That means that there is only the laundry ceiling and the 2 smaller bedrooms to do and that $#%# painter is out of my hair for good. How I hate that man and I don't even know his name. After the sanding comes the BIG cleanup. Imagine having half an inch of dust on just about everything not cover up and 1/2 inch on every plastic sheet that is covering everything up. And it gets everywhere. Anyway the big cleanup is planned for the next couple of days. One bit at a time.

Hiya linus - good to hear you so much more relaxed and happy.

Morrili - good to hear that you had a workout and didn't go overboard. Food journals are great - just so long as you remember to write down everything BEFORE you put it in your mouth. Try writing the calories beside the item as well. That certainly makes you think before you eat!

Meadow - I didn't make any jelly. I opened a bottle of wine instead and had a glass or two. Rather nice it was as well. The sander will be given a good sendoff, once I have taken it apart and rescued some bits from it. Mind you this is the same sander, later version. I'll bet they have changed the bits so I can't recycle!

Jennifer - I can relate to the builder and painter saga. The painter I got didn't understand sandpaper. Very little got sanded down. Nothing got sealed. Paint got watered down, bits got missed and he didn't understand dust sheets or paint protectors either. PIA that man.

Mel - I must be missing something. What are they testing you for now? What are they trying everything on - rosacea? pain? MD, brain? - omg are you pregnant?

Madcat - yes the sander saga is funny. I began to see the funny side as I was writing and cursing etc. The thing is about 5 years old. It is well used. It is probably well past its use-by-date for obsolesence (? sp) so it will go to a well earned retirement in the recycle bin when I have pulled it apart.
Like the venue for the wedding - you mean you are not getting married in that castle on the hill in Toronto? A debating chamber sounds a great place for a wedding and the throne means that you get to sit down and people come to you to bow and scrape.

Painter - you must be posting in the wee early hours as I sometimes see your egg lit when I am about to go to bed and come in to turn the computer off. Get some rest woman.

Happy - we're predicted storms as well so we will have to weather them together - I'll bet the DH freaked about the smoking. I'll pass the site along to whoever asked on the 21 day thread. I might even go put in the time since I stopped smoking and see what I have missed out on.

Holly - good to hear you are doing well the Avon way.

Ceejay - rain!!!! :rain: We should be getting some any minute now as well.

Okay - breakfast calls, clear that away, then back to the ceiling. It'll be finished today.... It'll be finished today.

hellokittyfan 01-10-2006 05:27 PM

Hey!

Hi everyone,

Shad - way to go with the gym.

I definitely will write down the calories too. I even had a snack today of sneamed brocolli - yummy! LOL!

I plan to work out the rest of the week, too. Still taking it easy, though. Don't want to overdue it!!

I've definitely drank my share of water today too. I feel like I'm going to float away!!

Have a good night!

Lisa :carrot:

Tig 01-10-2006 08:19 PM

Madcat ~ I finally got around to checking out the planned wedding site. I love it! Of course, you'll wear socks and slide across the room at the end of the ceremony. :D

Madcat 01-10-2006 09:06 PM

:lol3: :lol3: :lol3: Do I have to do it with dark sunglasses to the tune of "Old Time Rock & Roll"???

happy2bme 01-11-2006 07:53 AM

Mornin' chickies,
Must be the new year. Lots of new energy, lots of new posters. We have slid to page 2. *Hand over hand, pull, pull, pull to our rightful place*.

Shad, you should know by now that the DB does not possess logic or reasoning. Long term goals don't hold a candle to the thrill of immediate gratification. I should know, I struggle with this every day in certain aspects of my life. Help where you can, be supportive but try not to get too frustrated. And just who is this painter you speak of? I can't imagine you being quiet about someone who does not fully do the job properly?

Morelli did you change your screen name? Is this a test to see if we are alert?

Fell asleep to the strains of "Old Time Rock and Roll" in my head, woke up to the same, will stay with me all day no doubt. Thanks for putting that in my head. What a way to make an entrance tho. *slide...schumpft... oops as she knocks the guests down *

Mel, hope you are doing well at the docs and doing more than just cooling your heels in the various waiting rooms. So frustrating trying to find someone who can actually help you :grouphug:

I thought of Linus as I "swabbed my own decks" last night. I couldn't stand the spots on the kitchen floor last night so at 11:30 before I went to bed I mopped the kitchen. Smelled nice when I woke up this morning. I've been trying to get a few things accomplished each night when I get home, had to compromise time on the PC instead. All dinners are cooked for the balance of the week - tree will come down tonight unless DH decides to take the ornaments down this afternoon. (Ornament boxes magically appeared this morning by the tree after he suggested it yesterday).

I'm still doing well with food. Exercise has been forsaken for attacking the to do list in the evening. No reason I can't squeeze 30 minutes in. 1, 2, 3 everyone wag their finger at me. :o Little low on water the last 2 days too. I will do better today.

With that she jumps in the nice warm shower, ahhhhhh and gets on with the day. Have a good one chickies of the world.

Changed my username

Hi guys,

This is still morrili. I wanted to change my username.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Take care.

Meadow 01-11-2006 11:50 AM

I've done 4 miles.

Chocolate covered dried fruit and a Mars bar, hmm, energy in/energy out in balance? No, I didn't think so either :shame:

Innocent looking aren't they...

MELODY525 01-11-2006 11:55 AM

a quick update

Today's dr found me in the waiting room and he sent me home early. Good thing he needed another caffeine fix.
He says he will see me tomorrow at Immunology and asked if he could be present on Friday's consult with the Infectious Disease Clinic. They have offered to take a quick look at me also even though it's not really their "job".
The problem is that I have a bacteria(of my own making) that is growing too much and has become "systemic". It got into the bloodstream and went to all organs etc. It originates from over use of antibiotics and inflammatories
.
I have been fighting this and seeking help since 1987 but there is no cure....just treatment. It involves much less than 5% of the women in this country so no one is rushing with research. Thus the drug watch from my Drs is important.

I can hear the collective sigh in 3fatchickdom going on right now! Another Peril of Meline!!
I cannot say this too shall pass as it won't but I am of good spirits and have 2 more appts to go. But this guy gave me a hug today as we parted near the cafeteria. NOT a good sign. :lol3: He looked saddened and frustrated. Wonder if he thought the same of me:?:
I will catch up with you over the weekend. Sorry for the venting but didn't know where else to go. The good news is that the Sonoma Diet book was waiting for me at my door when I got back and some happy e-mail. So all in all....not a bad day
Glad I see Lisa's post or I would have thought we lost her or at the least misplaced her! :carrot: Enjoy the new name!! :scooter:

happy2bme 01-11-2006 12:56 PM

Aw Mel, :grouphug: maybe we just need to give you a bleach bath or something. Geez how frustrating. You can get this from using inflammatories too? *as she looks at the bottle of her pills and wonders can I live WITH the knee and WITHOUT these pills?* I appreciate the warning since I am new to this world. Just goes to show you, don't take pills unless you absolutely, positively need them. I hope there is some relief in sight for you. I have the Sonoma book too so if you want to compare notes...

Meadow -- ** gentle nudge away from the chocolate bits ** did a 4 miler and then blew some of the calories on a Mars bar? I should talk. I tasted a truffle for the first time in my life yesterday. Oh my. It was wonderful. And after I ate one I immediately wanted another. Good thing there were only 2 in the box and the other one was quickly making it's way into DH's belly. I'm glad my niece didn't include any of that chocolate covered fruit in the gift bag, one box of truffles did enough damage  I'll bet those tasted absolutely HORRID, didn't they?

Here I sit with my lunch of chicken salad sandwich on 7 grain bread - made with light mayo. Cherry tomatoes and baby carrot sticks. The SunChips multigrain chips in the vending machine are calling my name. HELP!!!!

Ok, I think I'll powerwalk past that vending machine and go do a lap around the pond outside. :dancer:

hellokittyfan 01-11-2006 02:40 PM

Hello again, hello!

Hi everyone,

Melody - just wanted to give you a hug

I too have alot of health problems and I totally can relate to what you are going through. Hang in there and keep your spirits up!!!!!

I'm trying to keep in good spirits today, although it's rainy and crappy outside.

;)

Lisa

ceejay52 01-11-2006 03:00 PM

It's a ho hum day here at work.

Happy-- love reading your entries.

HelloKitty--i thought we had a new friend. My cousin's daughter like HelloKitty products.

Mel--I hope they can do something for you.

Hello to the rest. More later, not sure when T and the guy that is working on the controls for well 6 will be back up here.

Shad 01-11-2006 03:23 PM

Morning all,

Lisa, you had me a little confused there with the change of name. I looked at it and thought another new one? Another Lisa, then decided that the address VA and everything were too similar. Had to be the same.

Mel - Okay, as long as what every they are doing is not going to upset the body and you will emerge from the other end in a reasonable frame of mind then that's okay by me. Sometimes in trying to make things better, they tend to make it worse. Let's just hope they turn up something for you. :hugs: my friend.
Maybe the Doc looked sad and frustrated because he had seen the cafeteria cleaning the coffee pot!!!

Meadow - tut tut! So now it is snowing chocolate fruit up your way!. Where do you live? The Big Rock Candy Mountain? But at least you walked.

Happy - yes I know those things - suitable chastened look - however I am not going to lose my own sanity over this. To retain sanity one must vent feelings and I will not wait until next Sunday (gambling anon place) to do this. However he did show up on the doorstep yesterday afternoon without my urging - he said he would do that Tuesday or Wednesday so all is not lost. I realise that I am not responsible for his actions and I don't profess to understand the psychological mumbo jumbo (sorry Painter) but it seems to have done something for the time being. Will it last. Probably not.
As for the truffle - were these the Belgian Chocolate Truffles? Well yes they are nice, but they are addictive too. So keep away from them unless you are giving yourself a real treat.
I am  at the thought of the DH being the good fairy with the tree. Such an interesting thought.

Well the sanding got finished. I now have a completely bare dining room and kitchen ceiling. I had to take it back to bare plasterboard since the original painter never sealed the plasterboard and only put on one coat of watered down white paint. It you went anywhere near it with a paint brush without sanding it off, the new paint bubbled and peeled and would not stick to the ceiling. After taking advice from a couple of paint companies I had a choice - new ceiling or sand the entire thing. I sanded. Sometimes I felt that I made the wrong decision, however there is insulation in the roof cavity and that would have had to be taken out and replaced as well should I have opted for the new ceiling. Sanding was definitely cheaper but not quicker. Still the horrible job is nearly complete and will become a distant memory 'eventually'. The watered down paint also meant that the ceiling cornices have a problem as well. You can't sand those, but you can get the paint off with a bucket of hot soapy water and some steel wool. That's the next lovely job I am faced with. A bit at a time, bit here, bit there.

And having said that - time to get moving along. Have a good day all worldly chicks - Teel have you got a bloke in there or something? Always so busy.

Oh meant to say that yesterday when I ventured out into the front yard, there is a gorgeous burgundy coloured orchid looking at me, and one of the other pots has buds as well. Thank you mother nature, just when I am feeling a bit blue, she comes up with another gem in the garden. Gotta love the old girl.

hellokittyfan 01-11-2006 04:40 PM

Hello!

Hi guys,

Yes, Shad it is me. Sorry for the confusion, just want to keep everyone on their toes!! LOL!

Yep, I love Hello Kitty and I just wanted a cute nickname. ;)

I hope all are well. It's raining and yucky where I am. I'm thinking happy thoughts, though! Heading home real soon!

Take care everyone!!!

Lisa :carrot:
