Good Morning, very cheerful and positive posts.
A late night for all here. Another family stopped by. DS fell asleep on the couch at 10:30, he was mad a heck this morning. DD and the little girl were up til 1:30 am. Party girls. It was a fun night. The husband is someone I have been wanting my hubby to meet. He is close in age, hard working, scruffy with a warm heart. Just like my guy. I would love for hubby to have a friend in town here. I woke at 8:30 and plan to nap this aft. Today I will plan my errands for the week. Rainbow needs to go to the vet. I will organize my Avon for the next campaign.I will enjoy the clean house. HUGS and WARM WISHES to everyone. |
Had a fun time last night – red hair and all.
Happy New Year Chickies!!!:carrot: :woo: :carrot:
Feeling tired today. Not really hung-over or anything (yes, I did practice moderation!), but that we didn't get home until 3 and then I had a cat demanding attention at 7:30, snoozed a bit after that but finally just got up. The only thing wrong with me is that my heel really hurts, probably caused by standing for most of the party. I'll nap later. TB, though, in rough shape today. Poor wee spud! This almost never happens so I am happy to cut him some slack (and poor water into him as required). Made it to the gym yesterday for a workout and I was totally spent afterwards. Ok, I am seriously out of shape. That's ok though. It will come back with some effort. Had a big long post written (with comments and everything) and then decided I could sum it all up by saying I think 2006 will be our year. So nice that Antonio could make an appearance. :T The motto for this year will be "Simplify, simplify, simplify". This means less guilt, more kindness to others and to myself, less physical and emotional clutter, more calm. Not to waste energy on things or people that really do not matter. And above all to laugh and find small joys everyday. Here's to 2006! And now I really need a coffee! :coffee2: See if I can rouse the sleepy head. |
Did someone say coffee??
'Cause if you did say coffee, here I am. Hi Ladies. It's me, Java Turtle. I thought I might invite myself in. I actually know most of you and I "feel" like I know the rest of you from lurking on this thread for months. I thought I might actually peek out of my shell and join you all. I hope that's okay. I'll try to keep brief as I do have a tendancy to talk too much (I'll try to save all that for my journal). Happy New Year to you all. Let's hope 2006 is THE year for each and every one of us.:goodluck:

Happy New Year Everybody!
Welcome back Java, great to see you back again. WOW, I just noticed your ticker. Way to go girl on the weight loss so far - that Jo-whuffing is really working for you :carrot: :carrot: You should be so proud! Madcat, I'm going to steal, uhm I mean borrow your resolution. That pretty much sums it up and is the key to a better balanced life. Funny about your post, I woke up this morning thinking, man - it's so nice not to wake up hung over - I don't think I can handle that anymore and the sad part is that it doesn't take much to get there either now. Take good care of TB. How did your hair turn out? Holly, enjoy that clean house - hope it stays that way. :crossed: Mel you wild woman. I'm sort of glad you can't get your pictures to work, otherwise we might be flooded with pictures of half naked firemen. Hmm, snow that turns to rain and washes away - isn't that the best kind? We had a brief snowfall on Christmas morning - only for about an hour, big and fluffy flakes and then it stopped. Just like someone above answering my wishes for a perfect Christmas morning. Get to that decluttering because when you do it, I get inspired and we can all use some help. Ceejay - sorry you had to work today. Hope the phones are at least quiet. toasting your diet Coke with a bottle of water here. Here's to a successful 2006 for all. Good morning Ruth - how's the weather up by you? Carla, hope that ticker doesn't move too much and that you still get to stay in onederland. Ah Meadow, how could we roll the new year in without AB? I see he's not into party hats  Shad, sounds like you had a good evening. Congrats on exercising self control. Are you melting yet? I am bound and determined to do better this year. Back to the Fly Lady routines to clean and declutter, less procrastinating over things I need to get done. I have already finished 3 loads of laundry, tidied up the downstairs and I'm working on laying out this diet plan from the doctor. Geez it is a total PAIN weighing, measuring and counting every single thing. I still have to sift through recipes - am using the 3FC reference for nutritional info and recipes. This is going to take the better part of a day and probably more than that. And even tho I am still quite stuffed up, I think I can pull off a slow walk on the treadmill and a few weights. So what did you do differently today? :chin: |

We had a pleasant turn of the year. Played Kerplunk and Whackamole with the kids for a couple of hours. We had some snacky bits, coca cola and the log crackling on the tv. Didn't watch any of the parties on tv, too odd. We did catch the fireworks and the rocket going up the space needle down in Seattle, that was cool. No resolutions for me other than to keep trying.:halffull: WELCOME Java! It is wonderful that you have chosen to become one of the worldly chicks and share this journey with us :carrot: Mel-ah, you need to create a photobucket.com account and then you can have an url for all your pictures, works great. So your first mood of this first day of the year is a silly one? Sounds promising, starting off with a smile :joker: Shad-how lovely that you partied and enjoyed it. The icecream sounded divine. How hot is it today? Stay away from the road ragers :yikes: We have rain, mud puddles and cold, I'll send it down to you in safety sealed bubbles so it will not get waylaid ;) :bubbles: Madcat-Mel is already on your wavelength ;) I like the idea of finding smiles in the little things too. Bound to make you a happier individual if you can smile at all the nonsense that swirls around. Happy-OMG! you are just an energizer bunny today! Treadmill!! and cleaning? Plus creating your new plan of attack on the calorie reduction mission....I'm feeling stressed for you :p Fill your canteen, this is going to require much hydration :bravo: Take it easy and remember you have twelve months ahead, so pace yourself. Holly-aren't you lovely to try and fix your hubby up with a friend. Can't imagine two drunk guys not getting along, but then I have a tainted view of fellas  Ceejay-are you doing alright? Is there anyone else working? Jeepers, is there an echo in the place. I'm toasting you with my coffee. I hope you don't get any irrate callers and it is all smooth sailing today for you :D Ruth-Happy first of January! BE happy, BE kind and BE YOU tiful! Carla-I really don't see the point of those tickers. I much prefer to have a graph with the little mountains right side up and upside down. I'm not much of a realist though so maybe it is just the numbers glaring at me that make me squishy. Hello world! |
It's 4.00 in the morning and once more the dawning..........
I'm up early because I am tired of trying to do things through this heat and today is supposed to be 37C. Sydney copped 44C yesterday and fires broke out in several parts of NSW State. 5 families lost their homes, poor souls. So today will be a good day to stay inside and take a siesta. I'm off out to weed and water before the sun gets up this morning.
Welcome to 'DA TURTLE', come in and plonk your shell by the pool edge. We'll go and get your rooms ready for you in a minute. Nice to have you on the Good Friends ship. It's okay if you waffle occaisonally. There is a lot of us whose posts can get long from time to time and it is important to get things off your chest. You are bound to get an opinion on anything and everything around here even if it is what you don't want to hear! However that is because we care, not because we are trying to upset anyone. So chat away. Someone will tell you if there are too many turtle chirps! Happy, I hear you on the Flylady routines. 15 minutes here and there. It really is amazing what one can achieve using that methodology. Glad to hear that the cold is shifting somewhat and that you are contemplating exercise again. Practice the Flylady routine there too. No more than 15 minutes on anyone gadget and no more than 1 hour overall. Results will come. I'm thinking I could pinch Madcat's new mantra as well. Not exactly melting as yet but it's awfully warm here. The BOM are predicting storms for the next couple of days so maybe that will cool us down a bit. Mind you they aren't right all that often so maybe not. Madcat - read the above for the advice given to Happy on moderation in the gym. It really is annoying when you know what you are capable of but can't practice because of being out of shape. But if you don't start back slowly, one of two things happen. a: you injure yourself and you are out for longer and b: it hurts so much you don't want to do it again. Glad to hear you practiced moderation over New Year as well. Holly - sounds like a good night was had by all. Late nights for the kids - aaah yes I remember those. Mel - when you save the picture, trying using a right mouse click on the picture and use Save picture as.... It should then save in the same format as the picture. However it might come out as BIG when you open it, so you will have to resize it to put it in the thread. Next lesson is on resizing. Everytime I think of something for you to do like this, I have to stop and workout whether you might have a program to do the said thing on your machine. If you soaked yourself in brandy - don't whatever you do roll in the sugar. You may become a Caramel and that will never do. Ceejay - positive attitude about going to work. I've got a bottle of water (instead of the usual coffee - What????!!!!) Here's to you. Coke is coming out with a thing called Zero. Db2 in one of his lighter moments gave me a bottle or two to try. It's not on the market yet out here. It is completely sugar free, tastes better (IMHO) than diet coke and seems to have that sharp taste that Coke used to have. It's Cokes answer to Pepsi Max as I understand. I still won't be drinking a lot of coke!!!!! Good luck on the weigh in and measurements. As you saw from my last post last year, the measurements are far more inspiring than the scale. Ruth - Good morning. Happy New Year to you. Hope this one is better than the last for you. It's interesting you know - our little thread has TWO moderators popping in and out - do we need checking up on? Plus no doubt Suzanne 3FC is watching over us from a distance. Eyes right, salute! Aaah well it is all good fun, isn't it! Carla - Welcome to the new year. Hope it all went smoothly for you and that those resolutions are all slotting nicely into place. Meadow - are you awash with so much coffee now? Did you really stay awake for all that celebrating around the globe. Good morning PW, Rose, Tig, Linus, Teel, Raven, Linda, Lisa and Honey-dipped.  Right the day is here so its on with the working clothes and out there and at 'em. Weeds prepare to meet thy doom. Not much else to report - here's a round up of the year so far. DB2 is hiding out in his cabin in the woods. Mind you he has no money to do much else! DS2 is having G/f problems and will be round later for his  no doubt. Pity because I thought this one was quite nice and good for him. How things change rapidly in that world. DB1 is no doubt doing something in his world and all is okay with him since I haven't heard from him. DSis is in fine form and planning to come over for October this year (DB2's 50th). DB2 will be shaking in his boots to have both sisters in the same town. DS1 tells me he spent the New Year winning money off his G/F sisters playing some game or other. I've refrained from comment - I'm sure the sisters have plenty of their own. He will not be the 'nice boy' if he keeps that up. ExDH is going to Melbourne to watch the Australian Open Tennis later this month. As per normal getting the tickets, preparing for travel, sorting out what to do is as big an organisational event as the bl**dy CORONATION of QE11. The two DS's are planning to go to Melbourne to visit. They reckon it might be easier than him planning to visit them. I am expected to provide commentary on the planning, sort out where else he should go (I don't think that is in Melbourne, Shaddie), how he should get there and how much it will cost. Life is sweet. And apart from a trip to the gym around 8.00am this morning, I'm not planning on going anywhere. It's a public holiday. Don't think the shops will be open and I have to watch the pennies anyway. Also, if I don't get off here, I'm going to lose the no heat advantage out in the garden. Later 'gator. |
Hello Miss Turtle!!
:wel3fc: :welcome2: :welcome: :welcome3: :wel3fc: :welcome2: :welcome: :welcome3:

Good heavens - 37C and 44C? Take care that our little duck does not get herself roasted :faint: DH's back was bothering him on the trip and I picked up these one time use instant cold packs. Something about mixing water and some sort of crystals and glory be - instant COLD in a bag! :hyper: will have to send you a care package. Stay cool Shaddie. |
