Yes my weigh in day is every Tuesday. I figured Mondays were bad enough without adding my weight into the mix. Therefore I settled for Tuesday.
My day starts at 5:00am so that I can do my am workout. Let me tell you it wasn't easy at first but I'm kinda getting used to it now. Didn't get a chance to do my evening workout last night, but I did run around outside with my daughter. It was a blast. My husband just bought here one of those motorized jeeps. I will definitly get my second workout in tonight. I just got a new salsa dancing workout, so I might mix it up a bit and try that one. I'll have to see how long it is. Its kinda hard to work out with a 2 year at your feet. Talk to you later. Leec |
Well I should normally be at work right now but I had an employee call in sick so I had to split my shift and I go back at 5:00pm. It sucks making two trips to work and back in one day w/ gas prices and all. Oh well now that I am home I will do my 2-mile watp and get some laundry and cleaning done. Did you do salsa last night? I have a dance tape but I didn't like it much because it is too involved w/ too many steps to learn. I love the simplicity of watp. Although dancing is great for you (look at Kirstie Alley).
MJ |
No I didn't salsa. The tape is almost 50 minutes long and there is no way that my 2 year old could sit there for that long. So instead I did my normal 2 mile WATP. It's funny because she's now watched it so many times that she even knows when its almost over. She has become my little cheer leader. When I done do my work out she claps and say " YEAH MOMMMY". It makes me feel really good.
That sucks that you have to drive back and forth to work. But atleast you are to get a few things accomplished before you have to go back. Sounds like its going to be a very long day for you. Hang in there. Leec |
That is so cute that your daughter cheers you on. And what a great healthy role model for her. Well I did my 3-mile watp yesterday, hopefully can get the same in today. Well have a great day I have to leave for work.
MJ |
Oh I had a bad day yesterday (foodwise that is). I was like a bottomless pit when I got home from work. Friends stopped by and my husband, who had worked late, ordered pizza (of course I had already eaten my dinner of a frozen WW meal and a few other things) so I wasn't going to eat any but I did, I had like 3 peices. Pizza is a huge weakness for me. Oh yeah I had a couple of mixed drinks too, I use diet cola but I mix it w/ Captain Morgan and I guess that has a high sugar content (no wonder I like it). I got off to a better start today though, I walked 3 miles outdoors w/ a friend at 6:45AM (I meet her a couple of times a week after she gets off of a 3rd shift job to walk). She walks a little slow for me, I have sped her up a little though. Today we did the 3 miles in 1 hour, not too bad I guess. Food was better today too, but we are having guests again tonight for a fish fry, I am going to try and eat very little. And hopefully get a watp tape in too. Hope everything is going fine w/ you two.

Happy Monday MJ and Miki
Hope you both had a great weekend. Just checking in to say Hi! Leec |
Hi girls,
Well I didn't weigh in yesterday AM. I had an out of town meeting I had to leave early for and by the time I got home I couldn't bring myself to do it. I never skip a week but I'm going to skip this week and w/i next Monday. Otherwise I have been trying to fit excercise in daily. How did everyone else do w/ their weigh ins??? More later,MJ |
Hi MJ,
Sounds like you've been busy, busy, busy. My weigh in was this morning. I was rather excited. Down 2 more pounds for a total of 20. Also lost 35 inch in my chest, 1 inch in my waist, 1.25 inches in my hips and 1.5 inches in my thighs. Feeling pretty good today. Talk to you soon. Leec |
Opps!
That should say .5 in my chest not 35. Leec |
Hello chicks! :)
Leec, glad to have someone else posting with us! Welcome. I hate that I cant get online more than I do. I'm sure MJ is thrilled to finally have someone else in here also. I hate to admit it but I am out of control again. I cannot seem to get on track and stay there. Work is driving me crazy. I cant seem to eat right when I'm stressed. I actually sat down at the computer to try to type a letter to my boss asking for a raise. Recently, for over a month, I worked 50 hrs a week, sometimes more. I had just started a new position myself but had to do that plus another's while she was on maternity leave. (she had the baby earlier than expected so I didnt have time to train...just had to "wing" it.) It was exhausting. I was told somewhere around the middle of Feb that once he looked over the budget at the end of the quarter (March), he'd adjust my salary. Well, here it is May already and not another mention of more money. Patience is one thing...being taken advantage of is another. Sorry but had to vent a minute lol. Anyway, there is no point in weighing this week because I know without a doubt that I have gained and I cant bear to see how much. I get depressed about my weight, then I go eat. Then I"m depressed because I ate! Crazy huh?:dizzy: Ya'll just bear with me and keep coming here to post. I promise sooner or later, I"ll get on track and stay there and ya'll can help me do that with your inspiring posts. Well, better get to work on that letter. Wish me luck! Miki |
Leec, Congrats on the 2 lbs. that is awesome. I wish I could have said the same. I'm trying real hard to be on track this week so I can be successful on Monday. I'm doing a new WATP called "the walkdiet", it has a 1 and 2 mile on it that you can combine for a 3 mile if you want. It doesn't utilize any weights or bands but it seems to be a little more cardio than the others I have, I like it. Be sure to let me know if you discover any good tapes I may not know about.
Miki, Glad to hear from you. Sorry work is going so badly. I have been reading Dr. Phil's weight loss book and he has a questionaire in there and one of the questions is "Would you being willing to quit your job in order to attain your weight loss goals". I know, I know not possible for most people but I have definately had jobs in the past that I have felt made it nearly impossible to lose weight. Sounds like that is what you have right now. If you get more $$ that will be great but still won't alleviate the 50 hours a week (which is insane by the way). I hope things improve for you. Good luck this week and try to make some time for yourself. MJ |
Hello :)
Actually had a free minute again so thought I'd check in. Both kids had plans tonight so Phil and I are going to pile up on the couch to watch a movie shortly. It's rainy outside so it's a perfect time for that. Emjay, work is actually getting some better. For two weeks now, I have taken an hr lunch break everyday plus left by 5:30 each day. Big improvement plus the other girl is back from her maternity leave now which helps a whole lot. I gave my boss the letter Friday. He stopped by my office that afternoon and said, "Just wanted to let you know I"m working on it." We'll see exactly what that means soon I hope. Fast food is the biggest problem I've had I think. I was too tired to cook at night or if I did get off early, I wouldnt want to do it when I finally had free time so we ate out alot or I picked it up and brought it home. Not healthy at all. Going to try to get organized this weekend and shop for groceries for meals I'm going to try to plan for ahead of time. Making out menus for the week helps me. Hope you girls have a good weekend. I'll be back when I can. Miki |
Miki, I'm glad things are going better at work. I know what you mean w/ the fast food. I have had a hard time being prepared enough to have good food in the house but am trying to get better at that. The hair salon I work at is located inside of a Walmart so once I get done working I haven't felt like going grocery shopping, even though I am right there. But on the up side we just got a Subway restaurant inside of the Walmart also, healthy convenient food, very exciting.
I came down w/ the flu/cold a few days ago and am now just starting to not feel totally miserable. Therefore I haven't excercised in a few days, very frustrating. Hopefully all goes well on the scale tomorrow AM. And hopefully I feel well enough to resume excercise again. Leec, Hope things are going great for you. Talk to you soon. MJ |
Hi girls,
I am down 3 lbs. this morning. I was so happy because since I have been sick I thought I would have gained. But this gives me renewed motivation. Gotta go now so I can workout. Hope to hear from both of you soon. MJ |
I'm new here but just wanted to pop in and say Hi! I am trying to keep track of flex points but eating the south beach/sugar buster way - making my carbs count for something instead of the white things. I heard once "no white at night"! Hope you have a nice day and maybe I can join you on the accountability track. What type of eating plan are you girls following? Thanks. Have a great day! I'm anxious to lose weight with you!
|
HI girls,
I'm doing pretty good this week. No loss this morning but that's okay. Hubby and I went on a managers weekend retreat with his company so I didn't exactly stay on plan. I did however have a fantastic weekend. I guess its worth it. At least I didn't gain. MJ-Congrats on the 3 lbs lost.:carrot: :carrot: Hope you get to feeling better. Miki-Good for you for giving you boss the letter. I hope only good comes of it. Hope you also enjoyed movie night. Cheeky Chick-Welcome. By all means join us! I personally am counting calories and exercising. Have a great day. Talk to you soon Leec |
cheeky chick, Welcome! We are always looking for more chatters, please join us. I notice we have the same goal weight, we can work together toward it. I kind of follow WW winning points but mostly I just use it as a guideline. And I do Walk away the pounds (dvd's that I love) and walk outside. I have kind of been interested in S. Beach but never tried it would love to hear more about how it is doing for you...
Leec, Congrats on maintaining. That is nice that you had a fun weekend, it's good to get away w/o worrying about food and excercise the whole time you are gone. Keep up the good work. Talk to everyone soon. |
Good morning ladies! Hope your day is going well so far. My week has been going well since I have cut out almost all white stuff and have been eating healthier and whole wheat/low carb items. I have also been exercising at the Y on an ARC trainer for 20-30 minutes 4 days so far this week. Does anyone have any recipies for low point dessert ideas - I've been snacking on ff sf pudding - the cook and serve kind - cause it tastes like homemade. I like frozen blueberries. I love dried dates but have to be careful cause I know they have lots of sugar. I'm trying to watch the sugar intake so any tips would be much appreciated. Hope you day goes well and am eager to get any diet insights you may have that have helped you. I also journal my food, do you?
|
Good Morning Ladies,
I'm doing pretty good this week. It's been pretty quiet at work as I am between projects. It's actually pretty nice. Cheeky Chick-Glad to hear you're doing well. Sounds like the exercise is going good. Keep up the good work. A few things I like for dessert are fresh fruit, jello, lf sf pudding, weight watchers makes some really good icecream bars and another idea is to take a mini chocolate rice cake and put a thin layer of peanut butter on top and microwave for a few seconds. Its yummy, tastes like a recese's peanut butter cup. Just a few ideas I can think of right now. Miki or MJ if you guys have any other foods ideas or recipes, I would love to hear about them. I'm always looking for new ideas so that I don't get bored eating the same thing all the time. Have a great day! Leec |
I just got this little XBox this past week!! I love it - my personalized license plates say "bxy ldy" - boxy lady - that's me! Ha! My hubby is going to look funny driving this around.
Yum, that recess idea sounds great. I'll have to try it!! Thanks so much. Have you tried Pudge Brownie Mix? It comes in 4 flavors. I take 2 T. of the dry mix and mix with 1 T. ff yogurt and microwave for 30 seconds. Top with sf & ff cool whip. It's to die for. It is warm and gooey and is 1 point. To make myself not want more than one and in order for me not to just scarf this down, I have a cup of hot tea or coffee to go with it and I sit down and enjoy every bite - my kids know not to talk to mom when she is having this dessert! Ha! It took me years to get into an exercise routine because I thought I had to sit an hour aside to do it- not! 20 minutes is better than none at all so now I try to squeeze that in 4 times a week at the minimum. I've lost 34 lbs and want so bad to be in "one-derland" soon!! I've been battling the same 10 lbs for a couple of months now yo-yoing!! Ugh! Hopefully, you guys will kick me in the pants and get me going! :) Have a blessed day! |
I get these at Walmart and they are a lifesaver for me during that TOM: Baskin Robbins Sugar-free Mint Chocolate Chip hard candies. I think they make a fruity flavor one also. I love twizzlers - the pull n peel kind - wish I could find a similar substitute. Any ideas? Any hard candy you like?
|
cheeky chick, Cute car! Who makes the xbox??? I don't have many lowfat snack ideas as I have been eating what I want but in moderation. I'm trying not to be on a diet too much this time I want to find a solution for lifelong weight loss. Good luck huh? But Leec's choc rice cakes w/ peanut butter sound really good I think I will try that ( I love peanut butter cups). Good for you w/ the excercise, definately 10 minutes a few times a day is better than nothing. Keep up the good work on weight loss, you have come a long way.
Leec and Miki, Hope you guys are having a great week. I am hanging in there, unfortunately haven't been real motivated to excercise because of this pesky cold that keeps hanging on. Talk to you all later. MJ |
emjay - Scion (Toyota) makes the xb car that I got. I love it and I love the gas mileage - much better than my Durango. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I, too, am trying to eat like I will the rest of my life instead of considering this a diet. I have tried in the past not to do a food journal but it doesn't work for me - I am more accountable if I write it down. If I bite it - I write it. :) I use a steno pad and on the right side I write down my thoughts - how I handle stress and times when I get home from work and I'm famished, etc. It helps to look back at this and see what I did and some easy low-point snacks that carried me through. Just like an alcoholic is addicted to alcohol so I am addicted to food and I know this so I have to battle it daily. I want to be healthy. :p Changing the subject, I read that you have a pug dog - that is so neat! What's his/her name? We love animals also - we have a dog, 2 cats, 1 goat, 1 pony and jillions of fish & whatever else comes our way during the summer which we keep for a few weeks and then let go - turtles, reptiles, etc. I need a bumper sticker that says "I brake for turtles!"
|
Cheeky Chick I love the concept if you bite it you write it. Currently I use Fitday to log all my calories but I think that maybe I will start a paper journel just to keep track of my feelings.
I am with you guys on the whole diet word. When I started this almost 13weeks ago I told myself that I'm not on a diet, I am just learning how to take care of myself. I like food way to much to be on a diet anyways. haha. Hope Everyone has a great weekend. It's cold and rainy her in MI so not a lot planned for the weekend. Talk to you later. Leec |
Well it is Monday AM and that means one thing - weigh in. It wasn't a positive experience today, I am up 3 lbs. I seem to be having a fight w/ these same 3 lbs. lately. I can, however, look back this week and see my errors. So I will do better this week. I'm feeling better and have a plan to get out and walk w/ a friend this week, should help a lot.
cheeky chick, I do have a pug. She is the greatest little dog. Her name is Libby and I rescued her about 2 years ago. She and I were supposed to go to a pug picnic this past weekend but as Leec said it has been cold and raining in MI so we did not go. (Leec, the picnic was in Clawson...too far to drive for crappy weather) What kind of dog do you have? Leec, I love food too much to diet too, I'm just learning how to control my behaviors. I'm kind of in a slump right now but I will get out of it. I wish the weather would clear up. Hope you have good luck on the scale today. Miki, Hope everything is well with you. MJ |
We just have a mutt but she is adorable - her name is Missy. Pets are so much fun, aren't they?
|
Hey girls! Anyone else do this - I do good Mon-Thur and then seem to blow it on the weekends and it is so frustrating cause I try really hard during the week so I don't know why I do this to myself. I did order some Fit n Free pizza off the internet - it isn't too bad and it is only 3 points! I top it with tons of veges (peppers, tomatoes, artichokes, red onion, garlic) that I stir fry in some Pam while the pizza is cooking and then top the pizza with those. It is yummy - hopefully a cure for pizza addition on the weekends.
I read this week also about the Wendie plan regarding Weight Watcher points. You alternate the point value each day tricking your body into not getting use to the same amount of food intake each day regarding points/calories. They say this can help you get off a plateau. I'll let you know how it works if I start losing weight again!! I'm curious to see also if my chlosterol goes up when I get my blood work done on the 26th. We raise chickens and I've been eating eggs every day - they satisfy my hunger on my salad at lunchtime & I eat them alot for breakfast. From experience, has anyone seen their chlosterol levels go up because of these? I'm excited - I've just completed my 16th week of exercising 4 days a week on a consistent basis!!!! This has always been a challenge for me cause I have 2 bad knees. Thanks for listening to me rattle on. Pass on any advice you have or recipes!!! Have a good day girls! |
Cheeky chick,
I do find that I do better during the week and mess up more on the weekend. My husband and I are more apt to eat out on the weekends and I am more apt to drink socially then too (which is real bad I know). My cholesterol always goes down when I lose a considerable amt. of weight and I eat eggs fairly frequently. I am on a Kashi cereal kick right now but in the past when I lost 70 lbs. I probably ate eggs 3 - 4 times per week. A trick I use w/ eggs is if I'm eating them scrambled or in an omelet I only use 1 whole egg and the rest egg whites. If my info is correct the fat and cholesterol is only in the yellows. Occassionally I will eat an egg white omelet. Never tried the pizza you mentioned but I love pizza and usually splurge on it once every 1 or 2 weeks. It is a real "red light" food for me so I try to eat it infrequently. I usually go right for the good stuff too (pizza hut). Congratulations on the excercising, you are doing a real good job. I walked 3 miles outside yesterday and today and will also do so tomorrow. I need to make it a bigger habit again and not so off and on. Well talk to you later. "HI" to everyone else too. MJ |
hey all
Hello everyone I'm back for now I had a hard time getting this web site to work for me ,hope I can keep it working , well it's going to take me a while to catch back up on everybody but I'm doing ok I have been fighting with my self to stay on track and been kinda slacking but I'm trying to get stright today is my wi and hope it's good ,well hope everyone is doing ok ,so for now I'll go and do some reading talk at ya all later, hope I can get my tracker to work:)
|
just checking
I'm trying to get my tracker to work:?:
|
Good day ladies! I had pizza hut last night so hopefully I've gotten my pizza fix out of the way for the week instead of having it on Fridays. I like to weigh in on Tuesdays and this a way I'll have that "fix" over with way before hand. I had strawberries this morning from the Amish, they were so yummy. I also did the ARC trainer for 30 min this morning and burned 412 calories during that time. Yippee!! I have been keeping my journal faithfully, even when I overeat, so I can see a pattern on weight loss/gain and my feelings at the time. Day by day, step by step is the way, right? Hope you are having a good day - health wise and food wise too! Keep in touch.
|
Hoosierlady, Welcome back. Well if you are struggling it is glad that you found your way back to us, we can help hopefully. I feel like I have been struggling to stay on track as well, it is a challenge everyday. I a lot of days I have been losing the fight.
Cheeky chick, I bet the pizza hut was delicious. I think you are right eating it in the middle of the week is better, gives you more time to repent. Weekends have been a problem for me lately so I am making an effort this weekend to stay on track. Wish me luck! I'd love to lose another 10 to 20 lbs. b4 summer is in full swing. Anybody up for some friendly competition? Something like a weightloss contest for another 10 lbs.? Let me know! MJ |
Happy Friday Ladies,
It's been a really crazy week for me. Lots of commotion at work to deal with. I've done so so this week as far as eating. One of my coworkers/friends has left the company after 8 years. So needless to say there were 2 lunch outings and a huge potluck yesterday. I tried my best to stay under control, but its hard. Also didn't get in as much exercise as I would like so I'll need to step it up a notch. Cheeky, glad you enjoyed your pizza. I too had pizza on Wednesday and oh was it delicious. I was good though. I only had two small pieces. It's funny though my 2 year old ate 5 pieces. On some days she eats more than I do. Which is good because usually she eats like a bird and just picks over her food. MJ, I am totally up for a little competition. It sounds like everyone could use a little challenge to pick up the pace. Any ideas? Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I just wish it would stop raining so that I could do something fun outside. |
Leec,
I was thinking maybe we could start our competition on Monday and each week set a new goal. For example, drink 8 glasses of water per day, excercise 5 out of 7 days, add a new excercise, eat a fruit and veggie everyday, etc. And at the end of 4 weeks see who lost the most and also see if we formed any new habits. I know you probably won't see this till Monday AM so how about if we start w/ the water goal and the following Monday we can add a new goal??? Hopefully everyone else will join us... It finally stopped raining here but is supposed to resume Saturday night, yuck. MJ |
Hi all! Welcome Cheeky chick! :)
Sorry I havent been in here in so long. I really am going to somehow find time to get here more. Well, I'm still not on track at all. Actually I gave up and went to the doctor today and asked for some prescription weightloss pills. I've never used pills before. I've always believed that only diet and exercise was the healthy way to go. BUT I got so discouraged about gaining that I just ate more and have been out of control. I'm hoping this will give me a jumpstart back into a healthier routine. Being overweight cant be any worse than taking these pills for a month. I dont plan on staying on them long. I just want to see the scale budge so I can get in a better frame of mind. For me, it has always been more a mindset thing than a diet thing. Sounds like the rest of you are doing well. I've missed you all!! MJ, your competition sounds like a good idea. I've got to take time to get all caught up on reading the posts, but I noticed that one. What's this week's competition? Well, better run for now. Take care all! Miki |
Hi ladies,
Just checking to see how everyone is doing. MJ-How are you doing with you water intake this week? So far for me I have been drinking about 70oz. of water a day. Well actually 16oz of it is sometimes Crystal Light. I make them in an individual water bottle and then pop them in the freezer for a couple of hours. It turns slushy and that's what I usually have for dessert. Miki-So glad to see your back. We all hope to hear from you more often as well. Somehow, someway I know you'll get back on track. Maybe the prescription from you Dr. will help to give you a kick start. Good luck to you. CheekyChick and Hosierlady-How are you guys doing? Are you still hanging in there with us? Have a great evening everyone. Talk to you soon. |
Leec, I have been shooting for 64 oz. per day and coming real close. Does crystal light count for water intake, I'm trying to remember what the WW rule was, I think it does. I have been drinking that too, the pink lemonade. Which one do you like? Well I lost 2 lbs. when I weighed in Monday, thank goodness I didn't gain again. I walked 3 miles outdoors w/ a friend today, 72 degrees and humid made it difficult at 3 in the afternoon. I got the cardio workout tape from McDonalds the other day when I ordered a salad, I might try it tonight or tomorrow. Have you ever tried those? Well off to drink more water.
Miki, Glad you are back. Which pill did you doc prescribe? Just curious. We are doing water intake this week in the contest. CC and HL, Hope you are doing well. MJ |
Two days posting in a row! Wow lol:D
The doctor prescribed Addipex (sp?) for both me and my husband. We started taking it today. She said she would only prescribe it if we were doing this together as a couple and we have to check back with her in 30 days. Normally she doesnt prescribe anything unless you first try a diet plan for 2-3 months. Because she knows me and knew that dh and I both have already lost 60 lbs each just eating right and exercise, she understood the discouragment we're going through right now since we've both gained almost 40 of what we lost. This is strictly to jumpstart the weightloss to motivate us to get BACK ON TRACK! I really hope it works. I know my whole mood and attitude is awful right now because I feel so bad about myself and the way I look and feel. I'm really excited to be doing something aggressive to get my butt back into shape.:carrot: I'll check in as much as I can to give updates on our progess. That pic of us is back when we had lost before. We definitely do NOT look like that now and it's sickening to realize we've slowly but surely gained the weight back. Both of us started drinking more water today so that's pretty cool that ya'll are doing that this week also. Well hope everyone has a good rest of the week! Keep up the good work. Miki |
Hi Ladies,
Just wanted to pop in and say Have a Great Weekend. I have a 4 day weekend!:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: Plus the weather is supposed to be great. Hang in there everyone. I'll check in next week when I get back |
Hi everyone,
I did horrible on my h2o intake yesterday but plan on doing better today. It is such an easy task to accomplish so why don't I do it everyday???? Hope everyone else is doing good. Have a great holiday weekend... MJ |
