Hey All, I know it's been about a week since I've been here. Looks like everyone is hanging in there. I'm still doing my 2 mile WATP every morning. Didn't have a loss this past week but my eating hasn't been what it should have been. But I didn't gain and I always am glad of that when the eating is off. Hope everyone had a great Valentine Day. No chocolates here but DH got me jelly beans and a stuffed puppy. He said he started to buy chocolates but knew I was being faithful to WATP and didn't want to do that to me. He's a sweetie. But you know it seems like every Valentine's Day I'm trying to lose weight. My plan next year is not to be doing that. Hopefully I'll be where I should be.
Exciting news: I am booked for a 7 day cruise in Sept. to Eastern Caribbean. I have never been on a cruise before or done anything that exciting. My most exciting trip was Disney World so I can't wait. I may have already told you but I'm so happy I can't stop talking about it. I'm gonna work hard to get the pounds gone by then. Cause that means new clothes and new swimsuit. I can't think of a better reward than a cruise. Me, my brother, my son and his girlfriend are going. DH is saving his vacation days for fishing. Cruising isn't his thing and even tho I'll miss him for 7 days I'll have a great time. Well, sorry to have been gone so long, it's good to be back this week. Well, it finally happened. We finally got our winter! Brrrrrr. Tonight it is expected to go to -28 C (18.4 F) :shocksn: Yikes! I guess there will be no walking for me tomorrow, lol. I was just out for coffee and the wind is blowing! Sorry to hear about the 1 lb. Emjay. No worries, you will have it gone next week I'm sure. Good luck on your watp goal this week. Miki, glad to hear you will get away with some physio. Sorry to hear about dh back. My hubby put his back out last fall just by getting out of the car. He had to do physio for a couple of months, and it is still going out now and again. I hear you on the scale being discouraging. I don't know how it can jump 2-3 lbs. on a day by day basis. I weigh myself all week too (I know I shouldn't) and it's the same story. I only take the Saturday reading as fact though...keeps me sane. Hello Rivergal! Wow, you must be really excited about booking your cruise. I've also never been on a cruise, it sounds like a lot of fun (much more fun than fishing I think, lol). I'll bet by September you will look great in a new bathing suit! Well, not much else to update on. Just trying to get through this really cold week. Miki-Wow that sucks about hubby. Hope he is feeling better soon. Glad that you will probably be able to get by w/ therapy for your shoulder, just make sure you do everything they tell you to do.
RG-Congratulations on sticking to your excercise regimen. I have been trying hard to also, not easy w/ the new job. I have been on a cruise before, you will love it. I also left my hubby behind, he is not a cruiser either. Oh well. WW-We finally have winter as well. But I leave for Florida in 10 days so I'm not too concerned w/ it. Looks like it's finally getting a little wintery around here also. They are predicting some ice over the weekend but so far so good. Went to the grocery store after work and stocked up so if it does get bad, we're just going to pile up on the couch to watch movies all weekend. Have to admit, I wouldnt mind that happening. In fact, it sounds really good for a change.
Phil's back is a little better. He went back to work anyway. Probably shouldnt have so soon, but he just almost will not miss work for anything. He can walk but has to use a cane still. My physical therapy starts Tuesday. I'm ready to get that going and get my shoulder in shape so I can get back to my Airwalker. I hope ya'll have a good weekend. Stay warm!:) Miki |

Glad to hear Phil is on the mend. Sounds like he could benefit from some PT also. I saw on the news this AM that TX got the ice storm, did you guys get it too? It is bitter cold here (8 degrees) and snowing a little. Again, I will be out of here in about 9 or 10 days. Well got to go so I can fit in some excercise before work today. Wel, no weight loss this week. But no gain either, so that's nice. Not much to report here, we are at the end of a long weekend (today is Family day), so dh & I are going to head out to the Zoo. He hasn't been there in many years, so he will be shocked at the changes. Winter here lasted for 2 days. We are already getting closer and closer to 0 degrees again. Wonderful! This has been the best winter ever! I was worried, with windchill we had one day that was -40 C with windchill. That's actually death weather. Exposed skin in that kind of weather will start to experience frost bite after only a few minutes. I feel really sorry for the homeless when that starts happening. I'm sure we lose some of them in that weather, but it doesn't make the news often. Also...found a little dead bird in our parking lot. Poor thing had frozen. Emjay, happy to hear you are heading out to Florida soon. I hope you have a great time! I've never been there before, but it looks like a nice sunny place to spend some time. Miki, your husband is a bit like mine, lol. Mine was planning on going back to work right away too. I don't know how I talked him into seeing a doctor, but it resulted in him being off work for two weeks (thank you for pushy doctors). Glad to hear your pt is starting soon. We didnt get the bad weather that was expected. Very little ice. 2 days it was low 20s but it's back up to 30s or so now and raining. I was kinda disappointed actually just because I wanted to have the weather for an excuse to pile up all weekend and be lazy.:dizzy: Oh well. Started physical therapy today. It wasnt bad at all. I only have to go to 3 sessions, then I'll be able to do the rest of them at home. Phil went back for another steroid shot today. His back is improving but a ways from being 100%. Emjay, are you going to visit relatives or just going for a vacation to Florida? Sounds nice for this time of year for sure. WW, hope you had a good time at the zoo. We all need Family Day occasionally. I can barely stand to think about Josh who is 16 being away from me so soon. I'll still have Luke at home for 2 more years after that but I know all 4 yrs are going to FLY by! Rivergal and Shawna, hope you two are doing well. Post soon and catch us up ok? Well the countdown to FL begins, we leave in 1 week. I am feverishly cleaning my house. My nephew is staying here while we are gone since we will be gone for 1 month. I have a tendency to let my spare room get a little cluttered (actually alot), I frequently use it for main floor storage. Work is crazy, I'm actually leaving at a really bad time (one employee just returning from medical leave and one leaving on medical leave), but I arranged this all before I accepted the job so I'm trying not to feel too guilty. Hard to do though, not feel guilty that is. We have no family in FL, my husband just doesn't have enough to do in the winter so he plans these types of things. I know, I know we are a little young to be wintering in FL. Oh well. Miki, Glat do hear PT went well. WW, Brrr! The zoo this time of year??? Oh yeah, weighed in on Mon. and maintained. Scared to weigh in next Mon. though, haven't been working out much and eating hasn't been great. I really need some motivation or a kick in the butt or something. MJ |

Well, the Zoo was really fun, I hadn't been there in a long time. The weather was pretty good for the day, almost got to 0 C...warm enough! Fortunately, we have a really big zoo, and a lot of exhibits in the winter are indoors, so not too much time had to be spent outside. DH had never seen the Africa exhibit they built, so we went to check that out. It was great, the gorillas have a nice new BIG enclosure (well...big for a zoo anyway). One gorilla had a new toy. He had a very nice little digital camera in his hand. Someone must have dropped it in from above. I would have laughed if he figured out how to take a picture of us...but alas, all he did was chew it. I hope he doesn't get hurt on it. Emjay, how exciting! The countdown begins. You are never to old to winter somewhere warm, lol. Miki, glad to hear the pt will be so short lived. I'm going to follow your lead & not weigh myself this week. I haven't been exercising much this week. We got dumped on with snow this morning. But, it wasn't cold so it started melting already. Our streets are mucked up with slush now. Well, I'm going to go get some cleaning done. Hope you all have a great week! |

HL, Glad to see you back and that your PC is working well now. I did my 2-mile watp this AM, keep up the good work w/ yours. I can't wait to get to FL where I will be able to walk outside. My dog will enjoy that after no walking here in the winter.

Well, it's been a while since I last posted I see. No weight loss, but no gain. I'll take that as a good thing. Went this weekend to see the Pink Panther. Wasn't great, started off slow, but got funny later in the movie. Took the boys with me & they liked it. It's much more geared towards older kids than the originals are. Tiny kids won't get it though. HL, glad to hear you got your PC up & running again. Good work on the walking, I think 2 miles is pretty significant. Emjay: how many days to go before you leave? Congrats on the 2lbs. That's pretty cool. Well, I have to figure out what we will be having for dinner. I can hear dh pulling up outside, so now is the time where we negotiate over who is cooking, lol. I feel too tired! Talk to you all later. |

May as well confess...I've done awful with my eating lately and the only exercise I've gotten is the little physical therapy I've had. I go from one extreme to the other. I either do really well on both or blow it all the way around. Drives me crazy. Wish I could break that cycle of up and down and just STICK WITH IT. Work has been crazy. We've been going thru a bank audit so for over 2 weeks now we've had about 6 bank examiners with us daily. YUCK. They left today thankfully. Also, my supervisor as of today is officially retired which means I'm on my own from here out. We'll see how that goes I guess. Finished up my last PT session today so the rest will be at home on my own. I plan to start back on my AirWalker by next week. My shoulder is lots better. I didnt realize it had been so long since I had posted. Over a week I think. Emjay, isnt your vacation starting this week? I'm envious. The weather is good here too tho. It's supposed to be back up to the 70s tomorrow and low 80s by Thursday. Guess we're just skipping winter all the way around this year. I think we might have had 10 days total in the last 4 months that were actually cold as in freezing. Probably means an extra hot summer. Flowers are already blooming in my yard. I just noticed them this morning. Hoosierlady, glad your PC is up and running again. I cant stand when mine isnt working. WW, you're lucky that dh cooks for you! Mine doesnt cook altho he does lots of cleaning and clothes washing. Well, Luke, my 14 yr old is bugging me to get off here so he can burn a CD or something. Guess I'll go for now. Miki |

I'm back! Be prepared to be held accountable! I've been to Florida, I've seen the bikinis and I have no intention spending another year fat. I hope you are on board. We can do this with lots and lots of support from one another. I ate like a hog in FL and to my surprise only gained about 1.5 lbs. I am going to weigh in officially on Monday AM and get back on my normal schedule. Remember weekly weigh ins are the most important aspect of accountability. If you don't do well one week it makes you more focused on the next week. HL, Big congratulations on the 10% goal. That is not easy to do, but you did it! I am so proud of you.... Oh my gosh, Emjay, you dont know how glad I was to check in today and see you're back!!! I thought everyone had just dropped out. I am definitely here to stay. I cant do this alone, I know. I am not able to check in as often as I'd like right now due to work, but just know I'll always be back as soon as possible.
Ok, the bad news...I have gained 12 lbs since I started my new position at work!!!! I am devastated and had gotten really really down for the last month and pretty much just got in that mode where I was thinking, "Oh well, I'll never lose this weight." Good news....I'm out of that stinking way of thinking and this week I have done great with my eating, believe it or not. I have cut WAY back! I know without a doubt I'll have a loss on Monday so I'm really excited! Well, I am going to be late if I dont get ready for work now so I better go. Good for you on doing well this week. We can't give up we got to keep on going. Even if we did have some setbacks. The eleven lbs I lost before we went to FL was just enough so I could fit into last summers clothes. But I want them to be too big this year. I have been doing ok w/ my eating and trying real hard to get back on the excercise routine. This week I worked out Monday and Thursday, so I have to increase that. Ok finally got my tracker working. Kinda depressing since my last one showed my current weight as 211! I'm right back where I originally started! (well, this time around anyway) Guess it could be worse. There was a time when I actually saw 256 on the scale. I CANNOT ever let myself get back to that point!

Hi again. My shoulder is much better and probably well enough to exercise. So far tho I havent found time to do that. I've been working around 11 hrs a day with most days not even taking a lunch hr. By the time I get home and do supper, help with homework, etc, I just cant do it. I'm hoping that starting Monday, I can find time to fit in the exercise. One of the girls will be back from maternity leave so that should help. I've been doing her duties and mine for the past 5 weeks. I know the exercise will help with the stress I've had since the new position at work. I actually like the work but everyday I seem to find something else I need to learn. Gets overwhelming at times. Anyway, I need to go for now. My house is a mess and needs to be majorly scrubbed. Hope you have a good weekend!

Miki, 11 hours a day? Wow. I hope that the maternity leave girl coming back really does alleviate some stress for you. I could not do it. Well I have been checking the scale throughout the week (I'll never break myself of that) and if I behave myself today I should be down a few lbs tomorrow on weigh-in. But we are supposed to go out to breakfast w/ the inlaws and to my sisters for dinner at 4 today. So hopefully I can keep in control. I will definately find time to workout today or maybe take a long walk outside. The weather is decent here now. What is it like there?

Good news! I am down 3 lbs. again this week. My new job is really good for weight loss, I'm on my feet all day long w/ usually minimal time to eat and noone I work w/ is very domestic therefore no one is bringing goodies in (unlike most of the offices I have worked at in the past). Bad news! I sprained my ankle yesterday (pretty bad). I am on the couch w/ it elevated right now. I did go to work today and worked half a day, I took 600mg. of Ibuprofen and am not in pain. But it is very swollen and I don't dare fitness walk on it yet. Hopefully tomorrow I can ease back into a 1-mile watp. Argh, I hate setbacks. I hope you check in soon w/ how you did on weigh-in day. Emjay, Sorry to hear about your ankle! Dont get back on it too soon...those things can be worse to get over than even a break at times. It is frustrating tho to be in a routine and have to stop for something like that.
Congratulations on 3 more lbs down! That's great! My loss this week was only 1 lb. It's down tho so that's a good thing. I honestly think it's really more than that. I have figured out through trial and error lately than I just cannot drink diet drinks without showing a gain on the scale. I know that sounds crazy, but for 2 weeks I"ve tested this theory. Last week I lost 3 lbs, remember? Well, the next week, I ate exactly the same except that I had a Diet Coke almost every day. By Thursday, I showed UP 4 lbs! I was sick about it. Anyway, Sunday, all I drank was water, and by Monday morning, I showed back to less a lb rather than plus 4. Thats a huge difference. I've decided that if I just have to have my Diet Cokes (well, really it's Diet Vanilla Coke at Sonic that I am addicted to lol)...anyway, I will only drink them at the first part of the week and stick with water toward the end. If not, that stupid scale makes me get discouraged even though I know I"m eating right and that it's just the Diet Cokes. Have you ever had that prob with diet drinks?? It's amazing to me that two diet drinks honestly can cause the scale to show a 3-4 lb difference. Very frustrating. Maybe it's just me, I dont know. Really nice weather here right now. Sunny and around 80 degrees with a breeze. I should be out walking but my sister is still having feet probs and I just hate going by myself. (I know..excuses, excuses) I actually only worked from 8 til 5 today plus took a one hr lunch! It felt soooo good doing that!!! Makes my mood MUCH better. Well, better run for now. Need to take advantage of getting home earlier today to get some things done around here. Miki |

Congrats on the weightloss. That is awesome (it is always awesome when the scale goes downward. My ankle is doing well. It is still swollen but pretty much pain free. I walked 2 miles this AM and may do 3 tomorrow. The weather is about the same here (70's and sunny). Maybe the problem w/ the diet coke is the sodium??? Sometimes diet foods have more sodium for flavor to compensate for less fat or calories. I bet your plan to only drink it early in the week may help. I rarely drink soda so I have not tested the theory myself. Hope to talk to you soon, have a good week. MJ |

Hi Emjay :) Well no loss for me but no gain either so it could be worse. I did not work at it this week like I did the last 2 though so it's my own fault. Seriously it would be much worse, I know, if you werent still showing up here. I just cant seem to stick with it alone and I do a little better than I would normally just because I hate to come in and tell you bad news..lol I really appreciate the accountability and support. I just wish everyone else would come back! We had so many that were regulars then we both missed a few weeks awhile back and all of a sudden, we come back to find the thread empty! Oh well, the two of us will just keep trudging along anyway lol. Hope you have a good day today. Not sure when I'll be able to check in next but hopefully soon. Miki, Good job on maintaing. Wish I could have done the same...but oh well I knew it was a bad week. Just walked the dog 2 miles. I am really going to step up the excercise and be more consistent w/ it from here on out. I found a new pal that will probably be checking in here tomorrow, her username is angel33. She is a lot like us in some ways and has about as many lbs. to lose. So we are all in it together...

How are you today? It's been a little crazy around work today, so I haven't been around much. Well I do have some good news. Today was my WI day and I'm down 1lb. Finally. After not losing for 4 weeks now the scale seems to be coropating again. I came pretty close to giving up a coupe of times but I'm glad I didn't. The other interesting thing that I found was that last week I took my measurements. Well to my surprise in a week I have lost an inch in my waist, an inch in my thighs and 1.75 inches in my hips. I wished that I had taken my measurements when I started 10 weeks ago. Oh well. Well just wanted to say HI. Miki-Hi there. I see you're not on here very often, well I hope to chat with you soon. Good for you on the pound down. That is great. Do you always WI on Tuesdays? I always w/i on Monday. Sorry I didn't get here till late. My work schedule varies alot and I am working days most of this week. I do not have a computer at work only at home. So what time do you have to get up to do WATP before work??? If I work days I usually don't wake up early enough to do it. I am trying to decide if I will do a tape tonight or walk outside. Well talk to you later. MJ |
