I planned ahead for an evening out since we had a few relatives visiting. My plan was to stay on plan so I thought ahead on what I would order. My food choices: small filet, baked potato with a side of FF ranch dressing and a tossed salad with FF dressing. Once I looked at the menu, no filet, so I ordered the grilled chicken breast. Then the server came back out in about 10 minutes to tell me no baked potatoes so I kindly said just give me the vegetable of the evening. After another 10-15 minute wait, she came out to tell me they had no FF dressings of any kind! So, instead of my planned choices ** I had chicken, green beans and a salad with low fat ranch. Still not bad choices, just not what I originally wanted plus I'm not a big fan of grilled chicken other then me preparing it. I was to my breaking point, ready to say just give me anything, but I remained calm and stayed OP.
Gayle-Good for you. However, remember you could have used some of your WPA, if you had any left. Is today or tomorrow your WI day? I can't wait to see if you have lost anything!
I am stashing my WPA for good stuff Shelley! I hated to waste my points on stuff I really didn't want. I did count points for the dressing though...counted 6 points just in case the green beans had hidden seasonings etc. Just stunk to be all prepared and my plan fell through! LOL!
My offical weigh-in is Monday, but I have lost weight!!!! Not changing my tracker until Monday after the big weigh-in. I think I did ok watching my WPA's...started out with 35 and as of today I used 29, so I have 6 left and I start new tomorrow. I'm not using any AP's. I can tell I'm starting to build muscle from working at the store. I'm tracking and I am averaging around 10-15 hours a week of doing all physical stuff like moving cases etc. I figure as long as I keep this job, I really do not need to incorporate strenght training into my walking plan.
Official weigh-in day!!! I am down 5 pounds!!!! Although....because of my slacking over the past month or two...I am now correct with my tracker so it will need to go another week before I change it. I am really liking this plan, it is working for me and I hope it continues!!!
I'm sitting here with pink-eye waiting for the dr.'s office to open so I can have them call me in some drops. So no work for me today! Once I get the drops, I can go back tomorrow.
I'm really tired from working the game! It was a long, good ballgame.
Gayle...I'm so happy for you!!!!! Did you hear me cheering about your weight loss from TN????!!!!!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!
I'm down another 2 lbs. this morning! It's a total of 17 lbs. since Aug.1st!!
Hello to all.....PLEASE POST ALL OF YOU LURKERS!!!!!!! I miss you Carol & Dee!!!
Gayle-I am so glad that you are liking Core. My weight has been down a bit more also. For the last few days, my weight has been 123. Tomorrow is WI day and usually it is back up by then. As long as I stay under 130 lbs, I am happy. I love Core also.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Gayle and Sherry! You two are doing fabulous. I am still trying to get back onto Low Carb. I shopped yesterday so I have no excuses. I am looking into joining the Good Life Gym. We get a big discount because of working for the Government, so I guess i don't have any excuses. I want to join the LOOSERS TOO! Hello to everyone else out there lurking. Shelley keep safe I hear you have another storm heading for Florida. HANG IN THERE
Janice, I didn't realize you worked for the Canadian Government. I'm a U.S. Gov't employee myself--Howdy there!
Gayle, so glad to hear you got such great results on your 1st core week!!! Keep up that great work!
Shelley, hope you're missed by Rita.
Debbie, school will get better! The kids will settle in and down soon!
Sherry, you're doing such a great job on your diet, too. You and Gayle are great inspirations! I like your new ticker. Cute, cute, cute!
Mom and I went to Branson this week-end on a spur-of-the-moment trip. It was fun, but I got sick the 2nd day we were there and haven't recovered yet. I came in to work today, anyway (I was off yesterday), so I hope it's not contageous.
Feel better soon Cheryl!!!! I've been meaning to ask, how is your sister? Is she still living with your folks?
Janice, I am sending vibes your way for a great OP week!!!! CATCH'EM!!!!
There ya go, now we want to see the good results posted here next week.
I can not say enough good things about core, Shelley! I never knew what it was all about until I started researching. I am an ALL or NOTHING gal and most diets I fail either by starving or binging. With this one, just when I get to thinking what I want isn't on the core list, then I remember I can use my points for it! Cool!!!!
Sher, since everyone seems to be following a plan, what would you think of actually doing a weigh-in day and posting on a separate thread? Say everyone agreed to Mondays, we could all post our results that day? Then, as we went along, we could talley the group pounds lost and compare the weight to something else? Such as, 5 pounds lost could be a bag of potatoes, 10 pounds lost the weight of the average 2 month old baby etc???????
Gayle great idea! You are doing wonderful on Core. I might just have to check into that. I thought that once I am feeling better that I would go back to ww's. I am a life time member and I would only have to pay the monthly fee because I haven't been there for over a year. I am under my goal weight so after that it would be free. Your dinner the other night sounded so frustrating. I would have just given in and ate what ever.
Sherry you are going great with sticking it out with low carb. Congratulations on the weight loss. I hope that your pink eye clears up soon. Do you think that you caught it from a child at school?
Shelley you have done so well maintaining under goal. Stay safe with the storm coming in. Is your school closing?
Janice come on and be a loser! Once you get past the first few days it is so much easier. You can do it.
Cheryl I am glad that you were able to get away with your mom but I am sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. Is it a flu you caught? Did your mom end up getting it to? I know that you wanted to get a day off work but you didn't have to go to this extent. lol Please take care and eat lots of chicken soup.
Has anyone heard of the Pandora or Chamilia charm bracelets? They are the in thing. Larry bought me on for a gift after my surgery. The charms he bought me are beautiful. If you look up www.chamilia.com you will see a silver love bead (JA-16) with a little red stone on it, that is one of the ones he bought me. I also have two garnet birthstone charms (l-26) that are the ones that are round with stones all around them. I pick that to go on either side of my love charm since that matches. (I am so anal). The other two matching ones I have are heart locks (MA-2) that keep the beads in place. I just love it. I call it my love bracelet.
I am recovering really well. I am happy to say that the incision scars are thin and starting to fade. That was my biggest fear of looking butchered. I am very happy with the out come. I have a little bruising yet and of course I am still sore. It takes a couple of months for your breast to fully take shape but they are looking good. I have to say I look like a hot mama. My before picture is gross! We haven't taken any after pictures yet because of the swelling and bruising. Besides that I still have to wear a binder (it is like a girdle) and a special bra 24/7 for a few more days. I have to say that I am very happy that I had the surgery. I am no longer embarrassed of my tummy. Thanks for the support. You girls are the only ones that know besides one other friend and of course Larry. I am embarassed to tell anyone the truth so I just say I had a hernia operation. Even the kids don't know or my family. Thanks for being there.
Gayle, my sister is doing much better, thanks for asking. She got a house in a city about 10 miles from where my parents live and she is settling in nicely. My niece, her daughter, on the other hand is not doing well AT ALL. She tried to commit suicide last week.
She tried to hang herself last Thursday night and my soon to be ex-b-i-l didn't even call my sister and let her know until LATE Saturday night. How's that for a kicker? I'm very worried about my niece, not too surprised, though (I know that sounds awful, but she's 16 and she's been through He!! the past few years w/her folks).
I wish she would have called me before trying something so drastic. I feel as though I have failed her in some way. I don't know what I'm going to say to her the next time I see her.......
Cheryl I am sorry to hear about your neice. Dez was hospitalize for depression and trying to commit suicide. Is your neice getting help or is she in the hospital? Please make sure she gets help. Your BIL was not fair in calling your sisiter. When you see your neice next give her a big hug and tell her you love her and that if there is anything she wants to talk about you are there for her. I feel for you because I have been there. Just make sure she gets some help the feeling just doesn't go away without help. Hugs to you.
Cheryl-I am so sorry about your niece. I hope she gets the help she needs. I would encourage counseling and do consult Dee, because she has been through it.
Dee-Can't post too much right now, but I'll respond to your post tomorrow. I'm so happy that you are happy with the outcome of your surgery.
