Wink

Hi, I would like to thank all of ya'll for making me feel so welcome to this group. I hope that I will be able to stick to my diet and exercise program throughout the summer into the winter. I would really like to weight at least 110 pounds by the end of next summer (my long time goal) because I will be graduating form a two-year community college and transfering to a four-year university. and think that if I make it to my long time goal I would make an effort to stay small. I have 36 pounds to go to before I will be 110 pounds I wish I could get to that this summer but I have to be realistic! I hope that I can lose at least 10 pounds by my birthday (July 14)! Again thank you for such a warm welcome.
Wish you all continued success
If you would like to add someone to your buddy list find one of their messages at the top it says profile, pm, buddy list things like that find buddy list and click on it!!!

Happy Birthday Sharon!!
You share your special day with my Nicole. Hope that it was a good one for you.
JO: If I remember correctly you always had a problem with weight gain when you were premenstrual. Hope that your weghin went well. I get really nervous the night before too. Don't forget "One Day at a time"
Trish: You are doing so well. You will be really proud of yourself for your sons wedding. I will have to check out WWonline for their journal. They have E-tools but want you to pay for it with a credit card.
Sylvia: How are you doing?? Keep checkinbg in with us. Most everyone is still here.
I have a major problem. I can manage to keep myself on track during the week when I am working but the weekends all fall apart. I didn't journal and made 3 trips to the cookie jar. Someone kick me please. We did walk last night but there was too much rain today. It was a couch potato day. I am actually glad to be getting back to work tomorrow. Hope that you all had a better weekend. Take care all. Love, Julie

Talking Happy Monday

It is a real happy one for me even if it does look like it will rain today. I am back to my normal 3 days a week at work.
Saturday we went to the marina on our son in laws brothers boat and just went around the lake to downtown Chicago. It was like heaven to me. Then where he is docked in Indiana there is a gambling boat that you can walk to. So me and my daughter and a friend went. I ended up hitting a $600.00 jackpot on the slots.I also had a bit too much wine and suffered with a headache the next day.Live and learn.

Tatter-Baby Welcome to the group. I don't think that losing 36 pounds by next summer is too unreal. What diet progran do you follow? And what exercise do you do?

Julie GREAT JOB!!!!!!On the 3.6 loss. You are right and hardly ever feel hungry on the new ww program. Good choice on making a tossed salad for the picnic. Maybe when that cookie jar calls you, you can grab an apple instead.

Ginabob Actually your description of the lights going out at work etc sounded a bit relaxing. But not having all the background noise makes a big difference.

Trish Good job on the 1.5 loss. I think you will be able to get to the 8.5 loss by your son's wedding. I too will check out that ww site for journaling.

Sylvia Good to see you back here.

MaryK Glad your weight seems to be going in the right direction. Are you still working so many hours?

Chrissy Am counting the days until we get to Michigan to see you guys. Miss you very much.See you on the 23rd.

Are any of our Pa. gals having any problems with Allison that is around that area? Hope all is o.k. with any of you. Love to all.....Sandi

Unhappy oh...no....help!!

Well...well...here I am. Sorry to not be posting lately, but have been caught up in a funk lately,(do people still use that word?) Not really going anywhere with my weight, and feel like I'm just spinning my wheels and getting stuck in the sand. I'm trying to maintain, and quite frankly I think thats all I'm able to do right now. Had a really bad day,(work wise) and feel totally deflated....(a problem with a customer...who was very rude to me) Anyway, thats it...sorry to dump this on you all, but feel I had to explain why I haven't been around. Usually I'm so motivated and queen of the feel-good, but this is a doozey and don't really want to bring anyone else down. You all seem to be doing really well...keep up the good work. See you later...bye

Hi all. What a weekend it has been! Guess some of you have heard that Hurrican Allison belted us over the weekend. Have you heard about the apartment flood and fire. Apparently the flooding ruptured a gas line and the whole building exploded. 6 people's bodies were found burned in the rubble. Sorry to be so graphic but my friend lives in that complex. I spent a good part of Sunday and yesterday trying to track her down. As of yesterday morning, they still hadn't accounted for all the residents. I drove past but between the Red Cross trucks, fire engines and news crews, couldn't get close. I finally rolled down my window and started asking people which building(s) burned. Finally someone said it was A, B and C. My friend lives in G. I still haven't heard from her but have heard that everyone in the complex had been evacuating because of the flooding and they'll mostly be allowed back in sometime today. I hate not knowing.

Rich and I started Sat. AM working in the garden but then the rains came so we had to quit. We didn't realize how bad it was going to get!! We stayed home but lots of people were out on Sat. evening trying to get around or get home and couldn't get through flooded roads and knocked out bridges, etc. Ooh, this is just too close for comfort. Fortunately, Rich and I had just a little water in the basement but heck it does that just about every time it rains. By late Sunday afternoon, the sun had come out and yesterday there was little sign of anything at all except for some damage, mud, closed roads. And of course what's left of that apartment complex.

Actually the weekend had started out pretty well. I was actually down half a pound at weigh in which was quite a shock. Sunday night, I went out with the girls to the Eric Clapton concert. We had dinner first and I pigged out on linguine and calamari but it was soooo good. Of course, after the concert, we ended up back at the VFW for a couple beers. And since I had off yesterday, that meant I was allowed to eat anything and everything, right? Dummy!

Know what today is? On June 19, 2000, I walked back into WW for the first time and rejoined. Exactly one year ago today. And in some ways, I feel like I've come so far and I feel beter, etc. but in other ways I feel like "A whole year and ONLY 35 lbs!?!?" And then I get into feeling sorry for myself eating mode. Yeah, one of these days, I'll learn.

I have to get back to work now. I'd complain about how nothing seems to get done when I'm not here, etc. etc. but I know you guys have heard that from me before. Oh shut up already, Jo!

Off to my big salad lunch!
Much love, Jo.

Default Hello Hello Hello!

Hey guys,
How are all of you's doing? I am doing pretty good. I went to my Weight Watchers meeting on Monday and was down .2 lbs, not alot but hey it is better than gaining right? And I am going in the right direction at least! We have eaten out so much this past week with my birthday and Fathers Day as well. We ate at Cracker Barrel on my Birthday which was Friday the 15th. Than on Saturday Ken, daughter Kelly, sons Dan and Alan all went a day early for Fathers Day, to The Cheesecake Factory. Oh my gosh was it ever a slice of heaven to eat there. They have over 200 items on the menu including dozens and dozens of kind of cheesecakes. Fancy pasta's and everything else you could want. I had this great angel hair pasta in a peanut sauce with veggies and it was soooo great. I only ate half of it though and took the rest home for another day. We also instead of ordering a piece of cheesecake for each of us, just ordered a couple of kinds and passed it around and got our forks in it to taste it. We had a Lemon Mouse Cheesecake and a Peanut Butter and fudge and cookie dough cheesecake and man it was to die for. I am glad though I just tasted a bit of each one and I think trying to stay on the straight and narrow really helped me.

Well have just been so busy planting my garden with Ken. It is about all done and have been busy digging and planting. Not alot of things in it, some tomato plants, green, Jalapano, Hot banana and Habenaro peppers as well. Also some cucumbers, muskmelon and Crimson baby watermelon as well. I think I am gonna plan some lettuce tomorrow the Looseleaf kind where you just cut what you need and the rest continues to grow. We have these baby and big jackrabbits that come out at night and I guess I will feed them so they leave my other stuff alone and concentrate on the lettuce that they love. Ken thinks I am nuts to feed them, but hey I say let them eat what they want and there is plenty there for all of us.LOL

Thanks so much guys for all the Birthday well wishes. I had a great birthday and really enjoyed being with my wonderful family. I enjoyed reading all your posts to me. Thanks again!

Gail-Yes my dinner at the Olive Garden last week went great. I just love going there. I think I did pretty good which is hard at that place with all the great dishes they have their. Me, my daughter Kelly and friend Lynn all split a couple of pitchers of Sangria. My daughter Kelly lives really close and I stayed at her house for the better part of the evening till I could see. LOL Thanks for the email back to me and I will answer soon I promise. Hope you are still doing well on your program too.

ginabob-So glad you are back from your trip to Dallas. Wow you lost 2 lbsl to boot too. That is great and much better than gaining. Sorry you didn't feel so well though. Hope you are feeling more chipper now though.

Julie-Thanks so much for posting with me on the Exercise Thread Jules. You don't know how thankful I have someone there with me. Now I won't be so lonely. I will post soon again. Haven't been walking or going to the gym, but still have been putting in my garden and that counts right? Wow you have almost been married for a whole year. WAY TO GO! Your kids are growing so fast Julie. That is great that Nicole and me have the same birthday. Funny about Seans fire engine red hair. When I got back from Michigan Dan-age 20 had Cherry Cola red hair. I was sooo mad but now I am over it and it is now almost gone. But he is a good kid, respectful and not trouble at all to live with. As long as he keeps working and keeps his nose clean that is the main thing. LOL Yes you can count points at the Olive Garden but I never do, it is like "WHO CARES" and I just eat what I want and try to just eat like half my meal and not a bunch of appetizers, drinks and deserts ect while there. Although we sure did have some Sangria didn't we? HA HA HA

Slimgram-A big welcome to our wonderful group my friend. Well you have come to the right place for help. First of all congratulations on your quitting smoking. That can't be an easy thing for you to do. Keep on coming here and you will get where you want to be in no time at all.

Jello-Still waiting for details of your trip to Ohio. Can't wait to hear all about it. So sorry about the flood and the fire in your friends building. I hope and pray that she is found safe and sound. Let us know how it turns out. Congrats on your 1 year anniversary for Weight Watchers. Time sure flies doesn't it. Don't say ONLY 35 lb cause that is such a great loss to me. I am proud of you!

Sandi-Hey you little BRAT! You finally started a new thread eh? Good for you. That is a first I think for you isn't it? Your day at the marina in downtown Chicago sounds like it went great. Also glad you won that $600 jackpot. What are you going to do with your newfound wealth? Glad you are getting back to working the way you did before. You need a rest I'll bet. Working as much as you did has got to be tiring.

tatter baby-You are most welcome for the welcome. I for one am glad that you joined up with us. You won't regret it. If you want to lose 10 more lbs why don't you just join up with our Labor Day Challenge to encourage, support and motive you. That way if you get where you want to be than great if not you can work some more on it. You share your birthday with my dear brother Rick, who was killed a couple of years ago. He is my sister in law and best friend Chrissy of our Thin Group. Also my niece, his daughter Emily was born on his birthday as well. I think you will make your goal and we will all help you get where are going too.

angeleyes-Glad you posted with us and don't give up on us. Sorry you are in funk but keep on posting with us and we will help you out of your funk. OK? Just do the best you can and that will be good enough too. Don't worry you won't bring everyone else down cause we all just want to help you get where you want to be going.

CJ-Hey girlfriend, can you read this if you are near a computer? Hope you get on your friends Bev's puter and drop us a line as to how you are doing on your vacation at the cabin. Miss you and hope you come back soon.

Chrissy-I too loved talking with you on my birthday. It was so great sister in law to talk to you and help each other get through everything we went through since my brother and your husband was murdered a couple of years ago. I still miss him daily and so very much too. Hey your daughter Ellen called me tonight. I love when she calls, she just loves her Aunt Sharon doesn't she? We had a great talk and I told her to say hi to you. I miss you and your daughters Emily and Ellen too. How did Fathers Day go? Did my dad papa come over for dinner? I forgot to ask ellen about that. Hope you guys had fun!

Trish-My gosh girl you are doing so well with your weight loss. Another 1.6 lbs you lost. Great! 16.5 lbs is wonderful. I know that you will make it in time for your son's wedding. Hope your unappreciate boss is in a better mood with you.

Sylvia-450 emails? Wow it will take your a month of Sundays to sort through it all. LOL Post again and let us know how you are doing. Miss you!

Mary Kay-You are doing well with your program so far. So glad you checked in with us. Come on back soon. Miss you girl. I know you are probally still working so hard at the bowling alley right?

Well guys time to get off here and get to bed. I am pretty tired so nighty night Thinsters. See you tomorrow. Take care and have a good night!

Love ya, Sassy Sharon

Default New mummy is back...

My goodness me the reply page is different now!! I shall have to work this out.

Well everyone Charlotte is now 9 weeks old and we are off to a lactation consultant today as I have had lots of troubles breastfeeding, though am doing much better now, but she hasn't gained too much weight so they want to watch me feed her and stuff. Between that and being quite behind with Uni, oh and trying to get a mortgage (we've decided to buy a house), I've been very stressed and have put on weight because I stopped exercising and have been eating non-stop!!

Anyways just popping in to say I'm joining WW next week and will be a regular poster again as soon as my last two Uni essays are done (by Monday I'm hoping). Late birthday wishes to Sharon, hello to the newbies, hugs to Chrissy <<Chrissy>> and my love to all the regulars!! (Jo, 35 pounds in a year is excellent - 35 pounds gone forever!!!)

Okay baby wants some more food (I feel like a milk bar I swear!!!)

Hello All,
Just back from my walk and my legs are killing me. We are expecting thunder storms and the sky was getting quite dark. As the wind picked up my girlfriend kept urging me to go faster and faster. It was as close as this large body has ever come to jogging Not something I want to do any time soon. I have just heard from number one son who is working 2 jobs in Mass. He seems very happy and just needs to find an apartment. Rents are so high in the Boston area. I have a day off tomorrow but my whole day is so budgeted it looks like I won't get a minute to myself.Sometimes I wish that I could get 2 days off together every week. Oh Well So it goes.
Sandi: Congratulations on your big win. It sounds like you had a great time. Have fun with Chrissie and give her a big kiss for me ok??
Angel eyes: It really is easy to get caught up in a funk. Just don't let it last too long. Maintaining the same is always better than gaining. Rude people are just awfull. Just think of chickens cackling
JO: sounds like you had a really exciting weekend. I hope that you found your friend and that she is alright. The Eric Clapton concert sounds wonderfull. Thanks for sharing it with us.Let me tell you that 35 pounds down is a heck of a lot better than the 30 pounds that I put back on.You should be proud of yourself and give yourself a big hug.
Sharon: Those cheesecakes sound like they were to die for. I'm almost glad that we don't have a place like that near here. You made good choices though. I love that you feed the bunnies in your garden. They need to eat too. Seans hair has now faded but he is talking about bleaching just the top of it. He is also trying to get a job for the summer so I told him that he should wait a bit. It's really hard for a 15 year old to find a job but I really don't want him hanging around all summer. That could be dangerous.
Sam: Congratulations Mom. Geez, I drop out of the group for a year and look at you having a baby. I think that's wonderfull. Hope that she is a good baby for you.
Well group it's starting to thunder and that's my cue to close down the machine. Take care all. Love, Julie

Wink it's me....

Hi Everyone. Thanks for all the well-wishes to get that lady out of my system. And I think you are all right....she's not worth the grief!! As for the plan, I'm going to try and take my own advice of taking it one meal at a time. If I'm really honest ....its the combination of the rude customer and the 3 month plateau that I seem to be on THAT HAS REALLY GOT ME DOWN. So, slowly but surely I've been reading success stories...(anyone see Kymbra's from success thread?...wow) and trying to get re-motivated that way.
We take our holidays next week, and they couldn't have come at a better time!! The last thing I want to do for the whole week, is to mope around like the doom'n gloom. So I had better get in the groove....thats it!!!...I just lost my groove thing.... lol (well maybe not...didn't see that movie, and I don't think we're talking about the same groove thing...haha) THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT!!...YOU ARE REALLY THE BEST!! Bye

ps...CJ- Sorry to not been posting/messaging you my stats. But theres been nothing happening there for sometime. And the only time I did feel good about a loss....you went away for a bit!! haha, isn't that always the way? So....I've actually gained but am trying to GET BACK ON TRACK. Sorry again, but next week I'll check in (hopefully in time) for the weekly updates. Wish me luck!!

Good afternoon! I used to post around the same time every morning but haven't been able to lately. Not like I have had much to say anyway. Not that that's ever stopped me before.

Yes, thanks, to everyone who's been asking if I found my friend. She didn't have any flood damage even though she's on the first floor. It's actually up a short flight of steps to her apt. The building's basement got flooded just like it did 2 years ago during Hurricane Floyd. Now the issue is whether the apartment complex owners are going to stay there or close the whole place down and make everyone move. My friend isn't too sure if she wants to stay anyway.

Tatter-baby, congratulations on your "new" pants!!! Bet you look great in them too.

Angel-eyes, you are right. She's not worth worrying over. There's a woman I work with who's always miserable and always trying to make everyone around her miserable (especially me it seems). I finally decided the same thing about her. She's just not worth my time or one single passing thought.

Julie, thanks for your kind words about my 35 lbs. Usually, I feel really good about it but sometimes I just wish it could be more. And faster! Especially since I just heard from an old email buddy who is bragging that she's dropped 30 lbs. in 3 months. Don't know what diet she's following and I know that it can't be totally healthy to lose weight that fast but I can't help being just a teeny tiny bit jealous. But I'll keep plugging!

Sam, can't believe Charlotte's 9 weeks old already! Hope things calm down for you soon.

OK, just a quick story about my trip to Ohio. Everyone knew I was coming except mom and dad. (I'm so proud of all of them for keeping the secret! ) Anyway, my brother had told our parents that he had to run over to the university to meet with his student advisor about the grad courses he's taking. He snuck off to the airport to get me. When we got back to the house, he went in first and told mom and dad that he'd brought his advisor over to the house because she wanted to meet them. So I walked in.

Now you have to understand that my mom's eyesight isn't very good and when I came in the sunlight was behind me so all mom saw was a person in the glare, etc. But she was very nice and stood up and put out her hand and said something about hello, it's nice to meet you, etc. etc. Meanwhile, my father had a better view so he immediately shouted hi and started to hug me. Poor mom. It took her a few minutes to figure out why everyone was laughing and my dad was hugging this strange woman he'd just met, etc. Then I got closer and she realized it was me. Anyway, we had a great time.

Well, I have to go. I had a big salad for lunch with lots of onions and I really really really need to find some gum or a couple dozen tic-tacs! Yikes!

Hope you're all having a good one!
Much love, Jo.

Hello All,
Just back from tonights meeting and I'm really disapointed to have only lost 1/2 pound this week.I thought that after last nights almost run that I would have done better. I know that I will do better next week. My dad came for lunch today and Niles made wonderfull seafood kebabs. Yummy and only 6 points. Dad is watching his weight too ever since he was diagnosed with diabetes. I made a pasta seafood salad for my nephews graduation party tomorrow night and you can't even tell that it is with lowfat mayo. Put in lots of dill for flavor.
Taterbaby: Congrats on those pants. Sounds like you are really firming everything up. Keep up the good work.
Angel Eyeso have a good time on holiday. Maybe if you do some physical things it could help you break your plateau. Good luck.
Jo: Don't you just wish that we could go to sleep and wake up thin. I would pay anything for that It was a wonderfull suprise for your parents. I'm sure it was a terrific visit.
Well ladies time to get ready for work tomorrow. 1 day off just isn't enough somehow. Take care all. Love, Julie

Unhappy aww....no fair...don't want to be #28

Come on....not fair!! I don't want to be #28!! geez...whoever is after me...better copy/paste me...PLEASE.

Hi Everyone. Well....its me...back better than ever!! Sort of like the new and improved version!! sorry for the temporary episode of the customer...but now....FUHGET ABOUTIT!!!!

Since I've been trying like heck, to get back on track ...I weighed myself yesterday to find out that I actually lost 2lbs since not weighing last week and then today.....lost another .5lb. I don't really give a flying hoot if it is water weight...retention or what...I'LL TAKE IT!!! It is enough to re-enforce my committment and focus. So its true.....the good ol' angel-eyes is back!!! If I'm honest, I met some new people in chat/boards lately and "they're down and out....can't start attitude " really got to me. It spurned me on in replying to them that.....if you walk the walk....then it will happen. So in just giving them some tips and adivce; I started to fix my problem. All I know is that I'm pumped, going to try to get a sitter tonight for a workout, and today will be a cinch!! Enjoy the day....looks like heavy rain today, and thundershowers....but I'll be shining!! See ya...bye
