Hello Ladies,
Went back to work yesterday and it's been pretty busy. Trying to get alot of year end things done. Hopefully tomorrow will be a quite and short day. Monday is our holiday off.
As far as resolutions, I tend to make them and not follow through. This year my resolution is to eat healthy and be more aware of when I"m eating. I'm also getting the treadmill back out.
Hal - did you make it to the Ww meeting? I'm thinking of rejoing, but then again I know I have all the material it's just a matter of following it.
Shad - Hoping you get some relief from the heat. Our temps have been somewhat warm and 2 days ago, we had lots of fires. It was very windy here and it's very dry. The fireman are very concerned with the New Year's celebration of poping fireworks. They are illegal in our city limits, but there are fools out there who don't listen.
Cat - So sorry to hear about your freinds passing.

RE: Happy New Year Movers and Losers...
[center]
Good Saturday morning everyone!
It's dark and rainy here in central Kentucky. Our temperatures have warmed and I am sure that will be good for the energy bills rolling in the next few months. I have two more holiday days off (Monday and Tuesday) and then it is back to the real world. I'll be at school both Monday and Tuesday finishing grading and posting semester grades and preparing new lessons and course work for the new semester. I did not go in Thursday/Friday as hoped. My new cable modem was ruined by a huge electrical storm on Wednesday. It was not only very strong, but lasted almost en entire hour. I only had the modem 4 months! So, I had a new one installed plus a router. I'm typing on my lap top wireless. It is almost like riding a bike without the training wheels, pretty neat stuff! LOL. Anyway, I had cable guys (good looking ones too) as well as a friend that is computer savy in on both Thursday working on my computer and telephone service. We hope all the kinks are fixed. I had my windows, and virus protection updated so I should be good to go.
A friend gave me a 1969 concert CD of Simon and Garfunkel that is awesome. It is very good as far as the audio, and the music is incredible. It is so strange listening to Paul Simon introduce their 'new song' Bridge Over Troubled Water". Neat, huh?
Well girls, I'm going to join WW Tuesday. I put it off one more week. I knew this week would be nuts, and I was right. Too many meetings with friends I rarely see, and I sm not eating everything in site, but have not added the accountability to WW plan just yet. Tuesday. For sure. I am going kicking and screaming. I do not want to do it. Wild, huh? It's just the truth.
Happy and Healthy New Year girls.. I really appreciate each of you! All the very best in 2006.

Hi Ladies,
I guess they knocked me out again from getting the e-mails. Well I got through the holiday quite well. Even though we were invited out, Gene insisted on staying home. I did bowl in an after-dinner tournament, and I was lucky enough to win $29. I came in second and it cost $22 to bowl. We are just staying home again for New Years Eve and then again tomorrow I will be bowling in a Hangover Tournament. Gene is happy about this because he can watch all the football games on the big TV.
HalGal -- I, too, am deciding whether I want to go back to WW. Since I am a lifetime member I can go during the month of January one time for $12. I was reading the comments about the Sonoma diet, and I vaguely remember reading about it in one of my magazines--the one thing I remember is that the menus they come up with are always things that I do not particularly like or that it requires a lot of time to prepare. I am back on my Aciphex medicine because I am still having stomach problems. If they don't go away I will have to go back to the doctor.
HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL OF YOU "WONDERFUL" LADIES!
Anita

Good Morning and Happy 2006 to you all. I see Mooz has beaten me to the punch but I was just too tired when I got in last night or should I say this morning to do anything.
This heat is energy sapping. Yesterday I toddled off to the gym and was a blob of sweat by the end of my workout, even though there is aircon at the gym. The workout must have even been slow because I hadn't finished completely after an hour. When I left the building, I was hit by the wall of heat and the temps just climbed from there. Things don't look to be much better today out there and I had high hopes of getting some work done in the garden as my exercise for the day.
I hope all of you have a happy and enjoyable New Year. May all your wishes come true and for those starting out on WW or new diets, then you have my love and hopes for a successful time.
Some of you may know that I have been keeping charts and measurements of my weight and shape for the last couple of years. Today I have brought them up to date and started a new worksheet for the year 2006. I was checking the figures and noticed two things.
1. Weight loss has not been great over the past 2 years. A grand total of 3 kilos or 6.6lbs. Good stuff but not great.
2. I have lost a total of 20 inches from all over this body. 11.75 inches in 2004 and 8.25 inches in 2005. Now that is not bad I reckon.
All up a loss of :
Upper chest - 2.5 inch
Bust - 2.75 inches
Lower Chest - 2.5 inches
Waist - 4 inches
U Hip - 4.25 inches
L Hip - 2.75
Top of Arm - is up .25 inch
Top of Leg - 1.5 inches
Can't help it if I have fat arms.
That just goes to show the power of exercise, since I really haven't been dieting at all, just eating well.
That gives me some incentive to carry on.

RE: Monday, Monday...
Monday, Monday....
This is a big one, Monday, Monday....I hope it finds everyone doing well, and ready for a happy and healthy New Year!
WW is happening for me Tuesday evening. I am excited, and I dread it also. Go figure. I must, I must... I am miserable, so I pray I actually stick with this. I plan to pay the 3 month fee so I've paid up and made that committment. The church where the Tuesday meetings are held is just around the corner from my school, a good thing!
I bought a few boneless chicken breasts and some baby swiss cheese. I am going to make some mini chicken corden blue with the left over honey baked ham from the holiday. I know increasing fruits and vegges will be key. I have a basket of fruit on my kitchen table now.
I have 2 more days off from school until the real world checks back in. Ahhhhh...
All the best!

Hi all,
It's been so hot here today that it has been hard to move let alone think about things. We've been experiencing high temperatures up to 40C, around 110F. It is not very nice and certainly not conducive to doing anything much around the place. However it seems to have cooled down somewhat tonight. Maybe that storm will arrive after all.
Glad to hear that we are all safely through the Christmas and New Year period. Now is the time to start thinking positive for the coming year. Make some plans for improvement. Try to think about moving more and eating less or drinking more water - no hardship here I can tell you. I'm onto my 5th 600ml (pint) bottle for the day.
My plan for the year is to continue with the gym 5 times a week and include abs and crunches in the workout. I also want to put some more portion control in place. I've been slipping with that lately.
Around the house, I want to finish the 3 projects currently on the go BEFORE I start anymore. It's almost too hot to paint at the moment but that won't last for ever and I can do the preparation now. There is a new gate and fence going in down the side tomorrow morning. After that I'll be looking at the concrete for the patio which is a job I have been putting off and off.
That's about my lot for the new year. Let's get these done before sorting out another new project.
Have a good day all.

RE: Weight Watchers discount
Good Morning Girls!
It appears WW has a nice discount offer out for a monthly fee closer to $8 a week, rather than the normal $11 fee. You have to pay $150 upfront and it is good for meetings until mid April. Sounds good to me.
I am getting ready to go into school to grade finals and post grades. I cannot believe the last 8 days flew by at record speed.
Let's hope my postive progress on WW and increasing exericse also show progress at record speed. Or, better yet with consistent speed.
I've enjoyed reading about the lady on the front page of this website - Sandi as she diets. She gained over the holiday. I think that is almost unavoidable. One of my good (skinny) friends got a new digital scale for Christmas. You would have thought she got a nice piece of jewelry. That has got to me my attitude - that scale is a good thing. Ick! LOL
The Rose Parade is on, and it is raining for the first time in 50 years there. I have a friend that lives in LA that usually takes her Mother to this each year (Mother lives in Louisville.) She gets tickets through her husband a doctor at UCLA with the contacts to pull it off. Nice, huh?
Well, Happy and Healthy New Year girls!!!!

Morning all,
Another stinker of a day here, yesterday was just horrible. We are on our knees praying for rain.
Nothing much happening over here. I need to go sort out my CV (resume) to start looking for my next job. That will happen today.
I have people coming to build my new gate today. They just rang to say they would be late due to the fact that the place where they get the materials will not be open until 9.00. But they are still planning to get here today.
Weight is doing some horrible fluctuations at the moment. So it's time for portion control again. I think I am overeating on some foods. I'd like to be organised enough to plan out my menus and only have enough in the house for this week. But I am not.
And I have to watch the water intake today today. I need plenty of it.
Gotta go.

Hi Ladies,
I guess I have to do something so I will get the e-mails again. I went to exercise class this morning and I bought a new DVD/VCR player for my garage so that I can use those exercise CD's I bought sometime ago. I bought one of those rubber ropes that we use at the Y and you can really do a lot of different exercises with it.
HalGal -- Happy to see that you are following through and joining WW. Trust me, we all know it does work. I do believe that now that the holidays are over we won't have as much temptation as we did before.
Shad -- Five times a week at the gym--that sounds pretty awsome! Good luck!
Gene is watching the Ohio v. Notre Dame game and I am rooting for of course OHIO! The weather here is like perfect--76 degrees!
Happy New Year to all of you and perhaps this will be the year we all get to our goals or at least we will keep on trying!
Take care,
Anita

RE: Just a few hours until weigh in...!1
I'm doing anything to delay going into school to get ready for tomorrow. LOL Actually, I have some dry toast and a poached egg waiting for me. Shad I agree on portion control. I loved the holiday, but am GLAD they are over! More later!
